Wix business email is Google Workspace sold through your Wix account, giving you an address on your own domain, such as [email protected], with Gmail, Calendar and Drive behind it. You buy it from the Business Email page, choose one of three Workspace plans and set up an admin user, and you don't need a Premium plan to do it.
Here's the part to know before you buy. If you ever want to move the email out of Wix, the only place it can go is Google Workspace itself, and Wix calls that irreversible: once it's transferred to Google, you can't buy that business email through Wix again, as of October 2026. It's also non-refundable. And it's tied to your domain, not your site, so it keeps working even if the site isn't published.
The three Google Workspace plans on Wix
| Plan | Storage per user | Chat and Meet calls | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | 30 GB | Up to 100 participants | Business email, Gemini AI for Gmail, phishing and spam protection, 2-step verification, basic endpoint management |
| Business Standard | 2 TB | Up to 150 participants | Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Meet and more, recorded Meet meetings, Shared Drives |
| Business Plus | 5 TB | Up to 250 participants | Advanced endpoint management and Google Vault for eDiscovery |
Every plan now includes the Gemini AI assistant, and you get 24/7 support by live chat, email or phone. Prices depend on the plan you choose and you'll see them on the Business Email page. Some plans aren't available in every region yet. One limit worth noting: Wix only supports upgrading to a higher plan, so start on the smallest plan that fits and move up later.
Buying your business email
You need a domain in the Domains section of your Wix account first, bought from Wix or connected from elsewhere, and my guide on how to connect a domain to Wix covers the second route. A Studio site plan doesn't include business email, so it's always a separate purchase.
- Go to Business Email in your Wix account and click Get a Business Email. If you have more than one domain, pick the right one.
- Set how many addresses you want and enter the prefix for each, such as hello or sales.
- Select the Google Workspace plan and choose a Monthly or Yearly subscription.
- Click Continue to Checkout and pay. Your bank may ask you to verify your identity.
- Wait at least 5 minutes, then click Setup Business Email, enter the primary address and a password, add any extra users and submit.
- Sign in to the admin account and accept the Google Product Agreement and Terms of Service. You may also be asked to verify the domain.
That last step matters more than it looks. Until you accept the agreement, none of your other business emails can be accessed, and if you never accept the Terms of Service, the email's suspended and you'll need Wix Customer Care to sort it. Once it's activated, the account should be fully working within 24 hours. You can open your inbox any time from Go to Gmail on the Business Email page.
Adding more addresses for your team
Each person or department can have its own address, such as support@ or sales@, and you can buy several per domain. There's a cap of 300 business emails, and you can only buy 20 in a single transaction, so a team of 100 means five separate purchases. The first user you set up is the admin, who can add users and change the Workspace account. New users can take up to 24 hours to get access to every Google service.
Billing for extra addresses lines up with the original one. You're charged straight away for the time between adding the address and the original subscription's renewal date, and from then on it renews on that same date. Wix won't let you buy an address you already own, whether it's in your Wix account or somewhere else.
SPF, DKIM and MX records
Three DNS records decide whether your mail arrives and lands well. MX records let you receive email, and Wix adds the Google Workspace ones automatically if you bought the domain from Wix or connected it with name servers. If your domain's connected by pointing, ask your domain host to add them. An SPF record goes in the TXT field and gives your mail server permission to send for your domain, which helps stop spammers forging your address. A DKIM record proves your email came from a trustworthy source and wasn't changed in transit. Add both.
Sending limits and forwarding
Google Workspace caps how many messages each user can send per day and how many recipients each message can have. Hit either limit and that user can't send new email for a while, but can still receive. That's why your Workspace inbox isn't the tool for newsletters: use Wix email marketing or another campaign tool for those. You can forward mail to another address, use filters to route incoming messages, or set user-level routing to deliver to specific accounts. Wix doesn't support setting the email up on phones, but Google's own help covers Android and iPhone.
When the email stops working
Wix's troubleshooting starts with the domain. If your domain has expired, the email won't connect, so check that Premium Subscriptions shows a future renewal date next to it. Next, check the MX records under Domain Actions and Edit MX Records, making sure Google Workspace is selected. Then confirm you finished setup and accepted the Google agreement. If a renewal payment failed, update your payment method in Premium Subscriptions, and if the subscription's expired, Renew Subscription on the Business Email page reconnects it.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Ending your Wix business email
When you cancel, the subscription runs until the next renewal date. After that you can't read, receive or send email from the account. Google keeps the data under its own retention policies, so if you buy the email again within that retention period, everything's restored. The Gemini for Workspace add-on has a 30-day free trial: cancel inside it and you don't pay, cancel after and you pay for the first billing cycle before it ends.
My verdict on Wix business email
I'd buy it through Wix if your domain's already there and you want one place for site, domain and email, since the MX records sort themselves out. I'd start on Business Starter, because you can only move up. I'd skip it if you think you'll leave Wix soon, because the only exit is straight to Google with no way back. If you're on Squarespace instead, my guide to Google Workspace with Squarespace covers that side.
A professional inbox is the start, and clearing out the busywork behind it brings the real payoff. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Wix Premium plan to buy business email?
No. You don't need an active plan, but you do need a domain in the Domains section of your Wix account. Studio site plans don't include business email.
How many business emails can I buy on Wix?
Up to 300, bought in batches of no more than 20 per transaction.
Can I move my Wix business email to another provider?
Only to Google Workspace. It's irreversible, and once transferred you can't buy that business email through Wix again.
Is Wix business email refundable?
No. Google Workspace business emails and Gemini for Workspace subscriptions bought through Wix are non-refundable, though Gemini has a 30-day free trial.
Does Wix business email work if my site isn't published?
Yes. It's connected to your domain, not your site, so it works whether or not the site is live.
