As of October 2026, Google Workspace costs $7 per user per month for Business Starter, $14 for Business Standard and $22 for Business Plus, in US dollars and before tax, on Google's monthly pricing. New customers are shown a half-price introductory rate on the first 20 users. Enterprise pricing is by quote.
Google Workspace is the paid version of Gmail, Drive, Docs and Meet with your own business email address. It's one of the first tools I'd tell a new business to buy, because a [email protected] address does more for trust than almost anything else at this price.
Google Workspace plans and prices
These are the prices Google shows to a US visitor, as of October 2026. Google says prices are per user per month and don't include tax.
| Plan | Standard price | Intro price for new customers | Pooled storage per user |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | $7 per user a month | $3.50 per user a month | 30 GB |
| Business Standard | $14 per user a month | $7 per user a month | 2 TB |
| Business Plus | $22 per user a month | $11 per user a month | 5 TB |
| Enterprise | Contact Google | Not listed | 5 TB on Enterprise Plus |
Google adds that Starter, Standard and Plus can be bought for a maximum of 300 users. There's no minimum or maximum on Enterprise.
The introductory offer small print
The lower prices you see first are an offer, not the long-term price. Google's own footnote says the introductory price is for new Google Workspace customers only, applies to the first 20 users added, and that standard pricing applies after the offer period. It also says the final price is shown before you complete sign-up.
So if you're budgeting for a team of five, plan on the standard rate, and treat the intro discount as a bonus for the first stretch.
Prices change by country
Here's what surprised me when I checked. Google serves different prices by location. The same page served to a European visitor showed Business Starter at 6.80 euros, Standard at 13.60 euros and Plus at 21.10 euros per user per month. If you're in the UK, Australia or Canada, check the page while signed in from your own country, because your bill will be in your local currency.
What each plan adds
- Business Starter: secure custom business email, 30 GB of pooled storage per person, the Gemini AI assistant in Gmail, video meetings for up to 100 participants and the Google Vids video editor.
- Business Standard: everything in Starter, with 2 TB per person, meeting recording and noise cancellation for up to 150 participants, appointment booking pages, eSignature in Docs and PDFs, and mail merge.
- Business Plus: everything in Standard, with 5 TB per person, meetings for up to 500 participants with attendance tracking, Vault for retaining and searching data, and advanced endpoint management.
- Enterprise: priced by quote, with no minimum or maximum number of users.
Google describes storage as pooled, which means it's shared across the organisation rather than locked to each person. One heavy user can use more as long as the team total isn't exceeded.
How to choose the right plan
- Count the people who need their own email address. Shared inboxes like hello@ can often be aliases rather than paid users.
- Estimate storage. If you store video or large design files, Starter's 30 GB per person will run out fast.
- Check whether you need recordings or stronger device controls. Those push you to Standard or Plus.
- Start a trial from the pricing page and add your domain.
- Confirm the final per-user price on the checkout screen before you enter payment details.
If you're still deciding between suites, my comparison of Gmail vs Outlook covers the day-to-day differences. And if you only need the apps without a business address, see whether Google Workspace is free for your situation.
Monthly or annual
Google's page offers an annual commitment option as well as monthly billing. The prices above are the monthly figures Google shows. If you're confident about your headcount for the next year, compare the annual figure on the same page before you buy, because an annual plan locks your user count in.
Is it worth paying over free Gmail?
For a business, yes, mostly because of the address. Free Gmail ends in gmail.com, while every Workspace plan includes secure custom business email at your own domain. Google also lists video meetings for up to 100 participants on Starter, the Gemini assistant in Gmail and the Google Vids video editor, so even the cheapest plan covers email, calls and simple video for a small team.
The point where Starter stops being enough is usually storage or meetings. Google lists recording and noise cancellation only from Business Standard, which is the plan I'd pick if you run client calls you want to keep.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Google's main rival suite is covered in Microsoft's subscription plans and prices.
My verdict
Business Starter at $7 per user a month is enough for most small businesses that mainly need professional email, calendars and documents. Move to Standard when you need more storage or meeting recordings, and Plus only when security and device management matter. Ignore the headline intro price when budgeting and work from the standard rate in your own currency.
