Zoho Books pricing in the US starts with a free plan and runs through Standard, Professional, Premium, Elite and Ultimate. As of October 2026, the paid plans cost $20, $50, $70, $150 and $275 per organization per month billed monthly, or $15, $40, $60, $120 and $240 a month billed annually, before local taxes, and the free plan stays free while revenue is under $50K a year.
Zoho prices per organization, not per user, and each plan includes a set number of users. That suits a small team, but it also means the jump from one plan to the next is often about users and limits rather than features you'll miss.
Zoho Books plans and prices (US)
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually (per month) | Users included | Invoices a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 user + 1 accountant | 1,000 |
| Standard | $20 | $15 | 3 | 5,000 |
| Professional | $50 | $40 | 5 | 10,000 |
| Premium | $70 | $60 | 10 | 25,000 |
| Elite | $150 | $120 | 10 | 100,000 |
| Ultimate | $275 | $240 | 15 | 100,000 |
Prices are per organization per month and exclude local taxes. Paying annually saves $5 a month on Standard and $35 a month on Ultimate. There's a 14-day free trial of the paid plans.
Add-ons and extras
Extra users cost $3 per user per month, or $2.50 per user per month billed annually, through the user add-on. Add-ons aren't available on the Free plan, with one exception: document autoscans. You can run more than one business from the same account by setting each up as a separate organization, which matters because the price is per organization. There's no contract: Zoho describes Books as pay as you go, so you can cancel the subscription at any time.
Support is part of every plan. The free plan gets email support, which Zoho says is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 am to 9 pm ET, and Standard and above add voice and chat.
What each plan adds
- Free: invoices, quotes, expenses and journals, recurring invoices, bank reconciliation, online payments, a customer portal, mileage tracking, W-9 management, 1099 contractor tracking and filing, and 50+ reports. Email support.
- Standard: progress invoicing, sales and use tax tracking, e-filing of 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC, bank feeds, recurring expenses, period locking, custom fields and reports, and API access. Email, voice and chat support.
- Professional: sales and purchase orders, multi-currency, timesheet billing, project profitability, retainers, inventory, price lists, approvals and custom user roles.
- Premium: basic revenue recognition, fixed asset management, budgets, cash flow forecasting, a vendor portal, custom domain and custom modules.
- Elite: advanced inventory with warehouses, serial and batch tracking, shipping labels, Etsy, eBay and Amazon connections, and up to 2 Shopify stores.
- Ultimate: advanced analytics with 50+ pre-built visualizations, KPIs and embedded reports.
What the free plan leaves out
The free plan is generous on invoicing but stops short in a few places that matter once a business grows. Bank feeds, sales and use tax tracking, recurring expenses, custom fields and API access all start on Standard. So does voice and chat support. If you reconcile by hand and don't charge sales tax, that may not bother you for a while.
Limits that decide your plan
| Limit | Free | Standard | Professional | Premium | Elite and Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bills and expenses a year | 1,000 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 25,000 | 100,000 |
| Scheduled reports | 5 | 50 | 200 | 200 | 200 |
| Receipt autoscans a month | 50 | 200 | 200 | 1,000 | 1,000 |
Exports are capped at 100,000 records in one report on Free through Premium, and 1,000,000 on Elite and Ultimate. Instant exports stop at 5,000 records for PDF and 20,000 for CSV, XLS, XLSX and Zoho Sheet; anything bigger is processed in the background and you get a notification when it's ready.
How to choose a Zoho Books plan
- Start with users. If it's just you and your bookkeeper, Free or Standard covers it; 4 or 5 people points to Professional.
- Check the free plan revenue cap: once revenue passes $50K a year, you'll need a paid plan.
- If you sell physical stock, Professional is the first plan with inventory, and Elite is where warehouses and online sales channel connections arrive.
- If you run projects or bill time, Professional adds timesheets and project profitability.
- Pay annually once you're sure, because it's cheaper on every paid plan.

The verdict
For a US freelancer or micro business under $50K in revenue, the Zoho Books free plan already includes W-9 management and 1099 contractor tracking and filing. Once you need bank feeds or a second team member, Standard at $15 a month billed annually is the realistic starting point. Check the user count before the features: that's usually what forces the upgrade. And if you sell through Etsy, eBay or Amazon, budget for Elite, because that's the first plan that connects to those channels.
