An AI rap generator turns a topic, a mood or your own lyrics into rap bars, and many go further with a beat, AI vocals or a performance video. Choose by whether you want words only or a finished track, and read the terms on who owns the result. Ten options follow, in no particular order.
Some people want a few sharp bars for a birthday video. Others want a full track with a beat and vocals they can post. The tools that call themselves rap generators split roughly down that line, so it pays to know which camp you're in before you start typing.
The ten generators below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description comes from the vendor's own website, read this week. If you'd like background music without vocals, my guide to free AI background music for videos covers that side.

Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

Who owns an AI-made rap
The U.S. Copyright Office is publishing its Copyright and Artificial Intelligence report in parts. Part 2, published on January 29, 2025, addresses whether outputs created using generative AI can be protected by copyright at all.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
That's the question most people skip. If the AI wrote every bar, you may not be able to stop someone else using them, and each tool's own terms decide what you can do with the audio. If the track matters to you, write the hook and the key lines yourself and let the AI help with the rest.
How to get bars worth keeping
- Give it a subject and an angle, not just a topic, such as a rivalry, a comeback or a birthday.
- Name the style you want, such as boom bap, drill, trap or melodic.
- Ask for a hook first, then verses that point back to it.
- Read the lines out loud and cut any that don't fit your breath.
- Swap generic rhymes for details only you and your audience know.
Lyrics generator, song generator or video maker
A lyrics-only generator suits rappers who already have a beat and their own voice. You get words to rework, nothing more, and that keeps the performance yours.
A song generator writes, raps and produces in one go, which suits jokes, gifts and social clips where speed matters more than ownership. A video maker adds a performer on screen, which is what short-form creators usually want. Want to know what the streaming side looks like? Mistakes that make AI raps sound fake
- Rhymes with no story. Every line rhymes and nothing happens.
- Real artist names in the prompt. Several tools ask you not to, and it can cause trouble later.
- One long verse. Rap needs a hook people can repeat.
- Keeping the first take. Regenerate, compare and mix the best lines.
Signs your AI rap needs another pass
- You can't rap it in one breath. Cut syllables.
- The hook doesn't stick. Make it shorter.
- Nothing is specific. Add a name or a place.
- It sounds like every other track. Change the style prompt.

My plain advice on AI rap tools
Decide first whether you need words, a song or a video, because that one choice cuts the list in half. Then try two tools with the same prompt and keep the one whose lines sound most like something you'd say.
Treat the AI as a writing partner, not the artist. The bars that land are the ones with your names, places and jokes in them, and no generator can supply those for you.
Rap battles often lean on roasts, and AI roast generators compares tools for those.
Frequently asked questions
What is an AI rap generator?
A tool that writes rap lyrics from a topic, mood or style, and in many cases adds a beat, AI vocals or a performance video.
Can AI make a full rap song?
Yes. Several tools write the lyrics, rap them with an AI voice and produce the beat from one short prompt.
Can I use an AI rap song on YouTube or TikTok?
It depends on the tool's terms. Some say tracks are royalty-free for your projects, so read the licence before you post.
Do I own a rap written by AI?
Not always. Copyright for AI outputs is still being worked out, so writing the key lines yourself is the safest route.
Is there a free AI rap generator?
Several tools on this list name a free version or free credits on their own site, as shown in the table.
Can AI write a diss track?
Yes, but keep it playful. Use invented jokes, not claims about a real person that could hurt their reputation.
