ElevenLabs Pricing: Free, Starter, Creator, Pro, Scale and Business

As of October 2026, ElevenLabs costs $0 on Free, $6 a month on Starter, $22 on Creator, $99 on Pro, $299 on Scale and $990 on Business, on monthly billing, with Enterprise priced on request. Annual billing gives you two months free.

ElevenLabs is the AI voice tool many creators and small businesses use for voiceovers, podcasts and video narration. Its plans are simple on the surface, but everything runs on credits, so the useful question isn't the price. It's how many credits you'll burn each month.

ElevenLabs plans and monthly credits

PlanMonthly priceCredits a monthAnnual equivalent a month
Free$010,000Not applicable
Starter$630,000$5
Creator$22121,000$18.33
Pro$99600,000$82.50
Scale$2991,800,000 and 3 seats$249.17
Business$9906,000,000 and 10 seats$825

ElevenLabs says annual billing works out to two months free, because you pay for 10 months. It's also running first-month offers on its pricing page: Creator's first month is $11, and until 1 November the first month of Starter is $1.

How ElevenLabs credits work

All products draw from one shared monthly pool, so credits spent on music leave fewer for voiceovers. ElevenLabs lists these approximate costs:

  • Text to Speech: 1 credit per character on V2 Multilingual models, with cheaper Flash and Turbo models on the API.
  • Speech to Text: 330 credits per minute.
  • Eleven Music: 900 credits per minute.
  • Sound Effects: 200 credits per generation.
  • Voice Changer and Voice Isolator: 1,000 credits per minute.
  • Dubbing: from 2,000 credits per minute with a watermark, up to 10,000 in Dubbing Studio without one.

Credits are charged per generation, not per download, so rewriting a script and generating it five times costs five times the credits. ElevenLabs says some free regenerations may be available when the text and settings don't change, and it shows you before you generate whether a retry is free.

Rollover: the detail that saves you credits

Unused credits on a paid plan roll over for up to two months, so your balance can reach three times your monthly allowance while your subscription stays active. Rollover doesn't apply to the Free plan, and if you downgrade or cancel, unused paid credits expire at the end of the cycle. If you upgrade, your unused credits move into the next cycle with you.

That makes a mid-sized plan good value for creators who publish in bursts. A quiet month isn't wasted, as long as you don't cancel. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle, which begins on the day you subscribed, not on the first of the month.

What each plan adds

  • Free: text to speech, speech to text, sound effects, voice design, music, image and 3 projects in Studio.
  • Starter: a commercial licence, instant voice cloning, 20 Studio projects, commercial music use, Dubbing Studio and image and video.
  • Creator: professional voice cloning and the option to buy additional credits.
  • Pro: 44.1kHz PCM audio output through the API and 192kbps audio.
  • Scale: 3 workspace seats, team collaboration and 3 professional voice clones.
  • Business: low-latency text to speech, 10 professional voice clones and 10 workspace seats.

The commercial licence question

This is the line I'd check first. ElevenLabs lists the commercial licence as something Starter adds on top of Free. If you're making voiceovers for client videos, ads, courses or anything you sell, the free plan isn't the right one, and Starter at $6 a month is the entry point.

Seats and teams

Plans up to Pro are built for one person. Scale is the first plan with workspace seats, 3 of them, plus team collaboration, and Business raises that to 10 seats. If an assistant or editor needs their own login to generate audio, that's the point where you move up, not just when you run out of credits.

When to use the API instead of the app

Pro adds 44.1kHz PCM audio output through the API, which matters if you're building ElevenLabs into a product, a phone agent or an automated video workflow. ElevenLabs also notes cheaper per-character pricing on its Flash and Turbo models for API usage. For everyday voiceovers made in the browser, you won't need any of this, and Creator remains the sweet spot.

Choosing an ElevenLabs plan

  1. Estimate how many characters of script you'll voice each month, since text to speech uses about one credit per character.
  2. Try Free to test voices, but don't publish commercial work from it.
  3. Light commercial use and voice cloning: Starter.
  4. Weekly content or a voice clone that sounds like you: Creator.
  5. Daily production or API use: Pro.
  6. Pay annually once your usage is steady to get two months free.

My verdict

For most small business owners and creators, Creator at $22 a month is the plan that makes sense, because it adds professional voice cloning and enough credits for regular videos. Starter is fine for light commercial use. The rollover rule rewards staying subscribed, so don't cancel in a quiet month if you plan to come back, or you'll lose the credits you've banked.
