Shopify Order Tracking Apps (2026): 10 Apps Compared

Shopify already shows customers where their order is, which surprises plenty of store owners shopping for a tracking app. So the question isn't whether you need tracking. It's whether you need more than Shopify gives you out of the box.

The apps below split into two camps: branded tracking pages that keep shoppers on your site, and notification or status apps that tell customers what's happening. Some do both.

What Shopify tracking already covers

The Shopify Help Center page on order tracking says customers can follow their delivery through the order status page, shipping emails and the Shop app, once a tracking number is added to a fulfilled order.

Here's the gap people miss. If you ship without a tracking number, the order stays 'On its way' until you mark it delivered by hand. No app can show progress on a parcel that was never tracked, so sort out the shipping method first.

A tracking app earns its place when you want a branded page, more carriers, or notifications beyond what Shopify sends. If none of those matter to you, Shopify's own tools may be enough.

Free labels and thin reviews on tracking listings

On the listing as of Oct 2026, six of the ten show Free or Free plan available, three show a free trial only, and one shows Free to install. Review depth varies a lot: counts run from 37 to 4,544, and six of the ten have fewer than 100 reviews. Two sit below a 4.5 rating.

A 5.0 from a few dozen reviews tells you less than a 4.9 from thousands, so read the recent reviews before you install, and look for comments from stores that ship the way you do.

Before you switch on a tracking app

1. Check every order ships with a tracking number, or there's nothing to show.
2. Look at Shopify's own order status page and shipping emails first, so you know what you're adding to.
3. Decide whether you want shoppers on a branded page inside your store.
4. Check the app covers the carriers you use.
5. Test the tracking page on a phone as well as a laptop.

The store showed 6,238 apps for the term and labelled 4 of its results as ads, which were left out. They're listed alphabetically, in no particular order, and the order isn't a ranking. Plain advice on order tracking for Shopify

Get a tracking number on every order first, because Shopify's own page and emails will then do a decent job. Add an app when you want a branded page, custom statuses or more messages, and lean towards listings with deeper review counts if you'd like fewer surprises.
