An AI bathroom design tool restyles a photo or plan of your bathroom, showing new tiles, vanities, showers, lighting and layouts before any work starts. The useful ones keep the real walls, window and plumbing in place, so the result is something a builder could follow. Ten options follow, in no particular order.
Bathrooms are small rooms with big decisions. Tile, grout, taps and lighting all fight for the same few square metres, and a sample board in a showroom never shows how they'll look together on your walls.
The ten tools below cover both sides of the job: restyling a photo of the room you have, and planning a new layout from scratch. They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description comes from the tool's own website, read this week. If you only want a lighter refresh, my small bathroom decor ideas may be all you need.
AI bathroom design tools side by side
I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site says the tool, or a plan or version of it, is free. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start, so check the tool's own page before you sign up.

The EPA WaterSense number for new toilets
The U.S. EPA WaterSense page on residential toilets says design improvements have allowed toilets to use 1.28 gallons per flush or less while still performing as well. That's 20 percent less water than the current federal standard of 1.6 gallons per flush, and WaterSense labeled toilets are independently certified for both performance and efficiency.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
An AI render will happily show you a beautiful toilet and a rainfall shower, but it can't show the flush volume or the flow rate. Those come from the label on the product you buy. Pick the look with AI, then check the fixture details before you order.
How to plan a bathroom remodel with AI
- Photograph the room from the doorway, with the lights on and the clutter cleared.
- Measure the room and note where the water and waste pipes sit.
- Run three or four styles, then shortlist the one you'd still like in five years.
- Save the images and mark which items you'd keep, replace or move.
- Take the shortlist to a builder or designer to check what's possible.
Tiles, vanities and layout: what to decide first
Layout comes first, because moving a toilet or shower is the biggest job in any bathroom. Once the layout is fixed, choose the large surfaces: floor tile, wall tile and the vanity. Taps, mirrors and lighting come last and are the easiest to change later.
Small bathrooms benefit most from a preview, because every choice is close to your eye. Light colours, a wall-hung vanity and a single large mirror tend to open a room up. The same rules apply in other small rooms, as my guide to making a small living room feel bigger shows.
Bathroom design mistakes AI won't catch
- No space to open the door. Check swing room for doors and shower screens.
- Poor ventilation. A render never shows steam or damp.
- Too little storage. Open shelves look tidy in images and messy in real life.
- Glossy floor tiles. They look smart and turn slippery when wet.
Signs your bathroom design is ready
- Everyone who uses the room likes it.
- The layout works with your pipes.
- There's enough storage for daily things.
- You've checked fixture labels and sizes.

My plain advice on AI bathroom design
Use AI to agree on a look with everyone in the house before anyone picks up a drill. It's far easier to argue over an image than over tiles already on the wall.
Then hand the image to a professional. A render is a mood board, not a plan, and the water, waste and electrics need a person who knows the rules where you live.
