How to Cancel Snapchat+: iPhone, Android and Web Steps (2026)

To cancel Snapchat+, use the place you signed up. Snapchat's help says iPhone users cancel through the App Store, Android users through Google Play, and web sign-ups through the Snapchat accounts portal. Deleting the app or your account isn't the same thing, and on an iPhone a free trial must be cancelled 24 hours before it ends.

Snapchat+ is easy to start and, for plenty of people, oddly hard to stop, mostly because nobody tells you the cancel button isn't always inside Snapchat. I'm going by Snapchat's own help pages and Snap's terms for Snapchat+ here, so what follows is what Snap says, in the order you'll need it.

The one thing that decides how you cancel Snapchat+

Snapchat's help says the steps depend on how you signed up. There are three routes, and only one of them will show your Snapchat+ plan:

  • Signed up on an iPhone or iPad: you cancel through the iOS App Store.
  • Signed up on an Android phone: you cancel through the Google Play Store.
  • Signed up on the web, including at snapchat.com/plus: you cancel through the Snapchat accounts portal.

If you can't remember which one you used, check your email for the receipt. An Apple or Google message means the store handles it. A message from Snapchat points to the web route.

Cancelling Snapchat+ on an iPhone

Snapchat's help simply says to cancel through the iOS App Store and links to Apple's own instructions. Apple's menus change between versions of iOS, so I won't promise exact button names. The usual place is the account area of your Apple settings, where your active plans are listed. Find Snapchat+ in that list and choose the option to cancel.

There's one warning in Snapchat's help that catches people out. iOS users must cancel 24 hours before a trial period ends to avoid being charged. If you cancel on the last day of the trial, Apple will automatically renew it. So if you started a trial, cancel the day before it ends at the latest.

Cancelling Snapchat+ on an Android phone

For Android, Snapchat's help says to cancel through the Google Play Store, again with a link to Google's own guide. Open the Play Store, go to your account area, find the list of your active plans, pick Snapchat+ and cancel it there. Google's menu names change now and then, so follow Google's page if yours looks different.

Cancelling Snapchat+ if you signed up on the web

A web sign-up is managed on Snapchat's own site, and the help gives clear steps:

  1. Sign in to your account at snapchat.com.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. Click the link for your own plan, which is the third step in Snapchat's help.
  4. Choose the option to cancel on that page.

Snapchat's help adds that this page also lets you change your plan, update a card if the plan wasn't bought through Apple or Google, and look at past billings. It also says that if you tap Manage inside Snapchat and you signed up on the web, you'll be taken to this same page.

If you can't sign in to the web page, my guide to changing your Snapchat password will get you back into the account first.

What you keep after you cancel Snapchat+

Snap's terms for Snapchat+ say that if you cancel, you'll still have access to all of the features through the end of your then-current billing period. After that, access to those features is removed. For a web sign-up in the United States, Snapchat's help says cancelling means it won't auto-renew and you keep access until the end of the billing period you've already been charged for.

To avoid a renewal, the terms say you need to cancel before the date it renews. Cancelling on the day itself can be too late, so give yourself a day or two.

Refunds when you cancel Snapchat+

This is where people get stuck, because Snapchat Support can't help with every purchase. The help page says refunds are handled by whoever you purchased from. If that was Apple or Google, you'll need to contact them directly, and Snapchat Support can't assist with refunds for App Store or Play Store purchases.

For web sign-ups the rules depend on where you live. In the United States, Snapchat's help says refunds aren't provided for the unused portion of a month or year. In Europe and the United Kingdom, it says that cancelling a web purchase within the first 14 days after being charged gets a pro-rated refund within 7 to 10 business days, and you lose access to the Snapchat+ features. After 14 days, it's cancelled and won't auto-renew.

  • Cancel in the same place you signed up, not somewhere else.
  • Cancel at least a day before a trial ends or a renewal date.
  • Keep the confirmation email or screenshot.
  • Check the page again afterwards to see that the plan shows as cancelled.

If you can't find Snapchat+ in your App Store or Google Play list

  1. Check you're signed in to the same Apple or Google account you used to sign up.
  2. Think about whether you signed up on the web instead, and try the Accounts route.
  3. Open Snapchat and tap Manage, which sends web sign-ups to the right page.
  4. If the app is glitchy, my guide to clearing the Snapchat cache may help it load again.
  5. Still stuck? Use Snapchat's help centre to contact Snapchat Support.

Cancelling Snapchat+ is not the same as deleting your Snapchat account

Removing the app from your phone doesn't cancel anything, and Snap's terms say you cancel through your plan settings or through the cancellation process of the store you bought from. Cancel first. If you also want to leave Snapchat altogether, do that afterwards as a separate step.

If you share the plan through a Friends and Family arrangement, the terms add that your access ends if the main account holder removes you or cancels the plan, so it may be worth asking them before you assume it's yours to cancel.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel Snapchat+ on my iPhone?

Snapchat's help says to cancel through the iOS App Store. Find Snapchat+ in your active plans in your Apple account settings and choose cancel. If you're on a trial, do it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Can I cancel Snapchat+ from inside the Snapchat app?

Snapchat's help says that if you tap Manage and you signed up on the web, you'll be taken to your web page to cancel. If you signed up through Apple or Google, you cancel in that store.

Will I lose Snapchat+ straight away when I cancel?

Snap's terms say you keep access to the features through the end of your current billing period. The exception is a refund in Europe or the United Kingdom within the first 14 days, which ends access.

Does deleting the app cancel Snapchat+?

No. Snap's terms say you must cancel through your plan settings in Snapchat or through the store you bought from.

Who do I ask for a refund?

Whoever you bought from. Snapchat's help says to contact Apple or Google directly for App Store or Play Store purchases, because Snapchat Support can't assist with those.
