How to Safely Send Last Minute Gifts to Loved Ones
Sometimes life gets in the way and we are super busy, causing it to completely forget about a loved one’s birthday. This leaves you scrambling at the last minute to find a gift and get it sent in time.
If you’re looking for a gift to send your friend or family member for their special day, here are some easy steps to take in order to safely send last minute gifts to them. Remember to get your gifts packaged and posted as soon as possible. Same Day Delivery is recommend for any last-minute gifts!
- Choose Your Gift
The first step is always choosing exactly what you want to send. Of course, this completely depends on what your loved one enjoys, but here are some quick gift ideas that most people would love to receive.
- Gift vouchers
- Clothing or shoes
- Jewellery and accessories
- Perfume or aftershave
- Novelty gifts like mugs or t-shirts
- Toiletries
- A hamper of delicious snacks.
- Premium white shoe laces to take their sneaker game to the next level
2. Write a Card or Note
Along with your gift, it’s tradition to send a card. Find something cute or funny to write your birthday wishes in, and place it into your parcel. Most cards are cheap and cheerful, and they are a great way to show your love and make your gift more personalised.
Make sure it won’t get bent during delivery by packaging it safely. You may also want to add a little note to say ‘sorry’ in case the parcel doesn’t arrive on time for their birthday!
3. Package It Up Safely
Whatever your items, sending by post always carries a risk. The items can get damaged or lost, and unfortunately, there’s little you can do once you’ve sent the package. However, if you ensure your packaging is secure and safe, this will reduce the chances of anything going wrong.
Choose a rigid box, add your items, and cover them in protective padding such as bubble wrap or tissue paper. If the item is particularly delicate, make sure to write ‘fragile’ across the sides of the box. This will indicate to the courier that they need to be extra careful with this package.
When sending your last-minute gifts, it’s always a good option to select same day delivery if possible so that the package arrives as quickly as possible (hopefully in time for your loved one’s special day).
4. Follow-up With Them
Whether you want to drop them a call, send an email, or pop round to see them in person, make sure to follow-up with your friend or family member to see if they received your gift. This is also a great opportunity to catch up with them over a cup of tea!
If the item hasn’t arrived, contact the courier service you used. They will help you locate the package, or give you compensation if it has been lost.
