Read AI Review: The 5-Transcript Free Cap and What Pro Adds

Read AI is an AI meeting assistant that transcribes and summarises your calls, and it suits people with a handful of meetings a week. The catch, as of Oct 2026: the Free plan stops at 5 meeting transcripts a month, while unlimited transcripts and premium integrations sit on Pro.

Read AI works with your Zoom, Teams or Google Meet calls and turns them into summaries you can search later. I went through Read AI's plans page, homepage and FAQ to see what the free plan covers, what Pro and Enterprise add, and where the line between them falls.

Paid plans also always include unlimited meeting reports, unlimited storage and workspace access. Plan details are as of Oct 2026; Read AI quotes Pro per user per month with an annual discount, so check its pricing page for the current figure before you buy.

Five transcripts a month is the free limit that counts

The free plan looks broad: unlimited enterprise search, summaries, a meeting coach and apps for every platform. The number that decides it: 5. The plan includes 5 meeting transcripts per month, and its own blurb describes it as 5 meetings a month complete with summaries, transcription and search. If you're on more than one or two calls a week, you'll hit that well before the month is out.

Pro's headline change is unlimited meeting transcripts. It also brings priority report processing, 100 file upload credits a month and the premium integrations, which is where Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Confluence, Zapier and webhooks live. If your notes need to land in a CRM or a project tool on their own, that's a paid feature, not a free one.

The last line to know is that audio and video playback isn't on Pro. Playback and video highlights sit on Enterprise, along with 200 file upload credits a month and premium support. If you want to re-watch the moment someone agreed to a deadline, make sure you're on the right tier before you rely on it.

Read AI pitches each tier at a different person, which is a handy shortcut. Free is for individuals starting out. Pro is for individuals and small teams who want transcription, search and premium integrations. Enterprise is for individuals and teams who want video playback and the extra capabilities on top. If you're just starting out, the free plan is the one built for you.

What Read AI does around your meetings

Read AI's integrations list names Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, with apps for Android, iPhone, MacOS and Windows plus a browser extension. Every plan, including Free, lists summaries for meetings, email and messaging, Topic Readouts and support for 20+ languages.

The bigger idea is Ask Read. Read AI's FAQ describes it as an AI-powered search and discovery engine across your knowledge base: your meeting transcripts plus connected email, chat and document apps, alongside the latest LLM models. The free plan lists unlimited enterprise search, so you can try the search side even with the 5-transcript cap.

The homepage also says Read AI is now available as a Claude Connector, a ChatGPT App and an MCP Server, which is handy if you already work inside one of those assistants. Beyond the meeting apps, the integrations list names HubSpot, Salesforce, Atlassian, Notion, Asana and Slack.

For a wider look at the category, I've written about AI note takers for small businesses and about how a meeting assistant can save time on note taking.

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Who Read AI fits, and who'll outgrow Free

It suits:

  • People with a handful of meetings a week who want summaries and search without a bill.
  • Teams that live in Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
  • Sales and operations teams who want notes flowing into Salesforce, HubSpot or Notion, which needs Pro.

It's the wrong fit if:

  • You need every meeting transcribed on the free tier. It stops at 5 transcripts a month.
  • You need audio or video playback but only want to pay for Pro.

My verdict on Read AI

I'd start on Read AI's Free plan if you have a few calls a week and mostly want a summary and something searchable afterwards; 5 transcripts a month will show you quickly whether the summaries are useful to you. I'd move to Pro once you hit that cap or need notes flowing into Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce or Jira. I'd only look at Enterprise if you need to play back audio and video. I'd skip the free plan if every meeting needs a transcript, because it won't cover them.
