Everand's free trial is 30 days if you sign up on the Everand website and 7 days if you sign up through the App Store or Google Play. Everand's help centre says every trial includes 1 book of your choice from the full catalogue, plus titles you can read without using a credit, and it renews into a paid plan unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
That first sentence is the whole reason to read this page. The same trial is four times longer if you start it in a browser instead of the app. And the trial gives you one book credit, not unlimited reading, so pick your book carefully.

How Everand's book credits work
Everand plans now give you a set number of unlocks each month, which work like credits: one credit opens one audiobook or ebook for as long as you're subscribed. Its help centre lists three plans, as of October 2026:
| Plan | Price (US) | Books per month |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $11.99 a month | 1 |
| Plus | $16.99 a month | 3 |
| Deluxe | $28.99 a month | 5 |
During the trial you get 1 credit regardless of which plan you picked, so choosing Deluxe for the trial doesn't get you five books. You can switch plans during the trial in your account settings. Pricing outside the US may vary by country. If you use your trial credit early and want more, Everand lets you end the trial and start paying straight away.
Everand also says unused credits roll over for up to six months, and books you've opened stay available while you're subscribed.
How to pick your one trial book
With one credit, the choice matters. Everand's help centre says every book page offers a preview, either Play sample or Read preview, before you commit, so use it. A few tips from how I'd approach it:
- Choose a long book you'd otherwise pay full price for, such as a business title or a big audiobook, so the credit covers more hours.
- Listen to the sample to check you like the narrator before you spend the credit.
- Fill the gaps with titles labelled unlimited in the app, which don't use a credit.
- Download for offline listening before travel, which Everand includes in the trial.
The two catches when you cancel a trial
Access ends immediately
Everand says that if you cancel during your trial, access ends at once. That's different from a paid plan, where you keep access until the next billing date. Its own advice is to finish the chapter you're on first. So if you want the full 30 days, don't cancel on day two to be safe. Cancel in the last few days, but more than 24 hours before the end.
A pending charge isn't a bill
Some payment methods show a temporary hold when you start the trial. Everand says that's how it verifies your card, it isn't a charge, and it should disappear within a few business days.

Everand warns that cancelling on its website won't stop Apple or Google charges. Cancel where you signed up. And don't plan to pause instead: pausing isn't available during a free trial, only once a paid web subscription is active.
If you forget and get charged
Everand's refund policy says it considers refunds for charges within the last 30 days in certain cases, including unused subscription time. If you read or listened during the billing period, a refund generally won't apply, and it doesn't do partial refunds. EU and UK subscribers have a legal right to withdraw within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. App Store refunds go through Apple, and Google Play refunds go through Google.
A friend's link gets you more
Everand runs a referral programme: if a subscriber sends you their link, you get 2 free credits when you start your trial instead of one. Everand says this doesn't work if you've had an Everand subscription in the last six months.

My verdict
The Everand free trial is one of the better audiobook trials if you start it on the website: 30 days, one book of your choice and a good shelf of titles that don't need a credit. Sign up in a browser, not the app, ask a subscriber friend for a referral link if you can, and choose your one book with care. Cancel in the final days of the trial but at least 24 hours before it ends, remembering access stops the moment you do.
