Snapchat+ is Snapchat's paid subscription, and Snapchat says it comes with premium, exclusive, experimental and pre-release features, from custom app icons to Story rewatch and streak restores. There's no single price: Snapchat says pricing varies by country and device, and the price shown on your device is the price you'll be charged.
The rest of this page covers what's in the bundle, the four plans, how to sign up and the catches I'd want to know before paying, all from Snapchat Support's own pages as of Nov 2026. I won't quote a price, because Snapchat itself says yours depends on where you are and which phone you use. To see your own, go to Snapchat's Settings and tap Snapchat+.
What the subscription adds to the app
Snapchat's own list of exclusive features is long, and most of it falls into a few groups: making the app look your own, seeing more about who watches your Stories, and keeping streaks alive. Here's the list sorted into groups. The grouping is mine; the names are Snapchat's.
| Feature group | Features Snapchat names |
|---|---|
| Make the app your own | Custom App Icon, Custom App Themes, Custom Chat Colors, Chat Wallpapers, Custom Ringtone Sounds, Custom Notification Sounds, Home Tab |
| Stories | Story Timestamps, Story View Notifications, Story Rewatch, Custom Story Expiration, Priority Story Replies, Story Boost |
| Streaks and friends | Instant Streaks, Streak Restore, #1 Best Friend, Extended Best Friends List, Solar System, Friends in Chat |
| Snaps and replays | Replay Again, Replay Your Own Snaps, Lightning Snaps, Peek a Peek, Post View Emoji |
| AI and Bitmoji | AI Captions, AI Creative Tools, Generative Chat Wallpapers, Generative Profile Backgrounds, Create a Bio for My AI, Bitmoji Backgrounds, Exclusive Bitmoji Pet and Car Options |
| Extras | Snapchat+ Badge, Snapscore Multiplier, Gift Snapchat+ |
A few of these have their own help pages, and they show how the features work in practice. Story Timestamps show what time each friend viewed your Story, under their name when you swipe up to see your viewers, and you switch it on or off on your Snapchat+ membership page. Custom App Themes live on the same membership card: tap Custom App Themes, preview the options and tap Apply Theme, and Customize Theme lets you change the colours of the Capture Button, tabs and badges.
Snap Modes is a good example of the experimental side. It lets you send a Snap that can be viewed once only, or one your friends have to open within 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 60 minutes. It only works in one-to-one and group chats, not Stories or Spotlight. Snapchat also says that depending on the device or app version your friends have, Snap Modes might not work as intended, and the Snap arrives as a normal one. The Snapchat+ Badge, meanwhile, is how other people can see you subscribe, and I've written about spotting whether someone has Snapchat+ separately.
The four Snapchat+ plans side by side
Snapchat says you can subscribe with a monthly or yearly individual subscription, and upgrade to three other plans. Some of them may not be available in your region.
| Plan | What Snapchat says it adds | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Individual, monthly or yearly | The exclusive Snapchat+ features | The standard way in |
| Family Plan | You plus an additional 2 people, each with Snapchat+ features and 250GB of Memories storage | The only plan that lets you add other people. Switch to another plan and the people you added lose access |
| Platinum Monthly | The 40+ exclusive features, no ads in Stories or Lenses, Lens+ included, and 5TB of Memories storage | A higher monthly allowance for GenAI Lenses than Lens+. You may still see promoted places and My AI responses |
| Lens+ Monthly | The 40+ exclusive features plus exclusive Lenses and AI features | Same Memories storage as Snapchat+ |
Platinum and Lens+ are both rolling out slowly, so don't be surprised if you can't see them yet. Snapchat says that after switching to Platinum you may need to wait a few minutes or restart the app before it kicks in. My pages on the Snapchat+ Family Plan and what Snapchat Platinum includes go deeper on those two.
How to sign up in the app
Snapchat's steps for subscribing in the app, as of Nov 2026:
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap the Snapchat+ banner card at the top. If you don't see it, dismiss the other banner cards in your Profile first.
- Choose the subscription you want.
- Finish the purchase in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, where Snapchat says you'll see the price and renewal terms before you confirm.
- If the Snapchat+ options or features don't appear, restart the app.
You can also subscribe on the web at snapchat.com/plus: click Subscribe on web, choose a subscription, click Continue, sign in or sign up, fill in your payment details and agree to the Snapchat+ terms. If you pay by card on the web, Snapchat says an authorisation charge may appear to check the card is valid, and it's returned in a few days. Promo codes are a newer way to sign up too, according to Snapchat's own overview.
Web subscribers get a Subscription Management page: sign in on snapchat.com, click Accounts, then My Subscription. From there you can change or upgrade your plan, cancel, update your payment method if you didn't buy through Apple or Google, and see past billings.

Price, refunds and cancelling
The one rule on price is Snapchat's own: pricing may vary in different countries and on different devices, and the price shown on your device is what you'll be charged. Check it in Settings, under Snapchat+, before you commit.
Where you bought it decides where you cancel. If you subscribed on an iPhone or Android phone, your billing history and cancel button sit in the App Store or Google Play Store, under your active subscriptions. Cancelling soon after a web purchase also works differently by region. In the EU or UK, cancelling a web subscription within the first 14 days gets you a pro-rated refund in 7 to 10 business days, and you lose access. After 15 days, it's cancelled and won't renew. In the US, cancelling stops the auto-renewal but you keep access until the current period ends. The full steps are on my page about cancelling Snapchat+.
Who gets the most out of Snapchat+
I'd start with the individual monthly plan if you post Stories for a small brand or a side project, because Story Timestamps, Story View Notifications and Story Rewatch tell you more about who's watching and when. If streaks matter to you, Instant Streaks and Streak Restore are the features people pay for. Skip Platinum unless the ads in Stories and Lenses bother you or you'll use the extra AI Lenses, and skip the Family Plan unless the people you'd add would use it. Whatever you choose, remember that several features are rolling out slowly, so check what's on your own phone after you join rather than assuming every feature is there.
