HubSpot Landing Pages: Create, Customise and Publish Them

You can build HubSpot landing pages on any HubSpot plan, including the free tools, by going to Content, then Landing Pages, and clicking Create. You pick a theme template and edit it, or generate the page with AI, then set the URL, title and meta description and publish or schedule it.

Here's the catch. Free pages carry HubSpot branding, and removing it needs Content Hub Starter, Professional or Enterprise. Starter then caps you at 30 landing pages, and once you reach that limit you can't create or clone any more. If you're planning a page per campaign, that number arrives faster than you'd think.

What each plan lets you do, as of October 2026

On the free tools you also get a HubSpot-branded domain that's ready to publish on, so you can test pages before you connect your own domain. If you're weighing up the paid marketing tiers, my rundown of what each Marketing Hub edition includes goes further.

How to create a landing page manually

  1. Go to Content, then Landing Pages.
  2. Optionally click Set up Brand Kit to add your logo, favicon and colours.
  3. Click Create a landing page, or Get Started if it's your first.
  4. First time round, choose a theme and click Set as active theme.
  5. On the Select a template page, preview templates, then click a card and choose Edit manually.
  6. Edit the content, then open Settings to finish the page details.

What you can edit depends on the template. Theme templates support drag and drop, theme modules and theme styling. Custom templates are built in the design manager, and drag and drop only works on those that include drag and drop areas. To use a template outside your theme, click Other in the left menu.

Generating a page with AI, or with Claude

With Content Hub Professional or Enterprise, pick a template and click Generate with AI. Describe the page's purpose, audience, key content, tone and messaging, or use the Help me prompt dropdown for a starting example. You can add up to five files for context, plus a file for downloadable content, then click Generate with Breeze. You land in the editor with suggested copy, images, forms and meeting links to refine.

HubSpot also documents a route through Claude: set up the HubSpot connector, describe the landing page in Claude, then click Open in HubSpot to carry on editing it in the content editor.

The new content editor and its limits

HubSpot's newer editor, in beta, lets you edit text in place, add and move sections, and see desktop and mobile views side by side. Theme styles cover fonts, colours and elements, with up to four styles for elements such as buttons and forms, and changes apply to every page using that theme. HubSpot says credits aren't required to use it for now, though they may be in future. Know the limits before you switch:

  1. Only new pages can be built in it; existing pages, drafts included, stay in the legacy editor.
  2. Custom templates aren't supported, so those pages need the legacy editor.
  3. In mobile preview you can only resize elements and sections; text edits happen in desktop view.
  4. Publishing also publishes any changes to global sections and your theme.

That last point matters on a shared site. A theme tweak made for one campaign page goes live everywhere the theme is used.

Page settings worth setting every time

Open Settings in the editor for the internal page name, which visitors never see, the page title that shows in the browser tab, the domain and content slug, and the meta description, which Breeze can draft. The Featured image section adds the image used when the page is shared on social media, with alt text. Language sets the page language, and Audience access makes a page public or password-protected.

Advanced settings hold the more technical options: a HubDB table or property to make the page dynamic, Head HTML and Footer HTML snippets, a custom canonical URL, and stylesheets. If you attach a page stylesheet, domain and template stylesheets still take precedence, which explains a lot of styling that refuses to change.

If you switch the template on a published page, click Update first to push any unpublished changes live, or they may be lost in the switch.

Work with me

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Optimise, preview and publish

The Optimize icon shows SEO recommendations, with a red circle on categories that still have work to do, and lets you attach the page to a core topic or subtopic keyword. Preview shows the page on different devices and lets you test personalisation by contact or smart rule. Preview links are meant for people inside your account, and on a HubSpot system domain they must be logged in to see them.

Click Publish to go live now, or open Scheduling options to publish later. The same menu can schedule an unpublish date and redirect visitors to another page or an external URL when it comes down, which is ideal for event and offer pages. Pair a page with a HubSpot form to capture sign-ups, then route them onward.

My verdict on HubSpot landing pages

I'd use HubSpot landing pages if your contacts and emails already live in HubSpot, because every sign-up lands straight in your CRM. Start on the free tools to test, then move to Starter when the branding starts to cost you credibility. Skip Starter if you'll run more than 30 campaign pages, because the cap stops you cloning, and use scheduled unpublish so old offers retire themselves rather than counting towards it forever.

Landing pages are where AI page generation and automated follow-up save the most time for a small marketing team. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
