Ecommerce analytics tools show an online store what's selling, what's profitable and which marketing brought each order. They split three ways: Shopify-first apps for profit and lifetime value, multichannel platforms that combine several stores and sales channels, and tracking and attribution tools that fix the data feeding everything else. Ten options follow in no particular order.
Most store owners already have the platform's own reports and a web analytics account, and still can't answer the questions that matter: which customers come back, which ads bring buyers rather than browsers, and how much of each sale is profit. That gap is what these apps are built for.
The ten tools below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from each vendor's own website, read as of Oct 2026. This isn't a GA4 guide; it's about the apps that sit beside it.

Shopify-only, multichannel or tracking plumbing?
Here's what I found reading the vendor pages. Lifetimely is profit analytics for Shopify stores, Peel Insights calls itself automated analytics for Shopify stores built for hard LTV questions, and Littledata is the data layer for Shopify. Glew is a commerce data platform for many brands and stores, and Triple Whale offers a data warehouse alongside attribution. Lebesgue now calls itself an AI CMO.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Two pages carry ownership news. Conjura's page says Wayflyer has acquired it, and it connects marketplaces and stores such as Shopify and Amazon, and Elevar's page now says it's part of Audiense. Fairing takes a different route to attribution: post-purchase surveys, with a free plan. So before you compare dashboards, check whether a tool reports on your data or fixes the data itself.
Three jobs ecommerce analytics does
- Profit and lifetime value. Cohorts, repeat purchase rates and profit after product and ad spend. The questions platform reports usually leave open.
- Multichannel reporting. One view across several stores, marketplaces and ad accounts. Essential once you sell in more than one place.
- Tracking and attribution. Server-side events, clean conversion data and surveys that ask buyers where they came from. Every other report depends on this layer.
Questions to ask an ecommerce analytics vendor
- Which store platforms and marketplaces does it connect to today?
- Does it calculate profit, and where does it get product and shipping data from?
- How does it attribute orders: pixels, server-side events, surveys or a model?
- Can it send key numbers to the place your team already looks, such as Slack or email?
- Who'll use it? Founders want a few clear numbers; analysts want raw data and exports.
- Can you trial it on your own store data before you commit?
Attribution is where most store reports go wrong, and my attribution cheat sheet explains the main models.

My plain advice on ecommerce analytics
Fix the data before you buy the dashboard. If your conversions don't match between your store and your ad accounts, start with a tracking or attribution tool, because a prettier report on bad data won't help. If you only sell on Shopify, a Shopify-first profit or LTV app will answer most questions without a data team. If you sell on several stores or marketplaces, a multichannel platform earns its place. Pick the three numbers you'll check every week and choose the tool that shows those best.
Get the basics right first: my GA4 setup checklist covers tracking, and there's a benchmark to aim at in good conversion rates for Shopify stores.

Frequently asked questions
What are ecommerce analytics tools?
They're apps that report on an online store's sales, profit, customers and marketing, beyond the store platform's own reports.
Do I need an analytics app if I've got GA4?
Often, yes. GA4 shows traffic and conversions, while ecommerce analytics apps add profit, lifetime value, cohorts and store-level data that GA4 doesn't hold.
What is server-side tracking for ecommerce?
It sends conversion events from your server to ad and analytics platforms instead of relying only on the browser, which can capture more complete data.
What is a post-purchase survey?
It's a short question shown after checkout, such as how did you hear about us, used to fill gaps in attribution.
Which ecommerce analytics tools work beyond Shopify?
Some on this list connect several stores, marketplaces and ad platforms. Check each vendor's integrations page for your platform.
What should a small store track first?
Start with conversion rate, average order value, repeat purchase rate and which channels bring buyers, then add profit once your product and shipping data are in.
