To add a page on Shopify, go to Online Store, then Pages in your Shopify admin and click Add page. Enter a title and content, choose whether it's Visible or Hidden, and click Save. Then add it to a menu, because Shopify doesn't put new pages in your store's navigation automatically, so customers won't find it otherwise.
Every Shopify store needs a few pages beyond products: About, Contact, FAQs, delivery information, maybe a size guide. They build trust and answer the questions that stop people buying. Adding one takes a couple of minutes, but there's one step people forget, and their new page sits there where nobody can find it. Here's the full process.
Add a page on a computer
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Pages.
- Click Add page.
- Enter a clear title and your content.
- In the Visibility section, keep Visible to publish it, or choose Hidden to keep it private for now.
- Click Save.
Add a page from the Shopify app
In the Shopify app, tap the menu, go to Online Store under Sales channels, tap Pages, then Add page. Fill in the title and content, choose visibility and tap Save.
The step everyone forgets: add it to a menu
Here's the catch. Shopify says that to show a page in your store's navigation, you need to add a link to it in a menu. A brand-new page is live, but unless it's in your header or footer menu, customers won't see it. Go to your store's menus and add a link to the page, usually in the footer for things like delivery information and in the header for About or Contact.
Pages most stores need
| Page | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| About | Shows the people and story behind the brand |
| Contact | Gives customers a way to reach you |
| FAQs | Answers common questions before they become emails |
| Delivery and returns | Removes a big reason people hesitate |
| Size guide or care instructions | Reduces returns for physical products |
Write a good page title
Shopify points out that your page title appears in the browser tab and in search engine results, so make it descriptive. "Delivery and Returns" beats "Info". A clear title helps customers and search engines understand the page.
Schedule a page for later
If you're preparing a page for a launch or a seasonal promotion, set it to Hidden and pick a publish date with the calendar icon. Shopify publishes it at the time you choose. It's handy for holiday delivery deadlines or a new collection's story page.
Format your content
- Use the rich text editor to add headings, bold text and lists.
- Add links by highlighting text and choosing Insert link, with a descriptive link title for accessibility.
- Add images to break up long text.
- Switch to the HTML view if you need finer control.
After saving, preview the page. Shopify notes you might need to reload your browser to see saved changes, so don't panic if an edit doesn't appear straight away.
Make your pages work harder
Pages aren't just admin. A strong About page tells customers why to buy from you rather than a giant online retailer, and a clear delivery page removes doubt at the moment of purchase. Keep them short, honest and up to date. If you're improving your store's overall performance, this guide to what a good Shopify conversion looks like shows where pages fit in, and my e-commerce website checklist lists the pages and details every store should have.
Hidden pages for special cases
Hidden pages are useful beyond scheduling. You can create a page that only certain people know about, such as a thank-you page for a promotion or a page with wholesale information, and share the link directly. Remember a hidden page isn't password protected, so don't put anything confidential on it; it's simply not listed in your store.
Edit or delete a page later
To change a page, go back to Online Store, Pages and click its name. Edit the content and save, then preview it. If a page is no longer needed, such as an old promotion, hide it rather than deleting it straight away, and remove it from your menus. That way any links to it in old emails don't suddenly break while you decide what to do.

Keep pages up to date
Pages tend to be written once and forgotten. Set a reminder every few months to reread your delivery, returns and FAQ pages. Out-of-date delivery times or an old returns window cause more customer emails than almost anything else, and they chip away at trust when a customer spots the mismatch.
Contact pages with a form
For a contact page, many Shopify themes offer a contact page template that adds a form to the page. When you create the page, look for a template option and pick the contact template if your theme has one. Then add the page to your menu like any other.
My verdict
Online Store, Pages, Add page, then add a title, content and visibility and save. Always finish by adding the page to a menu, or customers won't find it. Write descriptive titles, schedule seasonal pages with a publish date, and make sure every store has About, Contact, FAQs and delivery pages.
