An AI golf swing analyzer records your swing on a phone, tracks your body and club, then tells you what went wrong and what to work on. Some give voice feedback after every shot, while others build a 3D model of your movement. Ten apps follow in no particular order, almost all from small, specialist teams.
Most golfers know their swing has a fault. Few know which one, and a lesson every week isn't realistic. That's why swing analyzers have become such a popular practice tool: you film a swing on the range, and within seconds you've got feedback on what your body did.
The ten apps below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the app's own website or App Store listing, read this week. Some work in a browser, most are phone apps, and a few connect you with a human coach as well. If you're new to the game, start with my golf for beginners guide before you worry about swing data.
AI golf swing analyzers compared
I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website or App Store listing, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the page names a free plan, a free version, a free account or free use. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the page I read named neither, so check the tool's own site before you sign up.

What the Rules of Golf allow
If you play in competitions, this matters. Rule 4.3a of the Rules of Golf, published by The R&A, allows a player to record playing information during a round for use after the round, but not to process or interpret it during the round. The same rule also bars using a training or swing aid to help make a stroke.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
In practice that means swing analysis belongs on the range, in lessons and in casual practice rounds. Keep the app switched off when you're playing a competition, and review the footage afterwards.
If you'd like to practise indoors, golf simulator software is the next step.
Filming a swing the app can read
- Use a phone holder or a tripod, so the camera stays still.
- Film face-on or down the line, whichever angle the app asks for.
- Get your whole body and the club in the frame, from address to finish.
- Pick a spot with good light and a plain background where you can.
- Work on one fault at a time, not everything the app flags.
The same idea of instant feedback applies to chess coaches.
Using swing data without overthinking
The risk with any analyzer is paralysis. You see six numbers, try to fix all of them, and your swing falls apart. Pick the one thing that matters most, practise it until it feels normal, then film again. If you're stuck, take the footage to a coach, because a good teacher plus your own video beats either on its own.

My plain advice on picking a swing analyzer
Choose the app that fits how you practise: voice feedback if you hit balls on your own, 3D analysis if you love data, and coach sharing if you already take lessons. Film from the same angle every time, fix one thing at a time, and keep the app out of competition rounds.

Frequently asked questions
What is an AI golf swing analyzer?
It's an app that films your golf swing, tracks your body and club with AI, and gives feedback on what to work on.
Can I use a swing analyzer during a round?
Not in competition to process or interpret information during the round. Rule 4.3a of the Rules of Golf allows recording for use after the round.
Do AI swing analyzers need extra sensors?
Most apps here work from your phone camera alone. Some can link to other devices, so check each app's own page.
Can an AI app replace a golf coach?
It can give you useful feedback between lessons, but a good coach still sees things an app misses. Several apps here let you share video with a coach.
Is there a free AI golf swing analyzer?
Yes. A few apps here name a free plan or free use on their own page, so check the free plan column before you download.
