How to See Your Twitch Drops Progress (Chat and Inventory)

To see your Twitch Drops progress, open your Drops Inventory page for every campaign, or tap the Drops icon or banner in a live channel's chat to open the Drops & More panel. The panel shows progress for the channel you're watching. Twitch says you can only gain progress on one channel at a time.

Drops are the in-game items, badges and extras that some games and partners hand out to people who watch certain streams. If you watch Twitch for fun, it's a nice bonus. If you stream, or run a channel for a brand or a game community, knowing how viewers check their progress helps you answer the questions that land in your chat.

Everything below comes from Twitch's own Drops help pages. Twitch changes its screens from time to time, so if a label looks a little different on your device, follow the closest match.

Checking Twitch Drops progress in chat

Twitch says that when a channel is part of a Drops campaign, you'll see a banner at the top of chat and a Drops icon at the bottom of chat. Either one opens the Drops & More panel, so you don't have to leave the stream.

  1. Open a live channel that has Drops available.
  2. Look at the icon bar under the chat box. The Drops icon sits next to the Bits and Channel Points icons.
  3. Tap or click the icon, or the banner at the top of chat, to open the Drops & More panel.
  4. Pick a category to see the details and your progress.

If you can't see the icon, Twitch says it only appears when the channel has active Drops. A channel without Drops simply won't show it.

Reading the Drops & More panel

Twitch explains that the panel groups Drops by how you collect them:

  • Sub Drops: for a new sub or gift sub bought on the channel.
  • Watchtime Drops: for watching the stream for a set amount of time.

Each Drop shows the reward on offer, the game or partner behind it and your current progress, worded as how much more to watch. An EXPIRING SOON badge appears if the campaign is about to end. Twitch also says the panel works even if you haven't linked your game account yet, so you can track and claim before linking, but you'll need the link for rewards to reach you in-game.

Seeing all your Twitch Drops progress on the Inventory page

The chat panel only covers the channel you're in. Twitch says to visit your Drops Inventory page to see progress across all campaigns. It's the better place to go when you've been watching several streams, or when you want to claim something.

  • Each campaign shows its end date, so you can see whether it's still running.
  • The page shows which rewards are ready to claim and which you've already claimed.
  • Twitch says you can claim unclaimed rewards from the Inventory page for up to 7 days (168 hours) after a campaign has ended.

That seven-day window is useful. If a campaign ended and you forgot to press Claim, don't assume it's gone before checking.

Why Twitch Drops progress only counts on one channel

Twitch states plainly that you can only gain progress towards a reward on one channel at a time. If you've got two Drops-enabled streams open in different tabs, only one is counting. Close the extras, and keep the one you care about playing.

Streams have to be live too. Twitch says videos on demand, replays and clips don't count towards Drops.

Twitch Drops that need more than one day of watching

Some campaigns ask you to watch across separate days. Twitch says a day is a rolling 24-hour window that opens the moment you start accruing watch time towards that reward, so one day's requirement can run across two calendar dates.

If the window closes before you've watched the full minutes, Twitch says those minutes are discarded and don't carry into the next window, although days you've completed aren't affected. This isn't the same as a Watch Streak. A multi-day Drops requirement counts total days and they don't have to be consecutive.

Twitch Drops progress not moving? Quick checks

If the bar isn't budging, Twitch's troubleshooting guide gives a short checklist:

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  1. Is the channel Drops-enabled? Look for the Drops Enabled tag, the banner or the Drops icon. Not every channel offers Drops, even when the game has a campaign.
  2. Is the campaign still active? Check the end date in your Inventory.
  3. Switch off ad blockers. Twitch says browser extensions that block ads can stop progress tracking, so disable them and refresh.
  4. Are you watching more than one Drops stream? Only one campaign counts at a time.
  5. Refresh the page and look at your Inventory again.
  6. Are you watching live, not a replay?
  7. Is your connection steady? Poor internet can interrupt tracking.

Twitch says that if it still isn't working, contact Twitch Support with your username, the campaign name and the channel you were watching.

What happens after a Twitch Drop is claimed

Twitch splits the process into three steps: collecting on Twitch, claiming on Twitch, and delivery to the game. The last one belongs to the game developer, not Twitch. Most rewards appear in-game within 24-48 hours, some are instant and a few take up to 7 days.

  • Check that Inventory says Claimed.
  • Check which game account is linked, because rewards go to that account only.
  • Look in your in-game mailbox, inventory or cosmetics menu.
  • After 48 hours, contact the game developer's support, not Twitch Support.

Twitch also says the account link must show as connected on both Twitch and the game's site, and if it doesn't, unlink it on the developer's website, wait 5 minutes, and link it again.

Tips for streamers whose viewers ask about Twitch Drops

If your channel runs a campaign, you'll get the same questions again and again. A short pinned message helps: tell people to link their game account first, watch live, keep one Drops stream open and check their Inventory. If you're building a community around your channel, my guides to adding emotes on Twitch and raiding on Twitch are good ways to look after viewers once they're there.

Twitch also lets viewers switch off Drops notifications under Settings, then Notifications, in the marketing section, without losing the ability to take part. That's worth knowing if someone tells you the alerts are too noisy.
