To increase your Snap Score, use Snapchat the way it's built to be used: send and receive Snaps and post Stories. Snapchat Support says your score comes from a secret equation that combines Snaps sent and received, Stories posted and a couple of other factors it doesn't name. It doesn't publish the formula, so anyone selling a shortcut is guessing.
Snap Score is one of those numbers that quietly becomes a competition. Friends compare it, and if you use Snapchat to reach customers or followers, a growing score can feel like proof you're getting somewhere. I've read what Snapchat's own Support pages say about it, and the honest summary is short, so I'll tell you what's confirmed, what isn't and what to leave well alone.
Where to find your Snap Score on the Snapchat Profile screen
Snapchat Support says you can always check your Snapchat score under your name on the Profile screen. Open the app, tap your profile picture or Bitmoji at the top, and look beneath your name. Menus vary by app version, so if you can't see it straight away, scroll the Profile screen before searching the Help Center.
What Snapchat says counts towards your Snap Score
Snapchat's help article is clear about the ingredients and equally clear that the recipe is private. It says your score is determined by a super-secret, special equation. That equation combines the number of Snaps you've sent and received, the Stories you've posted, plus a couple of other factors. The page doesn't name the other factors.
- Snaps you send count towards it.
- Snaps you receive count towards it.
- Stories you post count towards it.
- A couple of other factors count too, but Snapchat doesn't name them.
That's all that can be confirmed. Snapchat doesn't say how many points each Snap is worth, or whether a Snap to one friend counts differently from a Snap to ten. Plenty of websites claim to know the numbers. The official page doesn't, so I won't repeat them.
Everyday ways to grow your Snap Score honestly
Since sending, receiving and posting are the confirmed inputs, the sensible approach is simply to be active in the app. Nothing here is a trick, and none of it needs a third-party tool.
- Send Snaps to friends you already talk to, rather than adding strangers.
- Open and reply to Snaps you receive, so you're taking part in both directions.
- Post to your Story when you've got something worth sharing.
- Keep using the app regularly, because a score is built up from activity, not a single burst.
- Check your Profile screen now and then to see how it's moving.

Snapscore Multiplier on Snapchat+
There is one official feature that speeds things up. Snapchat's help article says Snapscore Multiplier is a Snapchat+ benefit that lets you grow your score twice as fast by sending or receiving Snaps with other Snapchat+ members. It's off by default.
According to the article, you turn it on from My Account by tapping your Snapchat+ membership card and toggling Snapscore Multiplier on. It only applies to Snaps exchanged with other Snapchat+ members, so it's no use if none of your friends have it.
Why you can't lower or reset your Snap Score
Snapchat Support says there's no way to lower or reset your Snapscore. If you were hoping to start again, the only way is a new account, and that comes with its own downsides, since you'd lose your friends, memories and chats. I'd think carefully before doing that over a number.
What to avoid when trying to raise your Snap Score
Searching for ways to boost a score brings up a lot of offers for apps, bots and websites. I'd stay away from every one. Snapchat's account safety page says never to share your password with anyone, not even Snapchat, and never to share one-time passcodes or login links. A tool that asks for your login to raise your score is asking for exactly what that page tells you to protect.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- Don't buy scores or followers, and don't hand your login to any app or website.
- Don't use bots or scripts to send Snaps to lots of accounts.
- Don't spam strangers with Snaps. Snapchat says to only add people you know in real life.
- Don't download modified versions of the app.
If someone sends you unwanted Snaps, reporting them on Snapchat is the right route, and if you're ever in danger, contact the police.
Snap Score for creators and business accounts
If you use Snapchat for work, treat the score as a rough activity mark, not a measure of reach. It rises with Snaps and Stories, which is the sort of regular posting that helps an account anyway. What matters more is whether people watch your Stories and reply, and the score doesn't tell you that.
