Intercom Integrations for Small Business (2026): 10 Tools

The Intercom integrations worth adding are the ones that connect a tool your team already uses. Before you switch one on, check which way the data flows, into Intercom or out of it, and which plan the partner tool needs, because some integrations only appear on higher plans of the partner product, not Intercom's.

Picking Intercom integrations is really one decision repeated: is this conversation data more useful somewhere else, or is somewhere else's data more useful inside Intercom? Answer that per tool and most of the app directory falls away. For a small business, an integration is only worth the setup if the partner tool is already part of how you work.

Below are ten tools with documented Intercom integrations, grouped by what you do with the conversation. They're listed in no particular order, and there's no crowned option, because the right connections depend on what your team already runs.

Plan limits and data direction come before features

An integration page rarely tells you which plan you'll need, or which way the data moves. Two tools here state plan limits on their own pages: one issue tracker's docs say its Intercom integration is for Business and Enterprise workspaces, and one onboarding tool says Intercom is on its Studio and Enterprise plans. In both cases a small team may need to move up a plan on the partner tool, not on Intercom. Intercom's own plans differ in what they include too, so check yours.

Direction varies just as much. Survey tools here write results into Intercom, so your support team sees scores next to the chat. Feedback and issue tools pull conversations out of Intercom into another product, so the product team works where it already works. Neither is better; they just change who sees what, and where.

Four things to do with an Intercom conversation

Turn conversations into product work

Canny captures feature requests from conversations and can tell customers when their request moves. Productboard turns tagged conversations into product feedback. Linear creates and links issues from chats, with the issue status visible in the Intercom sidebar.

Measure how customers feel

Retently and SatisMeter both run NPS surveys and send the results back into Intercom, the first as tags, events or attributes, the second with written feedback appearing as conversations. Typeform connects its forms to Intercom for support, lead capture and marketing automation.

Guide users inside your product

Chameleon and Userflow both run in-app tours. One syncs in-app and help centre data with Intercom; the other combines tours, tooltips and checklists with Intercom chat on its higher plans.

Measure and connect everything else

Amplitude links product analytics with Intercom, with setup documentation on its own site. Zapier connects Intercom to other apps with ready-made workflows, such as posting new conversations into a Slack channel.

Ten Intercom integrations, in no particular order

Amplitude

Best for: Product teams already using this analytics platform who want it linked with Intercom, following the vendor's documented setup route.

Canny

Best for: Software companies collecting feature requests, where the vendor says an Autopilot reads Intercom conversations and captures deduplicated feedback tied to each customer.

Chameleon

Best for: SaaS teams offering in-app tours and prompts at the moment users need help, synced with their Intercom help centre data.

Linear

Best for: Engineering teams on Business or Enterprise workspaces who want issues created from Intercom chats, with status and assignee showing in the Intercom sidebar.

Productboard

Best for: Product managers who want support, sales and marketing staff to flag Intercom conversations so they arrive as product feedback.

Retently

Best for: Customer success teams running NPS surveys in the Intercom Messenger or by email, with results saved as tags, events or custom attributes.

SatisMeter

Best for: Small SaaS businesses sending in-app or email NPS surveys, where written replies show up as conversations in Intercom.

Userflow

Best for: Onboarding with tours, tooltips and checklists combined with Intercom chat, on the Studio or Enterprise plans its FAQ names.

Zapier

Best for: Non-developers connecting Intercom to other apps, such as posting new conversations to Slack channels or adding users to Mailchimp.

Practical advice for a small support team

Connect what you already use, and nothing else. If your developers live in an issue tracker, link it so bugs from chats arrive with context. If you already survey customers, send the scores into Intercom so whoever answers the next chat knows the mood. Adding a new tool just because it has an Intercom page usually means another login and another bill of work for a small team.

Before switching anything on, check the partner tool's plan page and decide which way the data should go. If Intercom itself is the thing you're unsure about, see these alternatives to the big ticketing suites and our guide to help desk software for small businesses.

Who should own each integration

  • Feedback and issue tools: the product lead, because they decide what happens to a request once it leaves Intercom.
  • Survey tools: whoever runs customer success, since they'll act on low scores and set the survey timing.
  • In-app guides: the person who owns onboarding, so tours and help articles don't contradict each other.
  • Analytics and automations: one named person who keeps a list of every workflow, so nothing fires twice or breaks silently when a field changes.

Frequently asked questions

Do Intercom integrations work on every Intercom plan?

Not necessarily. Intercom's plans differ in what they include, and some partner tools also limit their Intercom integration to their own higher plans. Check both sides before you rely on one.

What does data direction mean for an Intercom integration?

It's which way information travels. Some tools write data into Intercom, such as survey scores, while others take Intercom conversations out into another tool, such as a feedback board or issue tracker.

Can I connect Intercom to apps without a built-in integration?

Often, yes. A no-code automation tool can pass Intercom events to other apps, though you'll need to set up and maintain each workflow yourself.

How many Intercom integrations should a small business use?

As few as do the job. Start with the one or two tools your team already relies on, and only add more when there's a clear person who'll use the data.

Will an integration slow down my support team?

It can if it adds noise. Survey scores and linked issues in the sidebar help agents; dozens of automated tags nobody reads don't. Review what each integration adds after a few weeks.

Is an integration the same as replacing Intercom?

No. Integrations add tools around Intercom. If Intercom itself isn't working for you, an alternatives list is the better starting point.
