Facebook 2 Million Followers Income: What Big Pages Earn

Facebook doesn't pay for 2 million followers; big pages earn from ads on monetised videos, Reels, Stars and brand deals. My guide puts a 1 million follower page in India at Rs 20,000 to Rs 8 lakh a month, and doubling followers doesn't double that on its own.

Pages with 1.5 million or 2 million followers get asked the same question by friends and family all the time: you must be earning a fortune, right? Some of them do. Often they're earning far less than people imagine, because Facebook doesn't pay for followers at all. The follower count opens doors; what you do with it decides the income.

Followers are a door, not a salary

Facebook pays creators through in-stream ads on longer videos, content monetisation on Reels, Stars from viewers and subscriptions. Brands pay separately for posts. None of those routes has a payment for reaching a follower milestone, so two pages with 2 million followers can have very different months.

My guide to a 1 million follower page in India puts typical monthly income at somewhere between Rs 20,000 and Rs 8 lakh. That spread exists because video views, niche and brand deals matter far more than the follower number. A page twice that size doesn't automatically earn twice as much.

What changes when a page doubles

  • More brands notice you, so inbound offers rise, but they still check engagement before paying.
  • Reach per post often falls as a share of followers, because older followers drift away.
  • Ad income follows views on monetised videos, not the follower total, so it only grows if your video output grows.
  • Your negotiating power improves if your audience is focused on one niche or region that advertisers want.

The 1 million guide makes a point worth repeating: a page with 1 million followers and a 1 percent engagement rate is often worth less to a brand than a page with 150,000 followers and an 8 percent engagement rate. Size helps, but only if people are still watching.

Ad revenue at this size

Ad income depends on how many views carry an ad and where viewers are. The same guide notes that CPM rates for Indian audiences typically land between $0.30 and $1.50 per 1,000 monetised views, which is low compared with US or UK audiences. A page with millions of followers in India can earn modest ad income if its videos are short or its audience is in low ad-rate regions.

For US-heavy pages the maths changes. The 100k followers guide notes typical RPM ranges from about $1 to $8 depending on niche and country, with finance, tech and news at the higher end.

Brand deals: the bigger slice

For most large pages, brand deals bring in more than Facebook's own payouts. The 1 million guide suggests pricing a single post somewhere between Rs 15,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh depending on niche and reach, adjusting up once you have three or four paid posts with results behind you. A 2 million follower page with strong reach can sit towards the top of that range and above, but only if its insights back it up.

  1. Pull your average reach and video views for the last few weeks, plus audience cities and ages.
  2. Choose two or three categories of brand that match your audience, not every brand that writes in.
  3. Quote per deliverable: one video, one post, a live mention, and usage rights priced separately.
  4. Ask for results from past campaigns you can show the next brand.
  5. Review rates every few deals, using real performance rather than follower count.

Stars and subscriptions

Large pages with loyal viewers can earn steadily from live video. Each Star is worth roughly 1 US cent to the creator, and regular live sessions build a habit. Subscriptions add recurring income from fans who want extra content. Both reward a close audience more than a large one.

A health check for a big page

If reach is under 10 percent of followers, the 1 million guide says to fix the content before chasing monetisation. Look at which posts still travel, cut formats nobody watches, and put more effort into videos that keep people past the first minute. A big page that's lost its audience's attention is the one place where follower count can actively mislead you.

If you want to see the view side of the same maths, the 1 million views guide shows how a million views turns into ad impressions and money.

Running a big page like a business

At this size, a page is a media business whether you planned it or not. That means keeping simple records: which posts earned reach, which brands paid, what each deal included and what results it brought. It also means saying no to offers that don't fit your audience, because one bad promotion can cost you trust that took years to build.

Many large page owners bring in help for editing, scheduling or brand outreach once the work outgrows one person. Do that on the parts that don't need your voice, and keep the content itself sounding like you.

The fair answer

A page with 1.5 to 2 million followers can earn a little or a lot. The pages that do well treat followers as reach to be earned again every week, keep video at the centre, and run brand deals like a small business. The follower number gets you the meeting; the insights close the deal.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Facebook page with 2 million followers earn?

There's no fixed figure. My guide puts a 1 million follower page in India at between Rs 20,000 and Rs 8 lakh a month, and a 2 million page doesn't automatically earn double, because income follows views, niche and brand deals.

Does Facebook pay per follower?

No. Facebook pays through in-stream ads, Reels monetisation, Stars and subscriptions. Followers matter only because they can bring views and brand interest.

How much do brands pay a page with 1.5 million followers?

It depends on reach, engagement and niche. The 1 million follower guide suggests Rs 15,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh per post as a range to adjust from, based on real results.

Why does my big page earn less than a smaller one?

Usually lower engagement, shorter videos without ad breaks, or an audience in low ad-rate regions. A smaller page with focused, active followers can out-earn a bigger quiet one.

What should a large page focus on to earn more?

More ad-eligible video, regular live sessions for Stars, and a few strong brand relationships priced on real reach.
