eDreams is a real online travel agent from eDreams ODIGEO, so you book through it rather than direct with the airline. Its own help pages say cancelling in MyTrips doesn't guarantee a refund, because that depends on the fare and the provider, and Prime renews automatically unless you cancel before the period ends. Read those rules before you book.
People ask me whether eDreams is legit because it often turns up first in flight searches and the fares can look lower than the airline's own site. I think the useful question is a slightly different one: what happens when your plans change? I've read eDreams's own help pages and Wikipedia's company entry, so here's what they say about who runs it, how changes and refunds work, and where Prime fits in.
Who is behind eDreams
According to Wikipedia, eDreams ODIGEO was formed in 2011 when eDreams merged with GO Voyages and Opodo, and it lists five brands in the group: eDreams, Opodo, GO Voyages, Travellink and Liligo. It says the company has more than 21 million customers in 44 countries and floated on the Bolsa de Madrid in 2014. Wikipedia's page carries a note about promotional wording, so I've kept to the plain company facts.
So this isn't a pop-up site with no history. It's a listed travel group that sells tickets as an agent.
Booking with eDreams versus booking with the airline
This is the point I'd want any first-time user to understand. When you buy through an online travel agent, you have two parties involved: the agent that took your order and the airline or provider that flies you. eDreams's help pages reflect that split. They say, for example, that the provider processes your refund, and that the money arrives either directly from the provider or through eDreams, which emails you once it's processed.
It also means a change can involve two sets of rules, so keep the booking reference and the email address you used. You'll need both to find the trip in MyTrips.
Cancelling a flight booked on eDreams
According to eDreams's help article, you log in to MyTrips, choose Manage booking, then Change or cancel my trip, and follow the steps. The same article is clear that cancelling online doesn't guarantee a refund. It says what you get depends on your fare conditions, any insurance and the contracted services, and that you may receive a full refund, a partial refund or none.
- Most budget tickets are generally not refundable, according to the help article.
- For some carriers you may need to contact the airline to cancel, and eDreams says it will tell you when that applies.
- If you've already checked in, cancel the check-in with the airline first, because eDreams can't cancel a booking while check-in is active.
- If the airline cancels, eDreams's refund article points you to the cancelled booking in My Trips and the Didn't find an alternative option.
- For illness or death, the help pages say to contact eDreams directly.
eDreams admin fees on changes and cancellations
The US help page says eDreams charges an administration fee of 50 US dollars per ticket, unless you chose a Standard or Premium option when you booked. Fees can differ by country site, so treat that as the figure for the US pages and check the amount shown for your own booking before you confirm anything. Airlines can add their own cancellation fees on top, which is the second set of rules I mentioned earlier.
How long eDreams refunds take
eDreams's refund article says the provider generally takes up to 30 days to process a refund, and that you should then allow 5-7 days for the money to reach your account, depending on your bank and card issuer. You can follow the status in My Trips. It's wise to diarise the day you asked, because a refund that hasn't turned up after that window is a reason to write to eDreams with your booking reference.
What the Cancel For Any Reason add-on covers
eDreams sells an optional add-on called Cancel For Any Reason, and its help page says you can only buy it at the time of booking. Here's what that page says it does and doesn't do:
- It refunds your booking travel costs minus a 20% excess.
- The guarantee fee, eDreams fees and service options are not refunded.
- The maximum is 5,000 euros per person and 45,000 euros per trip.
- You must cancel no later than 24 hours before your first outbound flight departs.
- No-shows are excluded, and you can't cancel only part of a booking.
- The refund normally comes within 10 days of cancellation.
That's a flexible option, but it isn't a free one, and the excess is a real deduction. Work out whether the extra protection suits your trip before adding it.
eDreams Prime and automatic renewal
Prime is eDreams's membership. Wikipedia says it launched in 2017 and passed 7 million subscribers in 2025. The part that matters for your wallet is in eDreams's help pages: they say your Prime membership will renew automatically, that you manage it in My Prime Account in MyTrips, and that you need to cancel before the current period ends to avoid renewal.

If you only wanted one trip, check the confirmation emails and your account for a Prime membership after you book. Only the member of a Prime account can delete it, so if someone else paid for yours, they can't cancel it for you. Spotting fake eDreams messages and sites
Travel brands attract impersonators, and refund emails are a favourite lure. Open MyTrips by typing the address yourself rather than tapping a link in a message, and be careful with anyone who rings offering a refund and asks for card details. If something looks wrong, report it to eDreams through its help centre and to your card provider.

Is eDreams worth using?
eDreams is a real, long-running travel agent and its help pages explain the rules in writing. The catch is that an agent adds a layer: refunds depend on the fare and the airline, fees can apply, and Prime renews unless you stop it. If you're heading somewhere snowy, my guide to a first ski holiday is a useful read before you plan the next trip. If you book a flexible fare, read the cancellation terms before you pay, and note down the dates for any refund or renewal, it can work well. If your plans are likely to change, compare it with booking direct.
