Where to Get Free Infographic Templates (2026): Five Sources and What Each Lets You Download

The short version: you can get free infographic templates from Canva, Piktochart, Venngage, Visme and Infogram. All five let you browse and edit layouts, but the download is where they differ. Piktochart says you can export as PNG, PDF or both, Visme offers a high resolution image or PDF, and Infogram says PDF and image downloads sit on its Pro, Business, Team or Enterprise plans.

I love a good infographic. It's one of the few formats people share without being asked, and it turns a dull set of numbers into something a client will remember. The trouble is that 'free template' can mean free to look at, free to edit or free to download, and those aren't the same thing. Here's where to find the templates, and what I'd check before you spend an hour making one look perfect.

Five places with ready-made infographic layouts

In no particular order:

  • Canva: best for a design you'll reuse in a blog post, a presentation, a brochure or a website.
  • Piktochart: best for research and survey data, with editable chart blocks, stat callouts and icon sets.
  • Venngage: best for turning complex data into clear visuals, with an AI Infographic Generator if you'd rather start from a prompt.
  • Visme: best for drag-and-drop editing when you don't have years of design experience.
  • Infogram: best for infographics, reports and maps you plan to share online.

The catch: browsing is free, the download depends on the plan

Every one of these sites lets you scroll through templates without paying. The part that varies is what you can take away at the end. Infogram's templates page is the clearest about it: it says downloading your project as a PDF or an image is available on its Pro, Business, Team or Enterprise plans. Visme lists a free plan on its pricing page, but describes it as using a limited set of templates, assets and AI tools, so not every layout you see will be open to you.

Piktochart is more direct about formats. Its templates page says you can export as PNG, PDF or both, and Visme's templates page says you can share online or download a high resolution image or PDF file. Canva says you can download your design for printing or publish it online.

So here's my rule. Decide the export format you need first, then pick the tool. A print PDF for a brochure insert and a web image for a blog post are two different jobs, and finding out at the final click that your format sits behind an upgrade is a horrible way to end an afternoon.

Make the data the star, not the decoration

A template gives you a layout. It doesn't give you a point. The best infographics I see have one clear finding and a few supporting numbers, and everything else is there to help someone read it in a few seconds.

That's why the data features matter more than the pretty backgrounds. Piktochart says its templates include editable chart blocks, stat callouts and icon sets, so you can show survey findings or research data visually in minutes. Canva points to its grid tools for containing images and over a hundred fonts for presenting your data, plus a library it describes as over a million free and premium elements. Venngage's AI Infographic Generator creates ready-to-edit designs from your prompt, which is handy when you've got the numbers but no idea how to lay them out.

If you want to compare the design tools behind these templates in more depth, my roundup of the best infographic makers covers the editors themselves, and this list of free graphic design software helps if you need to tweak images before they go in.

How to turn a template into your own infographic

  1. Write your headline finding in one sentence before you open any tool.
  2. Decide where it's going: web image, print PDF or both. Check that the tool's plan gives you that export.
  3. Pick a template whose structure matches your data, such as a timeline, a comparison or a set of stats, rather than the one with the nicest colours.
  4. Swap in your own numbers, fonts and colours. Piktochart says every template is fully editable, from colours and fonts to sections and imagery.
  5. Cut anything that doesn't support the headline. White space is your friend.
  6. Export, then look at it on a phone. If you can't read the main number at that size, make it bigger.

Where an infographic earns its keep

Canva says its infographic templates are free to use as a blog post, a presentation tool, or part of a brochure or website, and that's a good list of places to reuse one design. Build it once, then cut it into a social graphic, a slide and a page in a sales deck. Piktochart makes a point I like too: its templates work for one-off explainers and for the infographic you update every quarter, where you swap your data and match your brand colours.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

That quarterly version is where the real value sits. A recurring infographic with your own numbers becomes a format people expect from you. If you're building slides around it, these free presentation templates for business pair nicely with the same colours and fonts.

If your team is making infographics and reports by hand every month, that's exactly the kind of repeat work I help businesses automate. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.

Canva, Piktochart, Venngage, Visme and Infogram all publish infographic template libraries. Piktochart, Venngage and Visme each list a free plan on their own sites.

Can I download a free infographic as a PDF?

It depends on the tool and the plan. Piktochart says you can export as PNG, PDF or both, Visme mentions a high resolution image or PDF, and Infogram says PDF and image downloads come with its Pro, Business, Team or Enterprise plans.

Which infographic template site is easiest for beginners?

Visme describes its editor as drag-and-drop, so you can customise layouts without years of design experience. Venngage also offers an AI Infographic Generator that builds a ready-to-edit design from a prompt.
