Is FragranceNet Legit? Authenticity, Returns and Shipping (2026)

FragranceNet looks like a real, long-running online fragrance retailer: its own About page says it was founded in 1997 and promises original products with no imitations. The catch is in the small print. Skincare, haircare and makeup can't be returned, refunds deduct shipping, and some products don't ship to certain places.

Perfume is one of those things where a price that looks too good makes you nervous, and FragranceNet is the name that keeps coming up when people search for discount fragrance. I haven't bought from it for this guide. Instead I've gone through its own About, returns and shipping pages so you can see what it commits to in writing and where the limits are.

Who is behind FragranceNet and how long has it been going?

According to FragranceNet's About Us page, the company was founded in 1997, when its team sold individual fragrance products on the streets of New York City. The page says online shopping then let it grow nationally. It also uses the Fragrance.com name, so don't be thrown if you see both.

The page describes itself as a trusted authority with 25+ years of experience and an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Those are the company's own claims about itself, so treat them as a starting point rather than proof. What I can say is that it's an established retailer with a long public history, not a pop-up shop that appeared last week.

What does FragranceNet say about authentic products?

This is the worry for most people typing the question. FragranceNet's About page lists a value it calls 100% Original and states there are no imitations or knock-offs. That's a clear promise, and it's the thing to hold the company to if a bottle ever arrives looking wrong.

A promise on a website isn't an independent audit, though. I didn't find the company saying it's an authorized dealer for every brand it carries, so I won't say that either. If you want extra comfort on a bottle, check the batch code, the packaging and the sealed wrap against the brand's own website, and keep the box and packing slip in case you need to make a claim.

How do FragranceNet returns and refunds work?

Its returns page is detailed, which is a good sign, and it's also strict. Here's the short version of what it says:

  • You can return items within 30 days of receipt for a full refund, minus shipping charges.
  • Items need to be unopened, in original condition, with the original packaging and packing slip.
  • You need an RMA number before you send anything back, and the parcel has to go with a trackable courier.
  • Refunds can take up to 14 business days after FragranceNet receives the return.
  • Return shipping isn't refunded unless the return is down to an error by FragranceNet.

The big exclusion is that skincare, haircare and makeup can't be refunded or exchanged, which the page puts down to health and safety. So if your basket is a perfume plus a face cream, the cream is a final sale. The page also says FragranceNet may refuse a return where it suspects fraud, abuse or misuse.

Can you cancel a FragranceNet order, and what if it doesn't arrive?

Cancellations are only possible in a short window after you order, and the page says the length depends on when you placed it. You'd use the order status page and choose Request Cancellation. Once an order is processing or shipping, it points you to the returns policy after delivery instead.

If a package doesn't turn up, you're told to notify FragranceNet within 15 days of the order date. That's a tighter deadline than many shoppers expect, so don't leave a late parcel sitting for weeks before you contact them.

Where does FragranceNet ship and what does it cost?

FragranceNet's shipping page says standard shipping within the US is free on orders of 59 US dollars or more, with the total delivery estimate for standard at 3-8 business days. It adds that free shipping is worked out after promotions are taken off, so a discount can drop your basket under the line.

It also serves Canada and Mexico, with free shipping over 59 US dollars for Canada and over 99 US dollars for Mexico. For other countries, the page says most international orders arrive in 4-15 business days, and it links separate sites for some regions. Freight forwarding addresses aren't accepted.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Check the restrictions before you order. Some aerosol and pressurized items can't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or military addresses, and certain skincare, hair care and fragrance products can't be shipped to California addresses. That's the kind of detail that only shows up late at checkout if you don't look for it.

Where could FragranceNet let you down?

Nothing here suggests a scam, but there are a few things I'd weigh up before ordering:

  • Refunds come back minus shipping, so a change of mind costs you something.
  • Opened or used bottles aren't eligible, which means you can't really test a scent and send it back.
  • Beauty products other than fragrance are final sale.
  • The cancellation window is short, and the page doesn't give a fixed length.
  • A low price on a big designer name should still make you check the seller and the packaging when it arrives.

Fake FragranceNet sites and how to stay safe

A well-known discount name is exactly what scammers copy. Lookalike shops and social media adverts use a similar name, the same logos and very deep discounts to get you to pay somewhere that isn't the real store.

  • Type the address into your browser yourself instead of tapping an advert or a link in a message.
  • Pay only inside the official checkout, with a card or a payment method that gives you dispute rights.
  • Never pay by bank transfer, gift card or a payment link someone sends you in a chat.
  • Be wary of prices far below everywhere else, and of any shop with no clear returns page.
  • Use the order status page on the real site for tracking and cancellations, not a phone number from a comment.

My verdict on FragranceNet

On what I can see, FragranceNet is a real retailer with a long history, a written authenticity promise and a returns policy that spells out the rules. It isn't perfect for everyone: you can't return opened items, beauty products are final sale and refunds deduct shipping. Read the returns page before you pay, keep your packaging, and shop only on the real site, and you're far better protected than most people who buy perfume online.
