Ultrahuman Ring Review: Ring PRO Battery, Sensors and Catches

The Ultrahuman Ring PRO is a titanium smart ring that tracks sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, skin temperature and movement, with up to 15 days of battery on the ring and up to 45 days between wall charges using its charging case. Ultrahuman's FAQ says there's no subscription fee, as of October 2026: one purchase covers the ring and your data. The catches are that blood oxygen tracking is still in development and the ring isn't a medical device.

Smart rings live or die on three things: battery, comfort and whether the app tells you anything useful. I read Ultrahuman's Ring PRO page and its full FAQ to see what the third-generation ring changes, what it still can't do and what you're signing up for when you buy one.

What it tracks, and what's still missing

Ultrahuman lists temperature, a redesigned PPG heart rate sensor and a 6 axis accelerometer and gyroscope, which cover sleep stages, heart rate, HRV, resting heart rate, skin temperature, movement and workouts. The app turns those into a Sleep Index, Dynamic Recovery, Stress Rhythm and a Movement Index, and its Jade AI layer lets you ask questions in plain language instead of reading dashboards.

Here's the line in the FAQ that most reviews skip: blood oxygen (SpO2) is in development and will be released once it meets Ultrahuman's own accuracy standard. If SpO2 is the reason you're buying a ring, it isn't there yet. Ultrahuman also says the ring isn't classified as a medical device and shouldn't be used for diagnosis or treatment decisions, so think of it as a wellness tracker and take anything that worries you to your doctor.

Battery and the charging case

Ultrahuman says Turbo Mode gives roughly 12 days and Chill Mode more than 15, and a full charge takes about 2.5 hours. The PRO Charger is a case with its own battery, so you can go up to 45 days between wall charges, and it backs up ring data for up to a year. One thing to know if you're upgrading: the Ring AIR charger won't charge Ring PRO, because the PRO charges through direct magnetic contact rather than a wireless pad.

Sizing, returns and the stuck-ring rule

  1. Order and get a sizing kit first. Ultrahuman suggests the index, middle or ring finger, whichever fits most comfortably.
  2. If none of the kit sizes fit, you can still cancel within 3 days of receiving the kit.
  3. Once the ring arrives, you have 30 days from delivery to return it with all original accessories, and return shipping is free.
  4. The limited warranty runs for one year from delivery.
  5. If the ring ever gets stuck, Ring PRO has a marked cut zone inside the band, away from the battery, so a medical professional can remove it safely. Don't try to cut it yourself.

Upgrading from Ring AIR

Ultrahuman has made the switch fairly painless. Your data lives with your Ultrahuman account rather than the ring, so your history stays when you pair Ring PRO, and PowerPlugs carry over too. Your Ring AIR size and sizing kit apply to Ring PRO. You can trade in a Ring AIR or another brand's smart ring for credit, which Ultrahuman shows on the Ring PRO buy page for your region, and an active UltrahumanX plan moves across for the rest of its term.

If sleep is the main thing you want to fix, I've rounded up the best sleep apps for busy women, and if training is the point, this list of the best workout apps pairs well with a ring.

My verdict on the Ultrahuman ring

If you want a ring you can forget about for two weeks and no monthly payment, Ring PRO makes a strong case on Ultrahuman's own numbers. Buy it for sleep, recovery and habits, not for medical answers, and wait if SpO2 matters to you. If you already own a Ring AIR, your data and PowerPlugs carry over, but you'll need the new charger.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Ultrahuman ring need a subscription?

No. Ultrahuman's FAQ says there's no subscription fee, as of October 2026, and one purchase gives you lifelong access to the ring and your data.

How long does the Ultrahuman Ring PRO battery last?

Up to 15 days on a single charge, roughly 12 days in Turbo Mode, and up to 45 days between wall charges with the PRO Charging Case.

Does the Ultrahuman ring track blood oxygen?

Not yet on Ring PRO. Ultrahuman says SpO2 is in development and will be released once it meets its accuracy standard.

Can I swim with the Ultrahuman ring?

Yes. Ring PRO is water resistant to 100 metres, according to Ultrahuman's FAQ.
