Discord Not Sending Verification Email? Fixes That Work

If Discord isn't sending your verification email, open User Settings and use the Resend Verification Email banner under My Account (on a phone, tap Account, then the Verify banner). Discord also asks you to allowlist its notification, support and noreply addresses and try again from another device. Its support team can't send the email by hand.

You sign up, wait for the email, refresh your inbox again and nothing turns up. It's a small thing, but it can stop you joining a client community, a creator's server or your own business group on the day you need it.

I've followed Discord's help centre articles on resending the verification email and on login and email problems. Where Discord is clear about what support can and can't do, I've said so plainly, so you don't waste an afternoon waiting for a reply that can't help.

Resending the Discord verification email on desktop or in a browser

  1. Select the cogwheel next to your username at the bottom left to open User Settings.
  2. Stay on My Account. A banner at the top says Resend Verification Email.
  3. Press that button to send the email again.
  4. Open the new email and follow the steps in it.

If you request it more than once, use the newest email you receive. Older links can expire, which is exactly the situation Discord's article describes for people whose first email has gone stale.

Resending the Discord verification email on your phone

  1. Tap your avatar in the bottom-right corner to open User Settings.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Tap the banner at the top that says Verify. That resends the email.
  4. Follow the steps in the message when it arrives.

If the Discord verification email still doesn't arrive

Discord says to allowlist three of its own addresses so your email provider doesn't hide the messages. They're the notifications, support and noreply addresses at discord.com. How you allowlist them depends on your email provider, but it's usually a contacts or safe sender list in settings.

Once that's done, ask for the email again. Discord suggests doing this from a different device if you can. If you're on a phone, try switching to mobile data, in case your wifi or a filter on it's getting in the way.

  • Check your spam, junk, promotions and any other filtered folders.
  • Make sure you're checking the same address you typed when you signed up.
  • Wait a few minutes after pressing the button before you press it again.
  • Try another device or network, as Discord suggests.

Discord email error messages and what they mean

Discord's login and email troubleshooting guide covers the messages people hit most often while adding or changing an address:

MessageWhat Discord says
Invalid EmailWait 24 hours before using the same email again. If it continues, contact Discord support.
Email is already registeredThat address is tied to a Discord account already. Try another address.
Email isn't found at loginDiscord says it means that address isn't tied to an account.
You are changing your e-mail too fastWait 24 hours, then try verifying or changing again.

If you see "already registered" and you know the address isn't on an account, Discord's guide says to contact its support team.

What to do if you can't remember your Discord email address

Discord's support team can't tell you which email is on an account, so you have to find it yourself. The guide suggests these routes:

  1. Check whether you're still logged into Discord on another device or browser. Under User Settings and My Account you can see the address.
  2. On the login page, type an address you think you used and press Forgot your Password. If it's tied to an account, a reset email will arrive.
  3. Search your inboxes for emails from Discord.
  4. If the account has a phone number, try logging in with that, then look at My Account.

Lost access to the email on your Discord account

This one is awkward. Discord says its support team can't change the email address on your account, so you need to get into that inbox. Its suggestion is to ask your email provider about temporary access. If it's a work address from an old job or a business domain you no longer run, the provider or whoever manages that domain is your route in.

It's a good reminder for creators and small-business owners to use an address you'll keep for years for community accounts, not a one-off address tied to a project. If you also run a server, my guide to deleting a Discord server covers what to know before you hand over or close a community, and changing your Discord profile picture is a quick job once you're verified.

When to contact Discord about the verification email

Discord's article says its support team can't send verification emails manually. That means you can't ask them to push the email through. You can still contact them through the Discord contact page if the steps above fail, if an error message won't clear after 24 hours, or if you think the address is wrongly marked as registered.

Say what you've already tried, which device you used and the exact wording of any error. It saves a round of back and forth.

Staying safe while you wait for the Discord email

Only use the Resend button inside the Discord app or site. Don't click links in messages that claim to be from Discord but arrive in some other way, and never share your password with anyone offering to speed up verification. Discord's support team won't need your password.

How do I resend the Discord verification email?

On desktop or browser, open User Settings and press the Resend Verification Email banner under My Account. On mobile, tap your avatar, then Account, then the Verify banner.

Can Discord support send me the verification email?

Discord can't change the address for you. Ask your email provider about temporary access to that inbox.
