As of October 2026, Spotify Premium in Kenya costs Ksh 419 a month for Individual, Ksh 549 for Duo, Ksh 669 for Family (up to 6 accounts) and Ksh 209 for Student. Spotify also sells prepaid plans that don't auto-renew, but only two of them beat the monthly price.
Kenya is on Spotify's four-plan line-up, with prices in shillings and a prepaid option on every plan. That last part is where people overpay, so I've set out exactly what Spotify's own Kenya page lists and which choices cost you more than they should.

Every plan can be cancelled at any time. Duo is for a couple living at the same address, and Family is for up to 6 family members at the same address, with parental controls for the plan manager.

The intro offer on Individual in Kenya
When I checked Spotify's Kenya page in October 2026, it showed Premium Individual at Ksh 209 a month for 6 months, then Ksh 419 a month, for people who've never tried Premium before. That's the same Ksh 209 as the Student plan, for anyone who qualifies as new to Premium. Intro offers change often, so check what the page shows on the day you sign up rather than relying on what it showed in October 2026.
Student works differently: new Premium users get 1 month for Ksh 0, then pay Ksh 209 a month.
Kenya's prepaid plans: the ones that save and the ones that don't
Prepaid means you pay once in advance and top up when you want. It never auto-renews, which suits anyone who'd rather not leave a payment method on a recurring subscription. Here's what the Kenya page lists for Individual:

The year is the clear winner: Spotify says it saves you Ksh 838 against twelve months of the Ksh 419 subscription. Six months shaves a little off. But the 3-month option works out at Ksh 419.67 a month, a fraction above the subscription, and the single prepaid month at Ksh 429 costs more than paying monthly.
Prepaid Duo in Kenya costs more than the subscription
This is the detail most people miss. Every prepaid Duo option on the Kenya page works out dearer per month than the Ksh 549 Duo subscription:

The gap is small on the longer periods, but it's never in your favour. If you're happy with a recurring payment, the subscription is the cheaper way to run Duo. Pay prepaid only if you want the no-renewal control.
Student and Family prepaid in Kenya
Student and Family each show a single prepaid month: Ksh 229 for Student and Ksh 729 for Family. Both are higher than the monthly subscription (Ksh 209 and Ksh 669), so they're a convenience, not a saving.

Who can get Spotify Premium Student in Kenya
Spotify's Kenya page says Premium Student is for people enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education that's eligible for the offer, and over 18. You can keep it for up to 4 years. How the Kenya trial and cancelling work
Spotify's own answers on the Kenya page cover the questions people ask before signing up:
- Even for a free or reduced-rate trial, you need a valid payment method. Spotify uses it to confirm your country and to charge you if you keep Premium.
- Spotify sends a reminder 7 days before your trial ends.
- Cancel a paid plan and it runs until your next billing date, then your account switches to the free service.
- Cancel during a zero-priced free trial and you lose Premium immediately. Zero-priced free trials can't be reactivated.
- You keep your playlists and saved music on the free service, with ads.
Duo and Family members each get their own Premium account, listen at the same time and can't see what the others are playing.

My verdict
In Kenya, the prepaid year is the best deal Spotify offers if you'll stay for twelve months, and the Student plan is a bargain if you qualify. Skip the single prepaid month on any plan, and don't prepay for Duo: the subscription is cheaper every time.
