What Is X Pro? TweetDeck's New Name, Features and Who Gets It

X Pro is the new name for TweetDeck, X's dashboard for watching several timelines side by side. It lets you add columns for searches, lists, mentions and messages, schedule posts, manage more than one account and give a team access without sharing a password. X's Premium help page lists X Pro as a Premium+ feature, so it isn't part of the free or lower plans.

If you remember TweetDeck as the free tool every social media manager kept open in a browser tab, that's the part that's changed. The columns are still there, but access now sits behind X's top subscription tier, and the app itself has been rebuilt.

TweetDeck and X Pro: what changed

X's help centre says it has launched a new version of X Pro, formerly known as TweetDeck, globally. The new version brings in a full post composer, advanced search features, new column types and something X calls Decks, which group columns into separate workspaces.

Two practical details from X's own FAQ are worth knowing before you switch:

  • You get a one-time option to copy your search, list and profile columns into the new Pro.
  • If you move between the old and new versions, changes you make in one won't carry over to the other.

Which X plan includes X Pro

X's Premium page splits its subscription into three tiers: Basic, Premium and Premium+. X Pro appears in the list of features available only to Premium+, alongside Radar Search and the ad-free experience. Here's what X shows for Premium+ on the web in four English-speaking markets, as of October 2026:

CountryPremium+ monthly (web)Premium+ annual (web)
United States$40.00$395.00
United Kingdom£31.00£313.00
Canada56.00 CAD560.00 CAD
Australia62.00 AUD621.00 AUD

X notes that prices can vary by location, tax and your payment method's fees, and that features can change over time. Check the price on your own account before you budget for it. My guide to the X Premium features worth knowing covers what the other tiers include.

How to start using X Pro

  1. Go to the X Pro website and log in with your X account. X recommends an account that isn't shared with other people.
  2. Click your profile photo in the navigation bar and choose Manage accounts.
  3. Click Add an existing account and sign in to any other X accounts you run.
  4. Use Add column in the navigation bar to build your workspace.

The column types you can add

Columns are the reason people use X Pro. Instead of one feed, you see several at once and they refresh as new posts arrive. X lists these column types:

ColumnWhat it shows
HomeThe home timeline for any account you've connected
NotificationsReposts, likes, mentions and new followers for one account
SearchLive results for a search term
ListsA list you've created or follow
CommunitiesThe Communities you belong to
ExploreWhat's trending
Bookmarked postsPosts you've saved
ProfilesOne account's activity
MessagesDirect messages for one account
ScheduledYour scheduled posts

You can drag a column by its six-dot icon to reorder it, and the filter icon in each column header opens its settings or deletes it.

Scheduling posts in X Pro

X Pro lets you schedule posts ahead of time, and if you've connected several accounts you can schedule for each of them. Compose your post, click Schedule post, pick a date and time, then confirm. Add a Scheduled column to see and edit what's queued.

One warning from X that teams often miss: if you use X Pro at work, every scheduled post for the connected accounts is visible to anyone with access. If you only want to schedule from one account, my walkthrough on how to schedule a post on X shows the simpler route.

Search filters that make X Pro worth having

This is where X Pro earns its keep for anyone monitoring a brand or a topic. Each search column has filters for content, location, users, engagement and alerts, so you can show only posts with a minimum number of likes or replies, only posts from verified accounts, or only posts from members of a list.

X Pro also accepts the advanced search operators X documents, for example:

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  • from:username or to:username for posts by or replying to an account
  • filter:news for posts that link to a news story
  • min_faves:10 or min_replies:100 for posts above an engagement level
  • since: and until: with a date to set a range
  • An asterisk as a wildcard, such as a phrase followed by is *

The date operators work on x.com too: see how to search by date on X if you just need old posts.

Giving your team access with Teams

X Pro's Teams feature lets an account owner give other people access without handing over the password. There are three roles:

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerManages password, phone number and login verification, invites admins and contributors, and posts on behalf of the account
AdminInvites admins and contributors and posts, reposts, sends messages, schedules and builds lists for the account
ContributorPosts, reposts, sends messages, likes, schedules and builds lists, but can't manage the team or settings

To set it up, log in to X Pro as the account you want to share, click Accounts, type the @username of the person you're inviting into the Add a team member field and click Authorize. They'll get an email, a push notification and an invitation in their own X Pro, and they have to accept it before they can post.

How posts get ranked is the other thing worth knowing, and my breakdown of the X algorithm explains it.

Other handy features

  • Collections: hand-picked timelines of posts you can share or embed.
  • Mute settings: mute words or sources across the whole app from the gear icon.
  • Search history: rerun earlier searches from the search icon, or clear the list.
  • Embed a post: hover over a post, open the more menu and choose Embed this post.

Creators who schedule and manage video will also want my guide to X Media Studio.

My verdict

X Pro is still the best way to watch X in real time if you manage a brand account, run customer service on X or track a live topic. The catch is the price: it now comes with the top Premium+ tier, so it only makes sense if X is a channel that pays its way for you. If you only need scheduling, a dedicated tool may cost less; I've compared the X schedulers worth looking at. If you need live monitoring and team access on X, X Pro is the one built for the job.
