How to Earn From Pinterest in Pakistan: Three Routes That Work

You can earn from Pinterest in Pakistan, but Pinterest itself won't pay you: there's no per-view payment and its Creator Rewards programme closed. Pakistani creators earn by sending Pinterest traffic to a blog, shop or channel, by managing Pinterest accounts for clients, and through brand partnerships, and Pakistan isn't on either of Pinterest's ad-account lists.

Search 'how to earn from Pinterest in Pakistan' and you'll find videos promising daily payouts for pinning. None of that comes from Pinterest. What Pinterest gives you, for free, is a search engine full of people looking for ideas. Turning those visitors into income is the skill, and it's one that works from Lahore or Karachi as well as anywhere.

The Pinterest earning myths to ignore

  • 'Pinterest pays you for every view.' It doesn't. The only direct payment scheme, Creator Rewards, ended on November 30, 2022, according to TechCrunch, and a Pinterest staff reply says there are no current plans to bring it back.
  • 'Reach a follower target and Pinterest starts paying.' There's no such threshold on Pinterest's help pages.
  • 'Pin affiliate links in bulk and earn passively.' Pinterest's Community Guidelines warn against deceptive or unoriginal links, and say excessive redirection or abused shorteners may be blocked.

Route one: Pinterest management as a freelance service

This is the route I'd look at first from Pakistan, because it doesn't depend on any programme being open in your country. Businesses abroad want Pinterest traffic but don't have time to make Pins. You can offer to design Pins, write titles and descriptions, organise boards and report on Pinterest Analytics for them.

  1. Build your own Pinterest business account in a niche, so clients can see your work and results.
  2. Learn Pinterest Analytics, which comes with a free business account.
  3. Package a monthly service: a set number of Pins, board clean-up and a short report.
  4. Ask clients to give you access to their account rather than sharing passwords.

If you're new to selling a service like this, my guide on making money helping businesses with social media covers how to find and price your first clients.

Route two: your own blog, shop or channel

The second route is to use Pinterest as free traffic for something you own. A recipe blog, a printables shop or a YouTube channel can all be fed by Pins that link back. Pinterest asks that links go to original websites that add real value, so a thin page stuffed with links won't last.

Start with a free Pinterest business account. Pinterest says new business accounts can only be created on desktop, or you can convert a personal account, as long as it's public. For more on building something that earns while you sleep, see my guide to earning passive income online.

A practical point on what to make. Pinterest recommends a vertical 2:3 ratio, such as 1000 x 1500 pixels, for promoted Pins, and promoted Pins have to live on your own business profile, sit on public boards and carry a destination URL with no link shortener. Even if you never run ads, designing every Pin to that shape and those rules means your Pins look right in the feed and stay eligible if a client or brand ever wants to promote them.

The niches that suit this route are the ones people plan ahead for: recipes, home decor, fashion, weddings, study notes and printables. Pick one you can make Pins about every week for a year, because Pinterest traffic builds slowly and rewards consistency.

Route three: brand partnerships on Pinterest

Once your boards have a following, brands may pay you to create Pins. Pinterest's paid partnership label is how you disclose that. You add it when you publish, because it can't be added later; the brand must approve the tag before its name shows; and only the brand can promote the Pin as an Idea ad, not you.

Why Pakistani sellers can't count on Pinterest ads

Here's the Pakistan-specific fact that changes the plan. Pinterest's ads overview has two tables: countries that can set up ad accounts directly, and countries served through its advertising partners. Pakistan doesn't appear in either. So if you sell products from Pakistan, plan on organic Pins rather than paid promotion, unless Pinterest adds Pakistan later.

Getting paid when the money comes from abroad

Whichever route you choose, the money arrives from clients, retailers or brands, not from Pinterest. For freelance clients abroad, agree the payment method before you start work. For affiliate programmes, check before joining that they accept members in Pakistan and can pay you there. I've covered local options in my guide to apps that withdraw to Easypaisa.

My advice for earning from Pinterest in Pakistan

Don't wait for Pinterest to pay you, because it won't. Learn Pinterest well on your own account, then sell that skill to businesses or use it to grow a blog or shop you own. It's slower than the videos promise, but it's real, and nothing about it depends on a programme being switched on for Pakistan.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pinterest pay in Pakistan?

No. Pinterest doesn't pay users in Pakistan for views, followers or pins. Earnings come from your own site, freelance clients, affiliate programmes or brand deals.

How can I earn from Pinterest in Pakistan without investment?

A free business account is enough to start. Build a niche account, then offer Pinterest management to businesses or send traffic to a free blog.

Can I run Pinterest ads from Pakistan?

Pakistan isn't listed in either of the country tables on Pinterest's ads overview, for direct accounts or for advertising partners.

Is Pinterest Creator Rewards available in Pakistan?

No. The programme ended on November 30, 2022, according to TechCrunch, and a Pinterest staff reply says there are no plans to restart it.

Can Pakistani creators do paid partnerships on Pinterest?

Yes. Use the paid partnership label when you publish; the brand approves the tag, and only the brand can promote the Pin as an ad.
