An AI commercial generator creates a video advert from a prompt, script, product image or product page, often with AI actors, voices and music. Some focus on UGC-style social ads, some on story-led or cinematic commercials and some edit your own footage. Choose by the kind of ad you need and how much control you want. Ten options follow, in no particular order.
A commercial used to mean a crew, a location and weeks of planning most small businesses never had time for. Now you can test five versions of an ad in an afternoon and keep the one your audience responds to.
The ten tools below cover AI actor ads, product video generators, animated storytelling and agentic editors. They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the vendor's own website, read this week. If UGC-style ads are your focus, my guide on creating UGC video ads that drive real sales covers the scripts.

I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site says the tool, or a plan or version of it, is free. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

UK ad rules apply however the ad was made
ASA and CAP say that if an ad falls within their scope, their rules apply regardless of how the ad was created. They also say AI-generated images used to make efficacy claims could mislead if they don't accurately reflect the product, in the same way as photoshopped or filtered images.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
So an AI commercial that shows a product doing more than it really does breaks the same rules as a doctored photo. Keep the product itself real, or show only what it can really deliver.
Brief the AI like you'd brief an agency
- Name one audience and one problem the ad solves.
- Write the hook for the first three seconds.
- Show the product in use, not just on a white background.
- End with one clear action.
- Make three versions and test them against each other.
UGC-style, cinematic or edited footage?
UGC-style ads with AI actors suit social feeds, where people scroll past anything that looks too polished.
Cinematic and animated commercials suit brand campaigns and connected TV, where a story matters more than a quick demo.
Editing your own footage keeps the product real. It's the safest route when the ad makes claims about how the product works.
Signs your AI commercial won't work
- The first three seconds are a logo. Start with the hook.
- The product looks better than in real life. Show the real thing.
- The actor reads like a script. Shorten the lines.
- There's no clear action. Add one at the end.
Do you make an AI commercial generator? Tool makers can ask to be considered for a featured place on this list.
My plain advice on AI commercials
Let AI make the versions and let your audience choose the one that works. Write one strong idea, generate three or four takes with different hooks, run them with a small test and keep the one that earns clicks. The tool's job is speed. Your job is the idea and the honesty of what it shows.
If you sell online, my notes on using video to increase ecommerce conversion rates show where a finished commercial earns its keep beyond ads.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI commercial generator?
It's a tool that creates video ads or commercials from a prompt, script, product image or product page using AI.
Can AI make a TV commercial?
Some tools on this list create cinematic and connected TV ads. Check the output quality and licence before running it on air.
Do UK ad rules apply to AI-generated ads?
Yes. ASA and CAP say their rules apply regardless of how an ad was created.
Are AI actors allowed in ads?
They can be, but the ad mustn't mislead. Don't present an AI actor as a real customer giving a real review.
Can I try an AI commercial generator for free?
Several tools offer a free trial. Check the free plan column above and each vendor's site.
How many versions of an ad should I make?
Three or four is a good start. Test them against each other and keep the one that performs.
