How Much Does Snapchat Pay in Saudi Arabia?

Snapchat does pay creators in Saudi Arabia: the Kingdom is on Snap's payout list, so qualifying Snap Stars share in ad revenue from their Public Stories and Spotlight videos, mostly according to how long people watch, and Snap publishes no fixed rate per view. Payouts are made in US dollars through Hyperwallet from 100 US dollars upwards, and because the Saudi riyal is pegged at 3.75 riyals to the dollar, it's easy to see what that's worth locally.

If you're a Saudi creator posting daily Stories from cafes in Riyadh, family trips to AlUla and everything in between, the question isn't whether Snapchat matters in the Kingdom, it's whether Snap will pay you for it. It will, if you meet its rules, and the riyal's fixed exchange rate makes the numbers easier to read than in most countries.

Saudi Arabia on Snap's creator payout list

Snap publishes the countries and regions where Snapchatters can be paid. Saudi Arabia appears under Creator Midroll Ads within Stories, the Spotlight Reward Program and Lens Creator Rewards. It's in good company: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are listed as well, so the whole Gulf is covered.

That matters if your audience is spread across the region. A Saudi creator with viewers in Kuwait or the UAE is building an audience that sits entirely inside Snap's eligible area.

Who qualifies in the Kingdom

Snap's Monetization Program needs a creator with at least 50,000 followers. You also need fifteen thousand hours of view time in the last 28 days, and 3,000 hours or more of that has to come from Spotlight. Snap requires Snap Star status, an age of 18 or the age of legal majority, residence in an eligible country, and original content that suits advertisers and follows Snap's guidelines.

Two details catch people out. Spotlight videos only earn if they're at least 30 seconds long. And Snap Star status isn't tied to a follower number; Snap grants it to accounts with a large, engaged audience, regular public Stories and real notability, and says nobody is entitled to it. Snap also says it never takes payment for programme invitations, so treat any paid offer to get you in as a scam.

How Saudi Snapchat earnings are worked out

Snap places ads in your Public Story or inside your Spotlight videos, and you share in the revenue those ads make. The ads are served mainly according to how long people watch. So a Saudi creator whose followers watch every Story to the end will usually earn more than one with higher views but quick swipes.

There's no published Saudi rate per thousand views, and I'd be wary of any site that quotes one without naming where it came from. What drives your share is watch time, the advertisers bidding for viewers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and your niche. Track your own Creator Rewards Hub under My Creator Rewards to see your real numbers.

From US dollar rewards to Saudi riyals

Payouts go through Hyperwallet, Snap's payment partner. You set up a Payout Portal with your first and last name matching your full legal name. Rewards are Pending for 14 days before they turn Available, and you can cash out whenever at least 100 US dollars is Available. Snap converts your rewards to US dollars, then you withdraw to a bank account or PayPal, paying Hyperwallet's transaction and conversion fees.

Here's where Saudi creators have an advantage. The Saudi riyal (SAR), issued by the Saudi Central Bank and divided into 100 halala, is pegged to the US dollar at 1 US dollar = 3.75 riyals. So a minimum cash out of 100 US dollars has a predictable riyal value before fees, which makes budgeting far easier than for creators whose currency swings against the dollar.

Cash can take an additional 14 days or longer to reach you after you cash out, so build that wait into any plans.

US tax forms and Saudi creators

Snap's payout help points creators outside the US to US tax forms such as W-8BEN, and the taxpayer verification process can take up to 2 weeks. Saudi Arabia isn't on the IRS list of countries with a United States income tax treaty. I don't give tax advice, so check with a Saudi accountant about how your creator income should be handled.

Beyond Snap's ad share: other Saudi income routes

Plenty of Saudi creators earn more from brands than from ad revenue. Snap's Brand Partnerships setting lets eligible creators share profile analytics with Snap's partners and lets brands message them about collaborations, which suits the Kingdom's busy creator scene.

YouTube is worth running alongside Snapchat too. Both the standard and expanded YouTube Partner Program lists include Saudi Arabia, and my guide to YouTube earnings in Saudi Arabia explains how that payout differs.
