As of October 2026, Zoom Workplace Basic is free with 40-minute meetings, Zoom Workplace Pro costs $14.16 per user a month billed annually, and Zoom Workplace Business costs $18.33 per user a month billed annually, in US dollars. Enterprise pricing is by quote.
Zoom's still the default meeting tool for a lot of client-facing businesses, especially coaches, consultants and agencies who run calls all day. The free plan's 40-minute limit is the reason most people end up paying, so let's start there.
Zoom Workplace plans and prices
| Plan | Price | Meeting length | Participants | Licences |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | 40 minutes per meeting | 100 | 1 |
| Pro | $14.16 per user a month, billed annually | 30 hours per meeting | 100 | 1 to 99 |
| Business | $18.33 per user a month, billed annually | 30 hours per meeting | 300 | 1 to 250 |
| Enterprise | Contact Zoom | Not listed on the card | 1,000 | Over 250 |
These are the annual-billing prices Zoom shows on its pricing page. Zoom also offers monthly billing, and says paying annually costs less than paying monthly.
What the free plan gives you
- Meetings of up to 40 minutes with up to 100 participants.
- Meeting summaries for 3 hosted meetings a month and 20 AI queries a month.
- AI note-taking 3 times a month.
- 3 editable whiteboards and 5 two-minute clips.
- Team chat, and Gmail or Outlook and Google or Microsoft calendar connections.
Zoom also says participants can join your meetings for free from phones, desktops and tablets, so only the host needs a paid plan. My guide on whether Zoom is free covers the free plan in more depth.
What Pro adds
Pro's the plan most solo business owners need. Zoom lists 30 hours per meeting, unlimited meeting summaries, an AI note taker for Zoom, third-party and in-person conversations, unlimited AI document creation and unlimited clips. Pro also includes 10 GB of cloud storage per user for recordings, Zoom Mail and Zoom Calendar, and live chat support.
What Business adds
Business is built for larger teams, and it's where branding comes in. On top of Pro, Zoom lists 300 participants per meeting, company branding and vanity URLs, a custom mail domain with Zoom Mail, single sign-on and managed domains, and unlimited whiteboards.
The feature I'd point out to service businesses is the Scheduler. Zoom says Business includes appointment bookings, one-on-one, group or round robin, with automated reminders to reduce no-shows, and the option for leads to pay before the meeting in the US and UK only.
Add-ons that change the bill
| Add-on | Price (billed monthly) | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| ZoomMate | $20 a month | AI teammate that acts on your conversations |
| Large Meeting | From $50 a month for 500 participants | Raises attendee capacity up to 5,000 |
| Cloud Storage | From $10 a month for 30GB | More space for recordings |
| AI Productivity Suite | $10 a month | AI writing and analysis across Canvas, Sheets, Slides and Paper |
| Live Translation | $5 a month | Live audio translation and translated captions |
If you run webinars or big group calls, Large Meeting is the add-on to price first, because Pro alone caps you at 100 participants.
How to choose
- Count how long your calls run. If any go past 40 minutes, you need Pro.
- Count your biggest audience. If it's over 100 people, you'll need Business or the Large Meeting add-on.
- Decide whether you'll take bookings through Zoom. If so, Business includes the Scheduler.
- Pick annual billing if you're sure, since Zoom says it costs less than monthly.
- Check whether you need extra storage before your recordings fill the 10 GB on Pro.
If you're weighing Zoom against the alternatives, my comparison of Zoom vs Google Meet looks at time limits and pricing side by side.
Recordings and storage
Recording is where the plans quietly differ. Zoom's comparison table lists local recording only on Basic, local recording plus 10 GB of cloud storage per licence on Pro and Business, and local plus unlimited cloud storage on Enterprise. Zoom says local recordings save as MP4 video, M4A audio and a text file of the chat, while cloud recordings can be downloaded or streamed from a browser.
If you record every client session, 10 GB fills up, so either download and clear old recordings regularly or price the Cloud Storage add-on.
Support depends on what you spend
Here's a detail buried in Zoom's comparison table. On the paid plans, live chat support is listed for accounts with subscriptions over $10.00 a month, and live phone support only for accounts with subscriptions over $200.00 a month. On the free plan, both are listed only for admin or owner profiles with a Premier Support Package. So a single Pro licence gets you chat support, but it won't get you phone support.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
One practical tip: only the host needs the paid licence, so a small team can often share calls on one or two Pro licences rather than paying for everyone who attends.
My verdict
For a coach, consultant or freelancer who runs client calls, Zoom Workplace Pro at $14.16 per user a month billed annually is the plan to buy. It removes the 40-minute cut-off and adds unlimited meeting summaries, which on their own save hours of note-taking. Move to Business only when you need more than 100 people in a room, your own branding, or bookings built in.
Teams that meet on Zoom and chat in Slack should look at Slack plans and prices too.
