Best Baby Carriers (2026): 10 Makers by Age and Type

The best baby carrier is the one that matches your child's age and the way you want to carry. Makers sort their ranges by stage, from newborn to toddler and beyond, and by type: structured carriers, wraps and ring slings, hip seats, and a few no-waist-belt and twin designs. Pick the stage first, then the type.

A baby carrier is one of those things friends swear by, and then you open a shop page and find wraps, slings, hip seats and carriers with names that don't tell you who they're for.

This list covers ten carrier and wrap makers, using only what each one's own website says, read on 2 Nov 2026 (as of Nov 2026). It's alphabetical and in no particular order. It sticks to product lines and the stage and type words each maker uses, so you won't find weight limits or fit promises repeated here: those belong on the maker's own page and instructions.

Ten carrier makers and the ranges they sell

Artipoppe

Best for: Parents drawn to one carrier line, the Zeitgeist, with limited editions such as Halo and Clash, plus a ring sling, a baby wrap and carry videos.

Baby Tula

Best for: Matching a carrier to your child's age, with the Explore and Original marked 0-48 months, a Kid carrier for 2-6 years, baby wraps and ring slings.

BabyBjorn

Best for: Comparing three carriers, the Mini, Hold and Harmony, on one chart that sets out the carrying positions and fabrics of each model.

Beco

Best for: Choosing between the Gemini, the Gemini Hip Seat, the 8 baby carrier and the Toddler carrier, with the Ventura and Weave listed as new models.

Boba

Best for: Browsing carriers by age, from newborn to toddler and travel, alongside the Bliss, Classic and Serenity wraps, a ring sling and a toddler sling.

Ergobaby

Best for: Shopping by stage: the Aura wrap and Embrace for newborns, the Omni Lite, Classic and Deluxe for babies, and the Lift and Alta hip seats for toddlers.

Izmi

Best for: Families in the UK after a design its maker describes as a sling wrap's softness with a structured carrier's support, in baby and toddler ranges.

Kinderpack

Best for: Carrying from the baby years into school age, with Infant, Standard, Toddler, Preschool, Child and MAX sizes, made in small batches in Illinois.

LennyLamb

Best for: Finding a less common style, such as the LennyTwin adjustable twin carrier, the LennyHip or the Onbuhimo PRO, beside woven and stretchy wraps.

Moby

Best for: Starting out with a classic wrap or the Easy-Wrap carrier, with how-to videos and step-by-step instruction manuals on the same site.

Sorted by stage: newborn, toddler and beyond

Here's a split that's easy to miss: carrier makers sort their ranges by your child's stage as much as by design. Boba's menu groups its carriers by age into Newborn, Newborn to Toddler, Toddler and Travel. Kinderpack's own page title says 'Sizing Newborn-School Age', and its sizes run from Infant up to Preschool, Child and MAX.

Others put the age right on the label. Baby Tula marks its ring slings '0-24 months' and its baby wraps '0-12 months', while Izmi splits baby carriers (0-2 years) from toddler carriers (1-6 years). Ergobaby gives toddler carriers a menu of their own, with two hip seats and a sling in it.

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  • Newborn and baby: wraps and carriers a maker labels for the early months.
  • Newborn to toddler: carriers a maker labels from newborn to toddler in its own words.
  • Toddler and older: toddler, preschool, child or kid carriers, sold as their own models.

Carrier, wrap, ring sling or hip seat?

The second split is the type. A buckled, structured carrier is only one option. Moby's site is built around wraps, with how-to videos and instruction manuals beside them, and Artipoppe sells a ring sling and a baby wrap next to its Zeitgeist Baby Carrier. One UK maker here describes its designs as combining 'the softness of a baby sling wrap with the support of a structured baby carrier'.

Hip seats are a group of their own. Beco sells a Gemini Hip Seat, and hip seats sit on the menus of two more makers here. Then there are the designs you won't see on every site: LennyLamb lists the 'Onbuhimo PRO - no waist belt baby carrier' and the 'LennyTwin - adjustable twin carrier'. And if you'd like to see models next to each other before you choose, BabyBjorn sets out its three carriers on one comparison chart.

  • Structured carriers: buckled carriers sold by model, some with a comparison chart or a quiz.
  • Wraps and ring slings: fabric carries, some sold beside how-to videos and manuals.
  • Hip seats: hip seat carriers, listed by several makers here beside their main ranges.
  • No-waist-belt and twin designs: less common styles, both on one maker's menu.

Questions to ask before you buy a carrier

  1. How old is my baby now, and how long do I want to use the carrier?
  2. Do I want a structured carrier, a wrap, a ring sling or a hip seat?
  3. Will more than one adult wear it, and does the maker sell standard and plus sizing?
  4. Does the maker have a quiz, a fit check or a comparison chart to help me choose?
  5. Are there how-to videos or instruction manuals for the exact model?
  6. What do the maker's own instructions say about using it with a newborn?

Do you make baby carriers, wraps or slings? Tool makers can ask to be considered for a featured place on this list.

My advice for choosing a baby carrier

Start with your child's stage, then pick the type. If you've got a newborn, look at the wraps, slings and carriers a maker labels for the early months, and check whether it also sells a toddler model you'll move on to. If you're carrying an older child, go straight to the toddler, preschool or kid sizes. And for anything about fit, positions or how long to use a carrier, follow the maker's own instructions and videos for that exact model.

If you're also sorting out the nights, here's how to choose the best baby monitor. And once your little one's on the move, my tips for a calm bedtime routine for toddlers are worth a read.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a baby carrier, a wrap and a ring sling?

On the makers' own menus here, they're sold as separate products. Structured carriers come as named models, wraps and ring slings sit in their own wraps and slings sections, and one maker describes its designs as combining the softness of a sling wrap with the support of a structured carrier.

Which baby carriers are labelled for toddlers?

Several. Makers here sell toddler carriers as their own models or menus, and one marks a Kid carrier for 2-6 years. Another sizes its carriers from Infant up to Preschool, Child and MAX.

Is there a baby carrier for twins?

One maker on this list sells an adjustable twin carrier, listed on its menu beside an adjustable hip carrier and a no-waist-belt carrier. Check that maker's own instructions for how it's worn.

Which makers sell hip seats?

Several. One lists a Gemini Hip Seat, another lists the Lift and Alta hip seats on its toddler menu, and a third has a hip seat category in its shop.

Which of these makers are in the UK?

One maker on this list runs a UK shop. Several others have a country and region selector on their sites, so check you're on the right one before you buy.

How do I know which carrier fits me?

Ask the maker. Pages on this list offer a carrier quiz, a comparison chart, fit checks or a fit consultation, and one sells carriers in standard and plus sizing for the adult. Use those, and the maker's own instructions, for your exact model.
