To cancel a Twitch subscription, go back to where you bought it. Web subs are cancelled at twitch.tv/subscriptions in a browser; subs bought in the Twitch mobile app are cancelled in the app under your profile and Subscriptions.
This trips people up more than it should, because Twitch keeps web and mobile subscriptions apart. I checked Twitch's help page on mobile subscriptions as of Nov 2026, and the rule is simple once you see it: you cancel in the same place you paid.
First, work out where you bought it
Everything depends on this. Twitch's mobile subscriptions guide says subscriptions bought in the mobile app can't be managed on twitch.tv/subscriptions, and web subscriptions can't be managed from your phone. Here's the split:
| Where you subscribed | Where you cancel | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| twitch.tv on web or desktop | twitch.tv/subscriptions in any browser | Works from any device, no phone needed |
| Twitch Android app (paid through Google Play) | The Twitch app: profile, then Subscriptions | Twitch recommends the app over the Google Play subscription manager |
| Twitch iOS app (paid through the Apple App Store) | The Twitch app: profile, then Subscriptions | Twitch recommends the app over the Apple subscription manager |
| Mobile app, but you can't use the app at all | Google Play or Apple's own web subscription tools | A last resort, per Twitch |
Not sure which it was? Open the Twitch app and look. Any subscriptions from another platform, such as the web, sit in an Other Subscriptions section, and you can't manage those from the phone. That tells you to head to a browser instead.
Cancelling a sub you bought in the mobile app
- Open the Twitch app and tap your profile picture in the top left-hand corner.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to manage.
- Cancel it from that screen.
This works for anything bought through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Twitch says to use the app rather than the store's subscription manager, and there's a good reason on Android: Google Play's manager doesn't show channel names for Twitch subs, so it's hard to tell which one is which. The app shows each one by channel name.
On the same screen you'll also see Disable Gift Benefits under any gifted sub, if you want to switch those off.
Cancelling a sub you bought on the website
Log in through a web browser and go to twitch.tv/subscriptions. That's it. Twitch says these can be cancelled from any device by visiting that address in any browser, so a laptop, a tablet or the browser on your phone all work. What won't work is trying to do it inside the Twitch app.
Lost your phone? How to cancel without it
Twitch has a section for exactly this, and the order matters:
- Bought on the web? Go to twitch.tv/subscriptions in any browser.
- Bought in the app? Log in to the Twitch app on any Android or iOS device. It doesn't need to be the one you subscribed on. Tap Profile, then the Settings icon, then Subscriptions.
- Can't use the Twitch app at all? For Google Play, visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and sign in with the Google account you paid with. For Apple, visit appleid.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and go to Subscriptions.
- None of that working? Contact Twitch Support.

What happens after you cancel
Cancelling doesn't cut you off on the spot. Once it goes through, Twitch tells you the day your benefits will expire, and you keep them until then.
Cancelled the wrong one? You can't reactivate it straight away, but you can subscribe again once your current benefits expire. And if you re-subscribe within 28 days, using any payment method, Twitch says your tenure and subscription anniversary carry on without a break. That's worth knowing if you care about your sub badge.

You can check your renewal date at any point: tap the Subscribed button on an offline channel, or on a live channel tap Gift a Sub under the video and switch to the Subscribe tab.
Refunds and getting help
This depends on the store again. For anything bought through the Android app or Google Play, Twitch says to contact Twitch Support, not Google Play, including for refunds, billing questions and missing emotes or badges. Have your Google Play invoice number from your email receipt ready.
For iOS, refund requests go to Apple support. Technical problems with benefits such as emotes, badges or ad-free viewing go to Twitch Support. Twitch doesn't set out refund rules on that page, so I won't guess at them.
Before you subscribe again
One thing I'd want every viewer to know: Twitch says you can save 25% by buying in an external browser instead of the Twitch app, and iOS users get the same benefits through mobile web. Subscriptions cost more in the apps because of the costs of selling through those platforms. If you're weighing up tiers, here's what a Twitch sub costs.
Quick answers
Can I cancel a mobile Twitch sub on the website?
No. Twitch says subscriptions bought in the mobile app can't be managed on twitch.tv/subscriptions. Use the Twitch app instead.
Do I lose my benefits as soon as I cancel?
No. Twitch tells you the day your benefits will expire, and you keep them until then.
I cancelled the wrong subscription. Can I undo it?
You can't reactivate it immediately, but you can re-subscribe once your benefits expire. Re-subscribe within 28 days and your tenure isn't broken.
Do I need the same phone I subscribed on?
No. You can manage app subscriptions from the Twitch app on any Android or iOS device.
