You can't apply for Roblox's verified badge. Roblox issues it automatically, once a month, to accounts that are notable (for developers, owning or holding a 10%+ automatic group share of an experience with over 1M playtime hours in the last 90 days), pass ID verification, have Authenticator switched on and have been active in the last 180 days.
The blue checkmark on Roblox is a demanding badge, and it isn't for ordinary players. It's for notable creators, developers and off-platform names. Here's how Roblox decides, from its own Verified Badge FAQ and developer forum.
Three tests, all required
| Test | What Roblox checks |
|---|---|
| Notable | A different bar depending on your account type (below) |
| Authentic | ID verification |
| Secure and active | Authenticator switched on, and activity on Roblox in the last 180 days |
The notability bar by account type
- Experience developers. You own, or have a 10%+ automatic group share of, an experience with more than 1M playtime hours in the last 90 days.
- Avatar item creators. You or your group have at least 200K items sold in the last 90 days, alongside a separate volume threshold Roblox sets.
- Off-platform names. Companies, celebrities, musicians and politicians come through Roblox's Video Stars program rather than a public route.
The experience rule changed in 2025. Roblox's developer forum post says it had paused giving badges to contributors after reports of group owners trading the badge, and the updated rule allows owners or people with a 10%+ automatic group share. Roblox warns that trading the badge leads to it being revoked and can mean moderation action on the account.
There's no form to fill in
This is the part most players don't know. Roblox says that for creators there's no application process. If you meet the criteria, you're notified and given the badge automatically. Issuing happens once a month, so it can take a full month after you qualify before it appears. Anyone offering to 'get you verified' is offering something Roblox doesn't offer or arrange.
How you can lose it
The badge comes off automatically if you change something Roblox uses to confirm you're you. Its FAQ lists:
- Turning off Authenticator on the account.
- Changing your username or display name.
- Changing a group's name or a group's owner.
If you lose it after a change like that, Roblox asks you to contact Customer Support with your username and details of what changed.
Don't mix it up with Talent Hub
Roblox points out that the verified badge isn't the same as the ID verification badges on Talent Hub. Those only show someone has verified their ID. The blue checkmark adds notability on top. A verified badge also doesn't mean Roblox endorses the account; verified users follow the same rules as everyone else.
Getting ready before you qualify
Because the badge arrives automatically, the smart move is to have the non-negotiables in place long before your numbers get there. Roblox needs three things it can check without asking you: ID verification on the account, Authenticator switched on, and recent activity. If any of them is missing the month you cross the notability line, you simply wait another month. For teams, decide early who owns the group and keep that stable, since a change of group owner is one of the triggers that removes the badge.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
If you work inside a studio rather than owning the game, look at how your group share is set up. Roblox's rule counts an automatic recurring share of 10% or more; its forum update explains it doesn't count manual or one-off arrangements in the same way, so check with the owner how yours is configured.
My verdict
For most players the honest answer is that the badge isn't for you yet, and that's fine. If you're building games, the target is clear: an experience big enough to pass 1M playtime hours in 90 days, with ID verification and Authenticator in place before you get there so the badge can land the month you qualify. If you're designing for a wider audience, it's worth understanding the genres that hold attention, from role-playing games to video puzzle games.
