Setmore is appointment-booking software with a free plan for up to four users, which suits solo practitioners and small teams such as barbers, tutors, therapists and consultants. The catch, as of Oct 2026: two-way calendar sync, recurring and video appointments, deposits and removing the Setmore branding are Pro-only, listed from 5 dollars per user a month on annual pricing.
Setmore gives a lot away on its free plan, so the useful question in any review is what Pro adds and whether you need it. I read Setmore's own pricing page and its plan comparison, and the line between Free and Pro is drawn by a handful of rows, not by how many appointments you take.
Setmore Free and Pro, row by row
| Plan | Price (dollars) | What's included | The limit that bites |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 | 24/7 human support, unlimited appointments, accepting payments, branded booking page, branded mobile app, email reminders and confirmations, integrations, iOS and Android apps, team collaboration tools, Reserve with Google | Up to four users, Setmore branding stays, no two-way sync, recurring or video appointments |
| Pro | From 5 per user a month on annual pricing | Unlimited users, the free features (with SMS on the Pro card's list), Setmore branding removed, two-way calendar sync, recurring and video appointments, custom service availability, deposits, Google review requests | Billed per user, so the bill grows with the team |
| Live Receptionist add-on | 99 a month | Calls answered by a professional team of real people, available around the clock | A separate plan, available in the US only |
| Larger organisations | On request | A custom all-in-one booking system built with Setmore | No figure listed |
Figures are as listed on Setmore's pricing page as of Oct 2026, in dollars, and Pro is listed from 5 dollars per user a month on annual pricing. Check the vendor's pricing page before you buy.
Where Setmore's free plan stops and the per-user bill starts
The free plan's limit isn't appointments, which are unlimited on both plans. It's people. Free covers up to four users, so a team of five or more is outside it, and Pro is charged per user. That's fine for a solo tutor and very different for a salon with a full rota, so count your staff before you count features.
The other limit is a short list of rows the comparison table marks Yes for Pro and No for Free. Those are removing Setmore branding, custom service availability (setting different availability for each service you offer), recurring appointments, video appointments and two-way calendar sync. Pro also adds deposits and Google review requests. If you run weekly sessions with the same clients, recurring appointments alone can decide it. If no-shows hurt your business, deposits are the Pro reason to pay attention to.
Two-way calendar sync is the one people miss. Without it, Setmore and your main calendar don't keep each other fully up to date, and that's exactly where double bookings creep in if you also book things outside Setmore. If your whole diary already lives in Setmore, you may not feel it. If it doesn't, you will.
Then there's the Live Receptionist. It's a separate plan at 99 dollars a month, with your calls answered by a team of real people, and the page says the service is available in the US only. If you're outside the US, it isn't an option, so don't factor it in.
What every Setmore account can do
Both plans list unlimited appointments, 1-on-1 services, group classes, and a custom booking and cancellation policy. Both include the iOS and Android mobile app and the desktop app. The free card lists 24/7 human support, payments, a branded booking page, a branded mobile app, email reminders and confirmations, integrations with other apps and team collaboration tools, and the free plan keeps Reserve with Google. For a one-person business that's a working booking setup without paying anything.
If you're still working out what kind of booking tool you need, I've covered appointment booking software for small businesses more broadly, and there are guides to AI appointment scheduling for plumbers and trades and scheduling for financial advisers if you're in either line of work.

Who Setmore suits, and who'll outgrow it
Suits
- Solo practitioners such as barbers, tutors, therapists and consultants who want a free online booking page.
- Small teams of up to four users who can live with Setmore branding.
- Anyone who'll add Pro later for calendar sync, deposits or recurring sessions.
Outgrows it
- Teams of more than four people hoping to stay on the free tier.
- Anyone who needs deposits, two-way calendar sync or unbranded booking but doesn't want a per-user bill.
- Businesses outside the US that want the Live Receptionist.
Verdict: start free, pay for Pro only for a reason
I'd start every small business on Setmore's free plan, because unlimited appointments, payments and a branded booking page cover most of what a solo practitioner needs. I'd move to Pro the day you need one of its rows: deposits to cut no-shows, recurring appointments for regular clients, video appointments, or two-way sync with the calendar you already live in. I'd skip Setmore if you've got a large team that wants those Pro features but won't pay per user.
