Yes, Bangladesh is listed on Patreon's payout page for a bank transfer that turns US dollars into taka. It isn't on Patreon's PayPal country list, so the bank route is the one to plan around. The catch is cost: each payout carries a flat fee plus a conversion charge, and you'll need a W-8BEN before you can withdraw.
Creators in Bangladesh often ask me the same thing about Patreon: can the money go straight into a Bangladeshi bank account in taka, or will I need to build a workaround? I went through Patreon's own help pages and kept only what they say about Bangladesh and about creators outside the US, so you know what to expect before you set up a page.
Taka payouts: what Patreon's list shows for Bangladesh
Patreon's payout guide for creators outside the US includes a table of countries for the US dollar to local currency bank transfer. Bangladesh is on it, and the currency beside it reads BDT. In practice your balance sits in US dollars while you earn, and when you withdraw, Patreon converts it to taka and sends it to your bank.
The taka itself is issued by Bangladesh Bank, the central bank, and per Wikipedia one taka is divided into one hundred poisha. Patreon's pages don't promise a speed or an amount for Bangladesh, and I won't either.
Where PayPal fits for Bangladesh creators
Patreon keeps a separate article listing the countries where creators can be paid through PayPal. I read it through and Bangladesh isn't there. The payout guide says Payoneer Wallet and PayPal are available in all the countries on its bank list, so the two pages don't line up. Check the options shown inside your own Billing and payouts settings, and don't build your plans on a PayPal balance until you've seen it offered to you.
Bank transfer, bKash and the Payoneer Wallet option
Patreon's third option for people outside the US is Payoneer Wallet. It costs 1.00 US dollars per payout, with a 25 US dollar minimum, and Patreon describes it as typically more expensive than a bank transfer. The reason some Bangladeshi creators look at it comes from Payoneer's own page for the country, which says: recipients can withdraw to a local bank account or a bKash mobile account, or take cash out of an ATM with a Payoneer card.
That's Payoneer's description, not Patreon's, so check which of those routes your own account really shows. I've put together a separate page on Payoneer for Bangladesh if you want to see how that account works on its own.
Why there's no taka billing currency
Patreon lets you price and be paid in a short list of currencies: US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, the Nordic currencies, Hong Kong and Singapore dollars, New Zealand dollars, and the Czech, Hungarian and Polish currencies. Pesos and reals are accepted from fans only. Taka isn't on the list.
So you'll set your page up in a currency like US dollars and let the bank transfer handle the change to taka. If a fan pays in a currency different from your payout currency, Patreon adds a 2.5% conversion fee to that payment. You can switch your creator currency once every 31 days, and your available balance has to be zero first.
What the conversion costs you per withdrawal
Patreon says the US dollar to local currency transfer costs 0.25 US dollars plus 1.55% for the currency conversion on each payout, with a 10 US dollar minimum. The payout fee isn't listed in the dashboard fee breakdown, so it's worth working out the number before you tap withdraw.
Payoneer's page on Bangladesh makes a related point: barely any Bangladeshi banks offer foreign currency accounts, so creators who can't be paid in taka can face high conversion fees with traditional banks. That's one reason a direct taka payout can be easier to plan around than a foreign currency balance.
Tax forms: W-8BEN, and what Patreon's tax table leaves out
Patreon says all creators who aren't US citizens must submit a W-8BEN, or a W-8BEN-E for a company, before payouts can happen. You complete it in your Patreon settings under Payouts and Taxes, in the Tax settings section. Patreon says it tells the IRS your earnings aren't subject to US income tax.

Patreon's sales tax table, which shows where it collects tax on fan payments, doesn't have a row for Bangladesh. Patreon adds that in some places creators have their own tax duties, and recommends a local accountant. I'd do exactly that, because nothing on the help pages tells you how Patreon income is treated by Bangladeshi authorities.
| What I checked | What Patreon says for Bangladesh |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer to local currency | Bangladesh is listed, currency BDT |
| Taka as a billing currency | Not on the supported currencies list |
| PayPal country list | No entry for Bangladesh |
| Sales tax table | No row for Bangladesh |
| Cost of the dollar route | 0.25 US dollars plus 1.55% per payout |
| Form to file | W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E |
Holds, timing and how often you can withdraw
When you add or change your payout method, Patreon puts a five-day hold on your balance. After you start a payout it typically takes one to five days to show up, and you can only start one every 24 hours. If a withdrawal is bigger than one transfer can carry, Patreon sends the most it can and keeps the rest in your balance.
For a direct bank transfer you only need your bank details, such as the account number and the name on the account, typed with letters and numbers only. Patreon says no extra paperwork is usually needed and you don't need a Payoneer account for this option.
Planning your tiers around the fees
Because the bank route costs the same flat fee however big the withdrawal is, fewer, larger withdrawals tend to waste less on the fixed part. Patreon also notes there's an automatic payout setting that sends your full balance on the fifth of each month. If you're deciding whether Patreon is the right place at all, this comparison of other membership platforms is worth a look, and this guide to what Patreon keeps from creators covers the platform fee.
This isn't financial advice. Ask your bank about incoming foreign payments before you rely on any date.
