Is Fortect Legit? Refunds, Renewals and PC Repair Claims (2026)

Fortect is a real PC repair and security product whose EULA names the licensor as Fortect Ltd. Its own pages offer a 60-day money-back guarantee on first purchases only. The catch is that paid plans renew automatically unless you cancel, so it's worth reading the cancellation terms before you pay.

A free scan that finds problems on your computer, followed by a prompt to pay, is exactly the pattern that makes people suspicious, so it's fair to ask whether Fortect is legit. I haven't run it myself. What I've done is read its own EULA, FAQ and home page, so you get the facts about who it's from, what it says it does and what you agree to when you pay.

What the Fortect suite claims to do

The home page describes a security, privacy and PC health suite. It lists PC repair, antivirus, browsing protection, a VPN, mobile security and a driver updater. The FAQ says it's available for Windows 10 and up and repairs stability, performance and security issues, including outdated drivers.

The home page also offers a free scan taking roughly 5 minutes, with premium offering fully automated repair. That's the commercial model in plain terms: the scan is how it shows you what it found, and fixing issues automatically is what the paid plan adds. That's common in this category, but it's worth knowing before you click scan.

Who stands behind Fortect

The EULA names the licensor as Fortect Ltd., a private company. The About page says Fortect isn't owned by any large corporations, which is the company's description of itself. It doesn't name founders or executives on the page I read.

That's less detail than a listed company would give you, so it's worth looking at the EULA and privacy policy yourself. A named company in the licence is better than none, but it isn't a verdict on the software.

Fortect refunds and the 60-day guarantee

Fortect's FAQ says it offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. The EULA is more specific: a full refund within 60 days of purchase, for initial purchases only, and renewed subscriptions are generally not eligible. That detail matters, because the guarantee covers your first payment and not later renewals.

  • Ask for a refund within the 60-day window, and do it in writing so you have a record.
  • Keep your order confirmation and the date you paid.
  • If a plan renews, don't assume the guarantee starts again.
  • Use the Manage Your Subscription page that the FAQ points to for cancellations.

Auto-renewal: the catch to read carefully

The EULA says paid plans automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before renewal. It also says you need to give at least thirty days' prior written notice before the end of the renewal period, and that an email is sufficient. That's a long notice period, and many people miss it.

The FAQ adds that you can cancel anytime through the Manage Your Subscription page, and that the trial is valid for 24 hours and can't be extended once it expires. Put a reminder in your calendar the day you buy. If you only wanted a one-off clean-up, cancelling soon after you pay saves you from a renewal you didn't plan for.

Security badges and what they do and don't prove

Fortect's home page lists badges for VB100 Certified, AV-TEST Approved, AV-Comparatives and AppEsteem Certified, and says its protection is certified by leading security labs. Those badges are the vendor's own listing. I haven't seen the underlying test reports, so I can't tell you what each lab found.

If a badge matters to your decision, visit the lab's own site and look for Fortect in its results, rather than relying on the logo. A badge on a company page is a starting point, not proof.

The EULA's warning and the limits of PC repair tools

The EULA says the software is provided as-is and that the company doesn't warrant it will be error-free. Plenty of software contracts say this, but it's a useful reminder that a repair or clean-up tool can't promise your computer will be fixed.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Before you pay for any cleaner or repair suite, take simple steps first: install pending system updates, restart, free up storage space and remove programs you don't use. Windows also has its own built-in security and repair tools. If your machine is slow or crashing, it's worth ruling out the free fixes before buying anything.

Strong account hygiene is part of a safe computer too. My tips to stop hackers touching your business website are written for site owners, but the habits apply to your own PC, and a password manager review shows how to keep unique logins.

Scams that use the Fortect name

PC cleaner brands are a favourite target for copycats, and for pop-ups that claim your computer is infected. A scary message in your browser isn't a scan result, and no real security company puts a phone number in a browser alert.

  • Download Fortect only from its official website, not from a search advert or a file-sharing link.
  • Ignore pop-ups or calls that say your PC is infected and push you to buy something or call a number.
  • Never let a caller take remote control of your computer.
  • Be wary of cracked or free copies of paid software, which are a common way malware spreads.
  • Check the web address before entering payment details.

My verdict on Fortect

It looks like a real, named product with published refund and renewal terms, so I wouldn't call it a scam. But it's a paid subscription that renews automatically, and its badges are self-reported. Read the EULA, set a cancellation reminder and weigh up whether a free fix would do the job first.
