Swagbucks Earning in Pakistan: Does It Work?

The short version: Swagbucks does work in Pakistan in the sense that you can sign up, earn points, and cash them out, but the survey pool is thinner than it is for US or UK users, and the best payout option (PayPal) is awkward from Pakistan, which pushes most Pakistani users toward gift cards instead. If you're doing it for pocket money alongside other things, fine. If you're hoping it replaces income, it won't.

What Swagbucks is, in plain terms

Swagbucks is a US-based rewards site. You earn points called SB by doing small tasks: answering surveys, watching sponsored videos, using their search engine instead of Google, playing games, and shopping through their affiliate links. Once you've collected enough SB, you swap them for gift cards or, in some countries, PayPal cash.

It's been around since 2008 and it's legitimate, it's not a scam, that part gets overstated by scare-mongering YouTube titles. The real question isn't "is it fake", it's "is it worth your time if you live in Pakistan", and that's a different, far less flattering answer.

Does it work from Pakistan? Yes, with friction

You can create an account, verify your email, and start earning from Lahore, Karachi, or Islamabad without a VPN. Swagbucks doesn't block Pakistan outright. What it does do is limit which offers show up for you, and that's where things get uneven.

Survey routers (the bit that matches you to paid surveys) prioritise demographics that advertisers pay most for: US homeowners, UK parents, Australian pet owners, that sort of thing. Pakistan isn't a priority market for most survey panels, so you'll get screened out of a lot of surveys after answering three or four qualifying questions, which wastes your time without paying you a thing. That's not unique to Swagbucks, it's how the entire survey industry is built, but it hits non-US, non-UK users hardest.

A worked example: what two hours a day gets you

Say you spend two hours a day on Swagbucks from Pakistan, split between surveys, watching videos, and daily "Swagbucks TV" check-ins. A realistic breakdown looks like this:

  • Daily log-in bonus and search activity: roughly 5 to 15 SB a day
  • Watching sponsored videos (Swagbucks TV): 10 to 20 SB for 20 to 30 minutes, often with ads that don't load on slower connections
  • Surveys: you attempt 10, get screened out of 6, complete 4, earning maybe 30 to 60 SB total for 45 minutes of effort
  • Playing featured games through their partners: 5 to 10 SB, usually requiring you to reach a level that takes longer than the SB is worth

Add that up and a focused two-hour day gets you somewhere between 60 and 100 SB. One hundred SB equals one US dollar. So two hours of genuine effort nets you roughly 60 to 100 US cents, which at current exchange rates is somewhere around 170 to 280 Pakistani rupees. That's below Pakistan's own minimum wage calculated hourly, and it assumes you don't hit survey dead-ends, which you will.

The payout problem nobody mentions clearly enough

Here's the part that trips people up after they've already put in the hours. Swagbucks' cleanest payout, PayPal cash, requires a PayPal account that can send and receive money. PayPal doesn't offer full personal accounts to users in Pakistan the way it does in the US, UK, or India. You can technically receive money into a PayPal account linked to certain setups, but withdrawing it to a Pakistani bank directly isn't straightforward, and plenty of people end up needing a workaround like a Payoneer-linked account or a friend abroad, which adds cost and risk.

Because of that, most Pakistani Swagbucks users cash out in gift cards instead: Amazon.com (not Amazon.pk), iTunes, Google Play, or Walmart. That's fine if you want to buy something from Amazon.com with a US-facing account, but if you were hoping for rupees in your bank, you've hit a wall that the sign-up page never warns you about. This is the uncomfortable bit most "how to earn with Swagbucks in Pakistan" articles skate past: the headline earning potential assumes a US user with full PayPal access, and none of that applies cleanly to you.

Minimum cash-out thresholds you need to know

Swagbucks doesn't let you cash out your first 50 SB. Typical minimums are:

  • Gift cards start around 300 to 500 SB ($3 to $5 value) for smaller denominations
  • PayPal cash-outs typically start at 2,500 SB, worth $25
  • Higher-value gift cards (Amazon $25, for example) need 2,500 SB too

At the realistic earning rate above, 60 to 100 SB for two solid hours, reaching 2,500 SB takes somewhere between 25 and 40 hours of active effort. Spread over a month at two hours a day, that's three to five weeks of daily commitment for a single $25 gift card. That math matters because it tells you upfront what you're signing up for.

Where Swagbucks makes sense in Pakistan

It's not worthless, it just has a narrow lane. It works reasonably well as:

  • A way to offset digital subscription costs through gift cards, if you already shop on Amazon.com with a US card or gift balance
  • A side activity during downtime, like watching their sponsored videos while doing something else, rather than a dedicated job
  • Practice for understanding how reward and survey platforms work, before moving to better-paying freelance or remote work
  • A small top-up alongside other platforms, since there's no rule against running two or three reward sites at once

What it doesn't do well is function as a reliable income stream for students or anyone trying to build real earnings from Pakistan. If that's your actual goal, your time is far better spent on online earning websites for students in Pakistan that pay directly in a usable way, things like freelance writing, data entry, or virtual assistant work paid through Payoneer, which solves the withdrawal problem Swagbucks never does.

Three things to check before you bother signing up

If you still want to try it, do these three things first so you don't waste a week finding out the hard way:

  • Check what gift card options Swagbucks currently lists for your country by looking at the rewards page before you earn a single SB, not after
  • Decide now whether you're comfortable with an Amazon.com (not.pk) voucher, because that's your most realistic payout
  • Use a dedicated email for sign-up, since the daily emails and survey invites get heavy fast and clutter a main inbox

None of this is complicated, but it's the bit that determines whether you feel like Swagbucks "worked" for you or wasted your evenings.

The blunt comparison

If you want a quick gauge of whether Swagbucks earning in Pakistan makes sense for you, weigh it against a basic transcription or data-entry gig paying even $2 an hour through Payoneer. That gig, at $2 an hour, beats Swagbucks' realistic rate by roughly three to four times, and it pays in a currency you can withdraw without a workaround. Swagbucks isn't a scam, it's just built for a different user than most people reading this post, and pretending otherwise doesn't help anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I withdraw Swagbucks earnings directly to a Pakistani bank account?

Not directly. Swagbucks pays through PayPal or gift cards, and PayPal doesn't offer a straightforward personal withdrawal route to Pakistani banks, so most users rely on gift cards or a Payoneer-linked workaround instead.

Is Swagbucks legit or is it a scam?

It's legit, it's been running since 2008 and does pay out in SB points that convert to real gift cards or PayPal cash, the issue for Pakistani users isn't legitimacy, it's limited survey access and payout friction.

How much can a beginner realistically earn per day on Swagbucks in Pakistan?

Based on typical survey screen-out rates and video earning caps, a focused two hours a day usually brings in 60 to 100 SB, worth roughly 60 cents to a dollar, so daily earnings are modest rather than life-changing.

What's a better alternative to Swagbucks for students in Pakistan?

Freelance platforms and remote micro-jobs paid through Payoneer tend to pay more per hour and withdraw more easily than Swagbucks, and sites built specifically around options for Pakistani students cover several of these in more direct detail.
