To find saved posts on Facebook, open Saved in the app, or go to the Saved page on a computer and click a category in the left menu. Everything you bookmarked is there, and Facebook says collections are set to Only me by default. Filters narrow it to Reels or Photos.
Saving a post on Facebook is a bit like tearing a recipe out of a magazine. It feels like a good idea at the time, and a week later you can't remember where you put it. The Saved area is where everything goes, and once you know where it hides you can sort it into collections. I've followed Facebook's own Help Centre articles on viewing saved items and on saving and collections, and I'll say where menus vary by app version.
Find your saved posts on the Facebook app
- Open the Facebook app and log in if prompted.
- Tap Saved (it sits among your menu shortcuts, and you may need See more to reveal it).
- Tap the saved item you want to look at.
Facebook's article for viewing the things you've saved is short and that really is the whole route. One useful note from the same page: the old Watchlist feature has been removed. If you used to mark videos to watch later, Facebook says they're now in Saved items, and there's no separate Watchlist section any more.
Find your saved posts on a computer
- Go to the Saved page on Facebook (from your Feed, click See more in the left menu, then Saved).
- Click a saved category in the left menu, or click a saved item to open it.
The categories are handy. Facebook's help page says you can check specific things you've saved by clicking the filter at the top and choosing one, such as Reels, Photos or Products.
How to save a post on Facebook so you can find it later
Finding something is easy once you've saved it, so here's that part. According to Facebook's Help Centre, you can save things like links or videos your friends post, events, Pages or photos.
- Click or tap Options (the three dots) in the top right of the post.
- Choose Save post, Save event, Save link or Save video, depending on what you're looking at.
For a Reel, Facebook says to tap Options while you're watching it and then tap Save reel. If you're after a saved Reel in particular, my walkthrough on where saved Reels end up on Facebook goes through it.
Facebook saved collections: sort what you keep
A collection, as Facebook defines it, is a customised grouping of saved items organised around a topic or theme. You can use the suggested collections Facebook offers, or make your own.
- From your Feed, click See more in the left menu, then Saved.
- Click Create new collection.
- Type a title for the collection and click Create.
Facebook's page says you can save something to a collection from your Feed or from Reels, and that you can add items to a collection later too. Think of collections like Recipes, Work ideas or Holiday plans.
Who can see your Facebook collections
Your saved items are for you. Facebook's help page says a collection is set to Only me by default. It also notes that you can choose or change a collection's privacy setting only by using the Facebook app for Android or iPhone, and that some collections let you add contributors to build them with friends. That's useful for something like a shared holiday-ideas list, but do check the setting before you add anything personal.
How to remove or unsave a Facebook saved post
- Go to your Saved page.
- Click or tap Options next to the item you want to take out.
- Click or tap Unsave.
Unsaving only removes the item from your Saved list. It doesn't delete the original post.

Saved posts versus archived posts on Facebook
People often mix these up, so here's a quick comparison:
| Where | What's in it | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Saved | Things you bookmarked from your Feed and Reels, plus your collections | You, unless you change a collection's privacy |
| Story archive | Stories you chose to archive after they left your story | Only you, according to Facebook's help page |
For your own older items, finding archived Facebook posts is the better place to look.
If you can't find a saved post on Facebook
- Check the filter. A filter set to Reels or Photos will hide everything else, so reset it to see the full list.
- Look in the right account. Facebook's help is about the account you're logged in to, so make sure it's the one you saved on.
- Look in collections. If you added the item to a collection, open that collection too.
- Update the app. Menu names and positions change between versions.
- Try a computer. Facebook's computer steps are the simplest of all: go to the Saved page and click through the categories.
Using Facebook Saved as a small business owner
I treat Saved as a swipe file. When I spot a competitor's post that gets lots of comments, an ad idea, or a customer question I want to answer later, I save it into a collection called Content ideas. Once a week, I go through the collection and turn the best ones into my own posts. It's free, private by default and takes seconds. If you then share something to your own feed, my notes on pinning a post on Facebook can help you decide what stays at the top.
