On StockX's standard verified selling route, you pay a 3% payment processing fee plus a transaction fee set by your Seller Level: 9% at Level 1, falling to 7% at Level 5, worked out on the final sale price. A minimum seller fee applies (5 US dollars in the US) and shipping is deducted from your payout.
StockX works differently from most resale apps. On its main selling route, your item goes to StockX first to be checked before the buyer gets it, and the fees reflect that. The good news is that StockX publishes its fee tiers clearly. Here's what its Help Center says you'll pay, how the levels work, and where shipping and payouts fit in.
How StockX works out its seller fee
StockX's Help Center says seller fees vary by how you sell: the standard verified route, StockX Listings and StockX Live each have their own fee structure. Most sellers use the verified route, where new, unworn items are checked by StockX before they're sent on.
On that route, you pay two things:
- A 3% payment processing fee on every sale.
- A transaction fee set by your Seller Level in the StockX Seller Program, calculated on the final sale price.
So a brand-new seller on Level 1 pays 3% plus 9% before shipping. The more you sell each quarter, the lower the transaction fee goes.
StockX Seller Levels and transaction fees
StockX sets five levels. Each one needs either a number of sales or a sales total in a quarter, and each comes with a lower base transaction fee:
| Seller Level | Quarterly sales needed | Base transaction fee |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | None | 9% |
| Level 2 | 12 sales or 1,500 US dollars | 8.5% |
| Level 3 | 40 sales or 5,000 US dollars | 8% |
| Level 4 | 200 sales or 25,000 US dollars | 7.5% |
| Level 5 | 800 sales or 100,000 US dollars | 7% |
You can see your current level, your transaction fee and your selling stats on the Profile page in Account Settings. If you're close to the next level near the end of a quarter, it's worth checking, because a lower fee applies to every sale after you move up.
The StockX minimum seller fee
Cheaper items hit a floor. StockX lists minimum seller fees by region, including 5 US dollars in the United States and 4.50 pounds in Great Britain. Sellers in countries whose currency isn't listed pay the 5 US dollar minimum, which can move with currency conversion.
In practice, this means low-priced items lose a bigger share of their sale price to fees. If you're thinking of listing inexpensive accessories, run the numbers first: the minimum may take more than the percentage would.
StockX shipping costs for sellers
On the verified route, StockX deducts the shipping cost from your total payout and gives you a label once the sale goes through. Its estimated base rates for a single item include 5 US dollars in the United States and 4.00 pounds in the United Kingdom. StockX says it adjusts shipping for heavier items and multi-item packs, and tells sellers to use the label provided even if the weight looks wrong.
Once the item arrives and the verification team confirms it and its condition, your payout is released. Ship promptly and pack carefully, because the item has to pass that check before you're paid.
StockX Listings and StockX Live fees
StockX has two newer ways to sell, both currently open only to select sellers through waitlists.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- StockX Listings is for used or unique items. StockX says that at launch it doesn't charge the seller standard selling, processing or shipping fees. The buyer covers processing, shipping and any optional verification. You keep the full sale price, minus any penalty or return-related fees if something goes wrong.
- StockX Live is for selling in live shows. At launch, StockX doesn't charge sellers standard selling or processing fees. The buyer pays shipping, except on Live Giveaway orders, where the seller covers it.
These are launch terms, so check the Help Center again before relying on them for a big batch.
When and how StockX pays sellers
StockX pays out once a day as a lump sum for all eligible orders. On the verified route, an order becomes eligible for that day's cycle once the item passes verification. Each cycle closes at about 6:30 PM ET and payouts go out at about 7:00 PM ET. StockX Listings and Live payouts start after the carrier confirms delivery.
Sellers can be paid by PayPal, bank transfer, Venmo (US only) or debit card (US only). In the US, money goes into StockX Balance in your StockX Wallet, where you can spend it or withdraw it. Prepaid cards aren't supported. You'll find an itemised breakdown of every payout in your seller export from your Selling profile.
How to keep more from StockX sales
- Watch your Seller Level each quarter. Moving up even one level lowers the transaction fee on everything after.
- Avoid listing very cheap items where the minimum seller fee eats most of the sale.
- Only sell items you're certain are new, unworn and authentic, so they pass verification first time.
- Use the shipping label StockX gives you, and pack the box well.
- If you resell for profit, keep records and ask an accountant about tax on your own sales.
