Amazon Inventory Management Software (2026): 10 Compared

Amazon inventory management software forecasts demand, tells you when and how much to restock, and keeps stock in sync if you sell on other channels too. Some tools are built only for Amazon FBA, some manage many channels and some are full ERPs. Choose by how many channels you sell on and how complex your supply chain is. Ten options follow, in no particular order.

Running out of stock on Amazon doesn't just lose a week of sales. It can lose you the ranking you spent months building. Holding too much stock ties up money and storage space instead.

The ten tools below cover FBA-only planners, multichannel inventory systems, profit trackers with stock tools and small business ERPs. They're listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the vendor's own website, read this week. If you also sell offline, my list of inventory management software for small business covers wider options.

Amazon inventory management software at a glance

I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website or app store listing, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the page says the tool, or a plan or version of it, is free. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

Four checks Amazon suggests for any inventory system

Amazon's own Sell on Amazon guide on inventory management says to pick a system that syncs with your order fulfillment or selling system, provides demand forecasting, alerts you when items are running low and allows quick, easy barcode scanning.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Those four checks are a fair test for any tool on this list. A planner that doesn't sync with your channels means manual updates. One that doesn't forecast means you're guessing. Test each one against your own catalogue before you commit.

How to set sensible reorder points

  1. Work out how many units you sell on an average day.
  2. Add up your supplier's lead time and shipping time to Amazon.
  3. Multiply daily sales by that total to get your reorder point.
  4. Add safety stock for busy seasons and late deliveries.
  5. Review the numbers monthly, not once a year.

Forecasts are only as good as your data

Every forecasting tool uses your sales history. If you were out of stock for three weeks last spring, the tool may think nobody wanted the product then. Mark stock-out periods, promotions and one-off spikes so the forecast doesn't learn the wrong lesson.

Check the forecast against your own judgement for the first few cycles. My notes on the out-of-stock chain reaction show why a single missing product can cause bigger problems.

Signs your inventory process is costing you sales

  • You run out of best sellers. Raise reorder points.
  • Old stock sits for months. Order less, more often.
  • Channels show different numbers. You need one source of truth.
  • Restocks are a scramble. Set alerts, not reminders.

My plain advice on Amazon inventory tools

Match the tool to your model. If you only sell on Amazon, a dedicated FBA planner is simpler and quicker to set up. If you sell on several channels, you need one source of truth for stock, or you'll oversell. If you're building a brand with manufacturing and warehouses, look at an ERP.

Whichever you pick, set reorder points for your top ten products first. That's where a stock-out hurts most.

Frequently asked questions

What does Amazon inventory management software do?

It forecasts demand, suggests when and how much to restock, and keeps stock levels in sync across your sales channels.

Do I need inventory software if I only use FBA?

If you sell more than a handful of products, a restock planner saves time and helps you avoid running out.

What should inventory software include?

Amazon's seller guide suggests syncing with your sales system, demand forecasting, low-stock alerts and barcode scanning.

Can one tool manage Amazon and Shopify stock?

Yes. Several tools on this list sync inventory across Amazon and other channels.

How far ahead should I forecast?

At least your full lead time, from ordering with your supplier to stock arriving at Amazon, plus a safety margin.

Why does my forecast look wrong?

Stock-outs and promotions in your sales history can skew it. Mark those periods in the tool.
