The DoorDash Merchant Portal is the dashboard where restaurants and stores on DoorDash track sales, manage orders, menus and opening hours, run campaigns and get their payouts and statements. As of October 2026 one email and password can reach several DoorDash businesses through Multi-Profile Access, but reporting, billing and ownership stay separate for each one.
Here's the catch for anyone reconciling their books. The Transactions page under Financials shows estimates, a snapshot of orders and estimated payout for a period. The Payouts page holds the finalised payment data and order level detail, and DoorDash says that's the data to use for your regular financial reconciliation. Mix the two up and your numbers won't match your bank.
What you see when you log in
The homepage gives you a real-time snapshot: gross sales, total orders, average ticket size and customer responses. At the top sits your optimization score, which DoorDash describes as a health tracker for how your store is running and how to improve sales. Below it, Insights and actions can be sorted by All, Growth, Operations and Announcements.
Click the grey box that says this month to change the timeframe. You'll get Sales, with orders over time and average ticket size, Operations, with your avoidable cancellation rate, avoidable wait time, missing and incorrect rate, downtime and ratings, and Customers, split into new, occasional, frequent and total. If you can access more than one business, you may see a business picker first.
The Merchant Portal tabs at a glance
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Insights | Optimization score, sales, operations quality and, where it applies, Most Loved and product mix |
| Reports | Create and manage sales, operations and financial reports, one-off or recurring |
| Customers | See new, occasional and frequent customers and where they're ordering from, then read and reply to reviews |
| Orders | Track Active, Scheduled and History orders from every channel |
| Marketing | Create campaigns and track results, plus a loyalty overview |
| Menu | Edit items, prices, descriptions, modifiers and photos, or mark items out of stock |
| Store availability | Update hours, add special hours and closures, or pause all ordering channels |
| Financials | Transactions, Payouts and Statements |
| Settings | Account, store details, users, store emails, bank account, integrations and your pricing plan |
Two menu rules catch people out. If your menu is integrated with a point of sale system, menu updates go through your POS or middleware provider, not the portal. And the Inventory Manager is only for businesses selling mainly convenience, grocery, alcohol or retail items, and it's locked if you're integrated, because the integration controls stock and pricing.
Financials: statements, tax forms and daily payouts
Monthly statements are ready by the 5th of each month. Tax invoices, based on your monthly DoorDash fees, arrive 10 days after the month ends. Annual tax forms are available by January 31 for the previous year. Anyone with Admin or Manager access can export financial data for every store they can see, so think about who gets which role under Manage Users. Your commission rates sit under Settings in Pricing Plans.
Payouts run weekly unless you switch. To move to daily payouts, go to Settings, then Account settings, scroll to the bottom, select Get Daily Payouts and click Enroll now. The same section has an opt-out button that returns you to the weekly schedule.
- To build a financial report, select Reports in the left column, then Create report.
- Choose Financial Report as the type and click next.
- Pick a one-time report, by payout date or date range, or a weekly or monthly recurring schedule.
- For a date range, include the day before and the day after the period you want, so no orders are missed because of order times.
- Click Create report, then use the download icon under Action once it's ready.
When DoorDash pays you for a cancelled order
You're only paid for a cancelled order when all three conditions are met: the cancellation happened after you confirmed the order, the food was already prepared, and you didn't start or cause the cancellation. To check, open Orders, select History, filter the order status for cancelled orders and read the cancellation type in the status column. Click any order for the full details.
DoorDash's own advice for avoiding avoidable cancellations is simple: keep your hours and menu up to date, set accurate prep times and confirm orders as fast as you can on the tablet. Those same numbers feed straight into the operations score on your homepage.
Running campaigns from the Marketing tab
The Marketing tab now organises promotions into five campaign types, and when you choose one DoorDash fills in recommended settings so you can launch quickly. Select Edit settings to open More settings for budget, duration, scheduling, audience targeting and store selection. If a promotion you used before seems to have vanished, pick the matching campaign type and expand More settings. Your existing campaigns keep running as they were.
| Campaign type | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Smart Campaign | Automated Smart Campaigns |
| Order Discount | Discounts, Happy Hour discounts and Lunch Special discounts |
| Item Promotion | BOGO, free or discounted items, Happy Hour and Lunch Special item promotions |
| Free Delivery | Free Delivery promotions |
Open any campaign to see Campaign Sales, Orders, Spend and ROAS at the top, and compare campaign sales with gross sales to see what the promotion added.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Running more than one store
Multi-Profile Access is switched on automatically when you're eligible, for example when you're added to another business, with no setup needed. To switch, click your current business name in the upper-left corner and pick another from the list. To add a store, log into your primary account, click your business name and choose + Add store or business. Your email and password stay the same, but data isn't combined across businesses. If a business you expect is missing, contact Merchant Support.

My verdict on the DoorDash Merchant Portal
I'd set up three things in your first week: daily or weekly performance emails under Store communications, the right roles under Manage Users, and a recurring financial report. Then reconcile from Payouts, never Transactions. If you run several locations, lean on Multi-Profile Access, but remember every store's reporting stays separate, so you'll still be pulling each one's numbers on its own.
If you run a restaurant or a small group of stores and want AI to take the reporting and admin load off your team, that's my world. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement, workflow automation and GEO, which is about getting your business seen and cited in AI answers. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
