Best AI SEO Consultants (2026): Pick by the Problem You Have

I'm Lilach Bullock, an AI implementation consultant, and this is my list of AI SEO consultants and agencies, matched to the problem you're trying to fix. I wrote it and I've included myself, next to iPullRank, Seer Interactive, Kevin Indig, Lily Ray, Omniscient Digital, Siege Media and Animalz. Pick the problem first, then the name.

"AI SEO" now covers at least five different jobs, sold under three or four different acronyms. Some people mean getting named when someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation. Some mean clawing back clicks from Google's AI Overviews. Others mean a technical audit, content that gets quoted, or training an in-house team. The best consultant for one of those can be the wrong hire for another.

A reality check from Google first

Before you pay anyone, read what Google itself says. Google's Search Central documentation on AI features says the best practices for SEO remain relevant for features such as AI Overviews and AI Mode, and that there are no additional requirements to appear in them, nor other special optimisations necessary.

That doesn't make the consultants below pointless. It means the good ones are doing solid search work, clear content and sound technical foundations, aimed at a new kind of results page. Be wary of anyone selling a secret switch. Every description that follows comes from each firm's or person's own site, as of Nov 2026. I haven't seen their client results, so I haven't repeated any.

Missing when someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation

Omniscient Digital's home page says it's an organic growth agency that gets B2B brands recommended across AI and search engines, and its site lists Answer Engine Optimization with the line "Get recommended by LLMs". It carries client testimonials describing SEO and AEO programmes and a move from traditional SEO into GEO.

If you're a B2B or SaaS brand and the gap is that assistants name your competitors and not you, this is a content-led programme aimed squarely at that. Two caveats: it's built for B2B, and testimonials are the clients' own words, not independent proof. Ask to see the pages they changed and what those pages are cited for now.

Watching AI Overviews take your clicks

Seer Interactive's home page title reads Enterprise AI Search, SEO and Paid Media. Its site lists GEO, SEO, paid media, analytics, CRO and SeerAdvance AI consulting services, and says it has published AI studies since January 2023, including a 2026 study on AI Overviews and click-through rate. It describes AI answers as reshaping visibility and says it studies, tests and builds around that.

The real pro is the research habit: if your worry is traffic sliding as Overviews expand, an agency that measures that question in public is a sensible call. The trade-off is fit. It positions itself for enterprise, and a small team may end up paying for a service mix it won't use.

A technical or enterprise-scale audit

iPullRank's home page calls it an enterprise and mid-market AI search agency. Its site lists Generative Engine Optimization, AI search strategy, an AI Search Manual and generative AI among its offers, and describes GEO programmes that span strategy, content, technical optimisation and measurement. It says its strategy work is built on what it calls Relevance Engineering and Resonance Design.

For a large site with real technical complexity, that depth across content and engineering is the attraction. A very small business is likely outside its target, so if you've got a forty-page site, start lower down this list.

Content that gets quoted and cited

Siege Media

Siege Media's home page title calls it a full-service GEO agency for brands, and its site says "We make brands the answer in search." It lists GEO, content strategy, content creation, content marketing and web design, and its blog covers GEO topics such as credibility statements and category leaders. It suits a brand that wants production and GEO from one place. It's agency scale and content-heavy, so it isn't the right call if you only want an hour of advice.

Animalz

Animalz's site calls it a content marketing and SEO agency for B2B SaaS brands. It lists Answer Engine Optimization and describes an SEO and AEO programme whose AEO listing includes strategy, audits and citation outreach. For a SaaS company, that's a tidy fit. For a local service business or a shop, the SaaS focus makes it a weaker match.

An advisor, or know-how for your in-house team

Kevin Indig

Kevin Indig's site calls him an organic growth advisor and the author of Growth Memo, and says he led SEO and growth at Shopify, G2 and Atlassian. It says he helps companies grow through search, AI visibility and research-backed strategy, and lists an SEO and AEO service, a sales narrative service and speaking. He suits a growth team that has people to do the work and wants a senior individual to steer it. He's one person and the work is advice-led, not done for you.

Lily Ray

Lily Ray's site calls her an SEO and AI search professional and says she founded the SEO and AI search consultancy Algorythmic. It also says she's currently VP, SEO and AI Search at Amsive, and it has pages for her videos, podcasts and webinars, articles and E-E-A-T. If your team wants to learn from a well-known voice on search quality, her public material is a good start. Her personal site doesn't set out engagement terms, so check through Algorythmic how working with her consultancy runs.

Work with me

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Running the business and wanting it done: my own entry

I wrote this page, so take my entry with a pinch of salt. I'm not neutral, and I'd rather you hire well than hire me.

I'm British, an AI implementation consultant and fractional CMO with 23 years in marketing, and I went all in on AI in 2024. I work in English, online, with clients worldwide. On my own site, between January and September 2026, Google clicks went from 1,322 a month to 6,412, and visits from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot went from 32 a month to 3,599. Those numbers come from my own Search Console and GA4, and the full case study on my site shows the month-by-month picture. It's one site, a single example, not a promise for yours.

What I'm not: a large agency, a tool vendor, or an enterprise technical-SEO shop with a team of engineers. If you need a full audit of a huge site, iPullRank is the better call. If you're an owner or marketing lead who wants one person to do the work on a site like mine, I'm a reasonable name to talk to.

Rather buy software or vet agencies yourself?

Some problems don't need a person at all. If you mainly want to track whether assistants mention you, my roundup of the AI SEO tools worth trying is the cheaper first step. If you're comparing agencies on your own, my guide on how to choose an AI SEO agency walks through the checks in more detail than I've room for here.

From long list to signed consultant

  1. Name the problem in one sentence. Not named by assistants, losing Overview clicks, technical mess, thin content or a team that needs training.
  2. Check yourself first. Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google the questions your buyers ask, and write down who gets named.
  3. Ask for one page they changed. What it said before, what it says now, and what it's cited or found for since.
  4. Agree what you'll own. Content, fixes, a tracking sheet or a trained team: know which you're paying for before you start.

My verdict: I'd shortlist two names from the row that matches your problem, ask each for one page they've changed and what happened next, and skip anyone who guarantees you'll be named by ChatGPT.

If you'd like one person to do the AI search work on your own site, that's the work I take on. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best AI SEO consultants?

It depends on your problem. I'm Lilach Bullock and I wrote this list, so I've included myself and said so. The others are iPullRank for enterprise audits, Seer Interactive for AI Overviews research, Omniscient Digital for B2B brands missing from AI answers, Siege Media and Animalz for cited content, and Kevin Indig and Lily Ray as individual advisors.

What's the difference between SEO, GEO and AEO?

SEO is getting found in search results. GEO, generative engine optimisation, and AEO, answer engine optimisation, are newer labels for getting your business named or cited in AI answers from tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews. The underlying work overlaps a lot.

Do I need a special consultant to appear in Google AI Overviews?

Not necessarily. Google's own documentation says SEO best practices still apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode, and there are no extra requirements or special optimisations needed to appear. A consultant helps by doing the fundamentals well, not by finding a secret switch.

How do I check whether ChatGPT recommends my business?

Ask it the questions your buyers ask, in their words, and note who gets named. Repeat in Perplexity and Google, and keep a simple sheet so you can see changes over a few months. Answers vary, so check more than once.

Should I hire an agency, a consultant or an in-house person?

An agency suits a big site or a lot of content production. An individual consultant suits a smaller business or a team that needs senior advice. An in-house hire makes sense once the work is steady enough to fill a full-time role.

Can a consultant guarantee I'll be cited by ChatGPT?

No. Nobody controls what an assistant says, so skip anyone who promises it. A good consultant can improve the pages assistants draw on and show you what changed, but citations are earned and they move over time.
