TaxDome Review: Seat Prices, Contracts and the Catch

TaxDome is practice-management software for small accounting, tax and bookkeeping firms, built around US tax work with an IRS integration on Pro. The catch, as of Oct 2026: it's priced per seat per year on a one, two or three-year commitment, Essentials is for solo users only, and every plan button says Request demo, so there's no card sign-up.

TaxDome gets searched by firm owners who are tired of juggling a CRM, a client portal, e-signatures and a separate workflow tool. I read TaxDome's own pricing page, and before you look at features you need to know how it sells: by the seat, by the year, and by how long you'll sign for.

TaxDome seat prices by commitment length

Plan1-year commitment2-year commitment3-year commitmentWho the page aims it at
Essentials800 dollars per seat a year750 dollars per seat a year700 dollars per seat a yearSolo users only
Pro1000 dollars per seat a year950 dollars per seat a year900 dollars per seat a yearFirms wanting collaboration, reporting and integrations
Business1200 dollars per seat a year1150 dollars per seat a year1100 dollars per seat a yearScaling teams with high client volume

Figures are dollars per seat per year as printed on TaxDome's pricing page as of Oct 2026, and every plan sits behind a Request demo button. Check the vendor's pricing page before you buy.

Contract length is the real TaxDome decision

There's no monthly price on TaxDome's page. Each plan has three prices, one for each commitment length, and the discount comes from signing for longer: Pro is 1000 dollars per seat on a 1-year commitment, 950 on 2 years and 900 on 3 years. That's a firm-wide decision you make before you've run your own clients through it, and because every button says Request demo, there's no checkout to start on a card.

Essentials is the second thing growing firms trip over. At 800 dollars per seat on a 1-year commitment it's the entry plan, but the page says it's for solo users only. The moment a second person joins, you're looking at Pro, at 900 to 1000 dollars per seat a year depending on how long you commit.

Seasonal staff are handled differently by plan, and it's worth reading slowly. On a yearly Pro plan, seasonal staff seats can be added at 100 dollars a month per seat. On a yearly Business plan, seasonal seats are 500 dollars per seat for a 4-month term, they auto-renew on the firm's unified renewal date, and the page says they're available initially for new clients. If your headcount swells every tax season, those lines may matter more than the headline seat price.

None of this is tax or legal advice. It's how TaxDome's own page lays out the cost, so you can go into the demo knowing which questions to ask.

What TaxDome bundles into each tier

Here's what the plan blocks list, plan by plan:

  • Essentials: an unlimited CRM built for accounting firms, a client web portal and mobile app, unlimited document storage and e-signatures at no extra cost, and ready-made automations for tax, bookkeeping and accounting workflows.
  • Pro: everything in Essentials, plus direct integrations with client general ledgers and transaction categorising with no per-client fees (120 connections included), an IRS integration that downloads transcripts directly to client accounts, AI-powered performance reporting, and team chat with 60 days of chat history.
  • Business: everything in Pro, plus Client Care, where TaxDome's support team helps your clients with platform questions, and bi-annual business reviews for firms with 5+ seats.

The IRS integration is the giveaway that TaxDome is built around US tax firms. If you're a bookkeeper rather than a preparer, the general ledger connections on Pro are probably the line that matters, with 120 connections included and no per-client fees.

If you're working out what to hand over to software first, my piece on what an accountancy practice should automate first pairs well with this, and so does this guide to AI tools that take on bookkeeping.

Which firms TaxDome is built for, and which aren't

Good fits:

  • Small accounting and tax firms that want a client portal, CRM, e-signatures and workflows in one place.
  • US tax preparers and tax resolution specialists who'd use the IRS transcript integration on Pro.
  • Firms ready to commit to a seat-based annual price, and happy to sign for longer to bring it down.

Poor fits:

  • Firms that want to start on a monthly plan or sign up without a demo call.
  • Teams of more than one person hoping to use Essentials, which the page says is for solo users only.
  • Practices with big seasonal swings that haven't checked how seasonal seats work on Pro versus Business.

TaxDome verdict for small firms

I'd book the demo if you're a US tax or bookkeeping firm that wants the portal, CRM, e-signatures and workflows in one place and you're ready to commit for at least a year. I'd only pick Essentials if you're a sole practitioner and plan to stay that way, because a second person means Pro. I'd skip TaxDome if you need a monthly plan or want to sign up without talking to anyone first.
