Best Coffee Subscriptions (2026): 10 Clubs and Roasters Compared

The best coffee subscription is the one where the right person chooses your coffee. Some send a coffee from a different country each month, some match coffee to your taste with a quiz, some let the roaster curate, and some let you pick every bag. Decide who you want choosing, then check the grind or pod format and how easily you can skip or pause.

A bag of fresh coffee through the letterbox every few weeks is one of life's small luxuries. The tricky bit is that coffee subscriptions run on very different ideas about who gets to choose what's in the bag.

This list covers ten coffee subscriptions from roasters and clubs, using what each one's own website says, read on 1 Nov 2026 (as of Nov 2026). It's alphabetical and in no particular order. I've skipped every offer, code and free-bag banner, and every 'best coffee' boast, and kept to how each subscription works.

Ten coffee subscriptions and how each one chooses

Atlas Coffee Club

Best for: A different coffee from a different country each month, with the club saying each month features 12 ounces of coffee, flavor notes, a postcard and coffee history.

Bean Box

Best for: Coffees from independent roasters, with the company saying its 600+ specialty coffees are curated to your taste by its Cup of Excellence judge.

Counter Culture Coffee

Best for: Subscribing to single origins or blends on repeat, with gift subscriptions and office subscriptions also listed on its menu.

Driftaway Coffee

Best for: Telling the roaster how you take your coffee so it can match you, by its own description, with office coffee, gift subscriptions and tastings also on its menu.

Grind

Best for: Repeat orders of whole bean, ground, home-compostable pods or instant coffee, with pods the company calls Nespresso compatible.

Intelligentsia

Best for: Letting the roaster curate your coffee or picking it yourself, and choosing how much and how often, as its subscription page describes.

Pact Coffee

Best for: Picking from its range or letting its system choose for you, with the company saying you can reschedule, skip, pause or cancel at any time.

Quarter Horse Coffee

Best for: Choosing between a QHC Club, a Plus Subscription and a Premium Subscription from a roaster whose story began in Oxford, with gift subscriptions also listed.

Stumptown Coffee Club

Best for: Joining a club the roaster says is for people who want better coffee, more often, with a new-coffee-each-month section and a subscription-only Roaster's Pick.

Trade Coffee

Best for: Taking a short quiz about how you brew, then starting with three bags from top roasters matched to your taste, as the page describes it.

Who chooses your coffee?

This is the part that varies most from one subscription to the next, more than the beans themselves. Atlas Coffee Club says 'each month, discover a new coffee from a new country'. Trade Coffee starts with a quiz and 'three bags from the country's top roasters, matched to your taste'. Bean Box offers '600+ specialty coffees from independent roasters', curated to your taste by its Cup of Excellence judge. Intelligentsia lets you choose 'whether we curate it for you, or you pick it yourself'.

  • A new country each month: a different origin in every delivery.
  • Quiz or taste-matched: you answer questions, and the service picks.
  • Roaster's choice: the roaster, or a judge, curates for you.
  • You pick: you choose your own bags and set them on repeat.

Skipping, pausing and changing your mind

A subscription only works if it bends around your life. Pact Coffee says you can 'reschedule, skip, pause or cancel at any time', and Stumptown Coffee Club lists skip, change, pause or cancel too. Before you sign up anywhere, find the page that says how to pause or cancel, so a holiday doesn't leave bags piling up on the doormat.

Beans, pods and tiered clubs

Check the format before you check the flavour. Grind sells 'whole bean, ground, home-compostable pods or instant', which matters if you brew with a pod machine. Quarter Horse Coffee has a 'QHC Club' with Plus and Premium tiers. Counter Culture Coffee lists single origins, blends on repeat and office subscriptions, and Driftaway Coffee says that if you tell it how you take your coffee, it'll match you to cups you'll love.

If you're buying for an office, a few roasters here list office plans next to their home ones, so it's worth a look before you set up a separate account.

Questions before you subscribe to coffee

  1. Do I want to choose, or be surprised?
  2. Beans, ground or pods: which suits how I brew?
  3. How often do I want a delivery, and how much coffee?
  4. Can I skip, pause or cancel online?
  5. Does it deliver to my area?
  6. Is it for home, the office or a gift?

My advice for picking a coffee subscription

Decide how much choosing you want to do. If you like surprises, a new country each month or a roaster's pick keeps things interesting. If you know what you like, a quiz-matched plan, or one where you pick your own bags, makes more sense. Then check the grind or pod format, and find the pause button before you sign up.

Frequently asked questions

How do coffee subscriptions work?

You sign up, and coffee arrives on a schedule. On this list, who chooses the coffee varies: one sends a new country each month, one starts with a taste quiz, some let the roaster curate, and some let you pick your own.

Can I pause or skip a coffee subscription?

Some do. One UK service says you can reschedule, skip, pause or cancel at any time, and another club lists skip, change, pause or cancel. Check the terms on the one you choose.

Can I get ground coffee or pods instead of beans?

Some services list them. One UK brand sells whole bean, ground, home-compostable pods or instant, with pods it calls Nespresso compatible. Check the formats on each service's page.

What's a coffee of the month club?

It's a subscription that sends a different coffee on a schedule. One club here says each month features a new coffee from a new country, with flavor notes, a postcard and coffee history.

Can I give a coffee subscription as a gift?

Yes, at several of these. Pages on this list mention gift subscriptions, gift sets and gift tastings. Check whether the gift renews or simply ends.

Are there coffee subscriptions for offices?

Some roasters list them. Pages here mention office subscriptions, office and bulk coffee, and coffee for work alongside their home plans.
