As of October 2026, Crunchyroll costs $9.99 a month for Fan, $13.99 a month for Mega Fan and $17.99 a month for Ultimate Fan in the US, plus applicable taxes. Every plan is ad free and comes with a 7 day free trial for new and eligible subscribers.
Crunchyroll is built around anime, and its three plans all include the full library. What you pay more for is screens, new episodes soon after they air in Japan, offline viewing and extras like manga and games. Here's the breakdown from Crunchyroll's own membership page.
Crunchyroll plans and prices
| Feature | Fan | Mega Fan | Ultimate Fan |

| Price a month | $9.99 | $13.99 | $17.99 |

Crunchyroll marks Mega Fan as its most popular plan. All prices are before applicable taxes, and Crunchyroll's page also offers yearly billing, which it says saves compared with paying monthly.
Fan: one screen, full library
Fan is the cheapest way to watch Crunchyroll without ads. You get complete access to the library, but only on 1 device at a time. If you watch alone on one screen and don't mind waiting for episodes, it does the job.
Mega Fan: the plan most people need
Mega Fan adds the features that matter for regular viewers. Crunchyroll lists new episodes shortly after they air in Japan, streaming on 4 devices at a time, offline viewing, access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault and free shipping on store orders of $50 or more.
Offline viewing is the one to notice if you commute or travel. It's not listed on Fan, so if you want to download episodes, Mega Fan is the minimum.
Ultimate Fan: for collectors
Ultimate Fan raises screens to 6 and adds extras aimed at the most dedicated fans:
- Access to Crunchyroll Manga, which Crunchyroll describes as an entire manga library.
- Free shipping on all store orders.
- Early access to store drops.
- An exclusive swag bag after 12 consecutive months of subscription.
That swag bag only arrives after a full year without a break, so it's a reward for staying, not a sign up gift. If you tend to pause subscriptions between seasons, don't count on it.
What you can watch
Crunchyroll's page lists genres from action and adventure to comedy, drama, fantasy, romance, sci fi, slice of life, sports and supernatural. Titles it highlights include One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Solo Leveling, Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Z. Every plan includes complete access to that library, so even Fan gets the full catalogue: the higher tiers change how and when you watch, not what you can watch.
Simulcasts: why Mega Fan matters for new seasons
If you follow shows while they're airing, the line to read is new episodes shortly after airing in Japan. Crunchyroll lists that on Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan, and it isn't listed on Fan. For fans who want to watch the newest episode the same week as everyone online, that one feature decides the plan. If you mostly binge finished series a season at a time, it matters far less, and Fan may be all you need.
The small print on ads
All three plans are ad free, but Crunchyroll notes that plans may include trailers and promotional messaging for Crunchyroll content, services or related products. So you won't see third party commercials, but you may still see Crunchyroll's own promotions.
How the Crunchyroll free trial works
Each plan offers a 7 day free trial. Crunchyroll says the offer is for new and eligible subscribers, and the plan renews automatically after the trial at the price of the plan you picked. You can cancel at any time. If you're only testing, set a reminder for day six, so you have time to cancel before you're billed.

How to choose a Crunchyroll plan
- Count how many screens your household uses at once. One points to Fan, up to four to Mega Fan.
- If you want episodes soon after they air in Japan, skip Fan.
- If you download episodes for travel, choose Mega Fan or higher.
- If you read manga or buy merchandise often, compare Ultimate Fan.
- Check the yearly option if you know you'll keep Crunchyroll for twelve months.

My verdict
Mega Fan at $13.99 a month is the Crunchyroll plan I'd point most anime fans to. It's the cheapest plan with new episodes soon after Japan, offline viewing and 4 screens. Fan at $9.99 only makes sense if you watch alone on one device. Ultimate Fan at $17.99 is for people who'll use the manga library or buy from the store regularly.
Netflix carries plenty of anime too, so it's worth checking what each Netflix plan includes.
