Twitter (X) likes tab gone: Every Fix in Order for X (Twitter), 2026

If your Likes tab has vanished on X (formerly Twitter), it's usually a glitch, not a removed feature. Try refreshing the app, logging out and back in, clearing cache, updating the app, or switching between the app and browser. If none of that works, it may be a limited rollout change and there's nothing you can do except wait.

What's Going On With The Likes Tab

I've had a few people ask me why their Likes tab has disappeared on X (formerly Twitter). You go to your profile, look for the little heart icon where you used to see everything you've liked, and it's just not there.

Before you panic, I'll say this plainly. In most cases this is a bug or a temporary glitch, not a feature that's been permanently removed for everyone. X changes its layout often and sometimes things break or shift without warning.

That said, I can't promise your Likes tab will come back. Platforms do quietly test removing or hiding features for some users. I'll walk you through every fix I know of, in the order I'd try them myself. While the tab is missing, you can still view likes on X another way.

Check It's Not Just You

First things first. Ask a friend or check a second account if you have one. If their Likes tab is there and yours isn't, that tells you something useful straight away.

If nobody else has the issue, it's more likely a problem with your app, your account, or your device rather than a wider change from X. If everyone's missing it, it's probably a rollout affecting a bigger group of users.

Restart The App And Your Device

This sounds too simple to work, but it fixes more problems than you'd think.

  1. Close the X app completely, don't just minimise it
  2. Restart your phone or tablet
  3. Open the app again and go to your profile
  4. Tap the Likes icon and see if it's back

A full restart clears out small software hiccups that build up over time. I do this before trying anything more complicated, because it saves time if it's all it needed.

Update The App

If you haven't updated the X app in a while, that's worth checking next. Older versions sometimes have display issues that newer updates fix.

Go to your app store, search for X, and see if there's an update waiting. Install it, restart the app, and check your profile again.

If you're on the oldest version available and there's no update showing, your device might not support the latest release. That's a separate issue and one I can't fix for you here.

Clear Your Cache

Cached data can cause odd display problems, including tabs or icons not showing.

  1. Go to your phone's settings
  2. Find the X app under installed apps
  3. Select storage and choose clear cache (not clear data, that will log you out)
  4. Reopen X and check your profile

On iPhone, there's no direct cache clear option in settings. Instead, uninstall and reinstall the app. You'll need to log back in, but your account and likes themselves won't be affected.

Log Out And Back In

This one's simple but often works when a restart doesn't.

Log out of your account completely, wait a minute, then log back in. This forces the app to reload your profile data fresh rather than relying on anything stored locally.

Check your profile again once you're logged back in. If the Likes tab reappears, you're sorted. If not, move on to the next step.

Try The Browser Version

If the app still isn't showing your Likes tab, open X in a web browser instead, either on your phone or your computer.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Go to your profile page directly through the browser and look for the Likes section. Sometimes the browser version shows tabs that the app is temporarily hiding, or vice versa.

If it works in the browser but not the app, that confirms the issue is with the app itself rather than your account or your likes being removed.

Check Your Account Settings

It's worth double checking nothing's changed in your account or privacy settings that might affect what's visible.

Go to your settings and privacy section and look through anything related to your profile or activity. There's no specific setting that hides your own Likes tab from yourself, but it's worth ruling this out before assuming it's a bigger glitch.

If you manage someone else's account, check whether you're logged into the right one. It happens more often than you'd think, especially on shared devices.

When There's Nothing More You Can Do

If you've tried all of the above and the Likes tab still hasn't come back, I'll be straight with you. There isn't a guaranteed fix beyond this point.

X does roll out changes gradually, and sometimes features get tested on smaller groups before a wider rollout, or removed from some users entirely. If that's what's happening, there's no setting or trick that will bring it back for you.

Your best option at this stage is to keep the app updated and check back every so often. If it's a genuine platform change, most people tend to notice others mentioning the same thing happening to them around the same time.

I'd also avoid downloading any third party apps or browser extensions that claim to restore the Likes tab. These can risk your account security for no real benefit, and I wouldn't recommend them.

Frequently asked questions

Why has my Likes tab disappeared on X?

It's usually a temporary bug, app glitch, or outdated app version rather than a permanent change. Restarting the app, clearing cache, or updating usually brings it back. If it doesn't, it may be a wider rollout change outside your control.

Can I still see my old likes if the tab is gone?

If the tab has vanished from your profile, there's no separate way within the app to view your liked posts. Try the browser version of X instead, as it sometimes displays tabs the app is currently hiding.

Does logging out and back in fix the Likes tab issue?

It can. Logging out forces the app to reload your profile data fresh, which often resolves small display glitches including missing tabs. It's one of the quicker fixes worth trying before anything more involved.

Is there a setting that hides the Likes tab?

No, there isn't a specific setting within X that lets you hide your own Likes tab from yourself. If it's missing, it's down to a bug, an outdated app, or a platform side change rather than something in your settings.
