No, Topaz Labs isn't free. Topaz's pricing page lists no free plan for Topaz Photo, Topaz Video, Topaz Gigapixel or Topaz for Web; you pay for a single app or for Topaz Studio, which bundles them all.
Topaz is the AI upscaling and enhancement software that photographers and video editors use to sharpen, denoise and enlarge their work, so it's priced for professionals. The good news is there's more than one way in. Here's what each option costs, what you get and the commercial use rule that most buyers don't spot, all from Topaz's own pricing page, checked as of October 2026.
Topaz Studio: every app in one subscription
Topaz Studio is the all-in-one plan. The pricing page lists it as including Topaz Video, Topaz Photo, Topaz Gigapixel, Topaz for Web and Topaz for Mobile, with unlimited local rendering, unlimited cloud image rendering and 300 monthly cloud video credits.
| Topaz Studio billing | Price as listed |
|---|---|
| Billed annually | $399/yr |
| Annual, billed monthly | $45/mo with an annual commitment |
| Studio Pro, billed annually | $799/yr |
Prices are as shown on Topaz's pricing page as of October 2026, and the page was running a sale at the time, so check the live page before you buy. Topaz says Studio is over $1,100 a year of tools bought separately.
Single apps if you only need one tool
The pricing page says every app is available on its own, from $109 a year. Desktop apps run on your Mac or PC with unlimited local rendering, and browser apps work anywhere with nothing to install.
| App | Main use | Listed price |
|---|---|---|
| Topaz Photo | Denoise, sharpen, recover faces, remove objects | $39/mo |
| Topaz Gigapixel | Image upscaling | $29/mo |
| Topaz Video | Video upscaling and enhancement | $59/mo |
| Topaz for Web, Image | Browser image workflows | $109/yr |
Topaz shows several prices for the same app depending on billing, and some carried sale prices when I checked, so treat these as a guide to the gap between apps rather than a quote.
The commercial use rule most people miss
This is the detail to read before you buy. Standard Topaz Studio lists limited commercial use, which the small print defines as personal and commercial use for organisations under $1 million in annual revenue. Topaz Studio Pro lists full commercial use, and the page says Pro licences add full commercial use for organisations over $1 million in annual revenue, plus seat management and higher limits.
So a freelancer or small studio can use the standard plan for paid work. A larger business needs Pro, and Topaz's own banner puts it plainly: buying Topaz for your business means Pro for full commercial rights.
Topaz Studio vs Studio Pro
| Topaz Studio | Topaz Studio Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Apps | All the apps | All the apps with Pro licences and pro exclusive models |
| Monthly cloud video credits | 300 | 600 |
| Cloud image concurrency | 2 images | 4 images |
| Cloud export limit | 32MP | 100MP |
| Commercial use | Limited | Full |
| Seat management | Not listed | Yes |
The export limits apply to Topaz's web products only, according to the pricing page. Individual Pro licences are also sold per app: as of October 2026 Topaz listed Topaz Photo Pro at $599/yr, Gigapixel Pro at $499/yr, Video Pro at $699/yr and Topaz for Web Pro at $329/yr.
For large organisations there's an Enterprise option with 1000 monthly video cloud credits, custom legal and procurement terms, offline and air-gapped use, enterprise-wide SSO and dedicated priority support. Pricing for that is by contacting Topaz.
How Topaz cloud video credits work
- Topaz Studio includes 300 monthly cloud video credits, and Studio Pro includes 600.
- Monthly credits expire at the end of each month and don't roll over.
- Local rendering on your own computer is unlimited, so credits only matter for cloud video work.
- You can buy extra credits if you run out.
Desktop apps vs browser apps
Topaz now sells its tools in two forms. The desktop apps, Topaz Photo, Topaz Video and Topaz Gigapixel, run on your own Mac or PC, and local rendering is unlimited. Topaz for Web runs in your browser with nothing to install, and its image plan lists workflows such as unblur, sharpen, denoise, relight, photo restoration, face enhancer, background remover and colorizer, with unlimited image rendering. If you edit on a laptop without a strong graphics card, the browser apps are worth a look.

How to choose the right Topaz option
- Decide what you enhance most: photos, video or both.
- If it's one job, such as upscaling images, start with that single app.
- If you use two or more apps, compare their combined price with Topaz Studio.
- Check your organisation's annual revenue against the $1 million line before picking standard or Pro.
- Look at whether you'll render locally or in the cloud, because cloud video uses credits that don't roll over.

My verdict: is Topaz Labs free?
No. Topaz Labs is paid software with no free plan on its pricing page. As of October 2026 single apps started from $109 a year and Topaz Studio, with every app, was $399 a year. If you're a photographer or video editor who'll use it weekly, Studio is the better deal; if you just need to upscale the odd image, look at a single app or a free alternative first.
