No, Saudi Arabia isn't on TikTok's published list of TikTok Shop regions, so there's no Saudi seller registration. TikTok's chief executive has said e-commerce would be piloted there first, but a launch date is only a rumour.
Saudi Arabia is the odd one out among the countries I've looked at for this topic. Saudi shoppers love TikTok, TikTok's boss has talked up the Kingdom as a place to test shopping features, and yet the seller site's region menu doesn't list it. That gap between talk and a published seller page is exactly where rumours breed, so let me separate what's official from what's just chatter.
What's official: the region menu leaves out Saudi Arabia
TikTok's seller site lists the markets where it runs local shops: the United States, Mexico and Brazil; the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan, plus a separate Global Selling site; and Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Saudi Arabia isn't on that menu, so Saudi Arabia isn't on TikTok's published list of TikTok Shop regions.
In practice that means no Saudi registration page, no list of local business documents, no riyal payout schedule and no Saudi affiliate programme published by TikTok. I can only report what's published, so I'm not claiming no one in the Kingdom has ever sold through the app in some other way.
What TikTok's boss said about Saudi Arabia
In 2024, TikTok chief executive Shou Zi Chew spoke to Asharq News about the Kingdom. Argaam reported that he said TikTok would pilot some new products, including e-commerce, in Saudi Arabia first, and that he put this down to Saudis being early adopters of technology.
That's a statement of intent about testing, not an announcement that TikTok Shop is open to sellers there, and it doesn't give a date. I'd take it as a reason to watch the seller site, not as a reason to prepare paperwork today.
What's rumour: a reported launch date
EcomCrew has reported that TikTok Shop may launch in Saudi Arabia at some point. The report cites industry sources quoted by a Chinese outlet, Ebrun, and EcomCrew itself says there's no official confirmation from TikTok or ByteDance. The same article points out that TikTok has had expansion plans that slipped before.
So here's how I'd treat it: interesting, unverified, and not a basis for ordering stock or paying a consultant. When TikTok publishes a Saudi seller page, you'll be able to read the requirements from the source.
Saudi creators and the riyal: what you can check yourself
The riyal (SAR) is Saudi Arabia's currency, issued by the Saudi Central Bank, divided into 100 halala, and pegged to the US dollar at 3.75. That peg is helpful if a brand quotes you in dollars, because the conversion is steady, though your bank may still add fees.
For creator income, here are the facts I can source. The Creator Rewards Program is open in eight countries and Saudi Arabia isn't among them. For LIVE, TikTok says you must be 18 or meet the age of majority in your country, viewers send Gifts, creators collect Diamonds, and cash goes to an external bank or PayPal account depending on region. I couldn't find an official page saying whether gifts are enabled in the Kingdom, so Creator Tools in your own account is the place to look.

TikTok also says affiliate rewards go to creators aged 18 and over when products sell through their videos and LIVE. Those sales need a shop in the market, which is why the seller menu matters for Saudi creators as well as sellers.
Routes Saudi creators and sellers have right now
- Build your audience on TikTok and take orders somewhere you control, such as your own website or a messaging app, in riyals.
- Agree paid videos directly with Saudi brands. The fee and the payment date are yours to set in writing.
- Look at other platforms that pay in the Kingdom. I've written about what YouTube pays per 1,000 views in Saudi Arabia and how much Snapchat pays in Saudi Arabia.
- Check the seller menu now and then. A Saudi entry would be the official sign.
If you're comparing, TikTok Shop in Nigeria is another case where a big TikTok audience has no local shop behind it.
Sorting rumour from fact: a quick table
| Claim | Status for Saudi Arabia | Source checked |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok Shop seller registration | Not on TikTok's published list of regions | TikTok Shop seller site region menu |
| E-commerce to be piloted in the Kingdom first | Said by TikTok's chief executive in 2024 | Argaam report |
| A launch at some point | Reported, unconfirmed by TikTok | EcomCrew report |
| Creator Rewards Program | No, not on the eight-country list | TikTok Creator Academy |
Before you spend money on a Saudi TikTok Shop plan
- Look for an official Saudi page on TikTok's seller site, not a screenshot.
- Be wary of anyone selling a Saudi TikTok Shop account or a promised approval.
- Ask a Saudi adviser about product standards and tax for anything you plan to sell, because TikTok's published pages don't cover them.
