Google's payment-hold page names missing tax information, an unverified identity, an unverified address, no payment method set up, a self-hold and a compliance review. It adds that the alerts on your Payments page often say exactly what to do. A compliance review clears by itself once Google finishes, provided your account follows the AdSense Program policies and your traffic is valid.

A self-hold is the one you control. Google says you can pause payments for up to one year and that you must place the hold by the 20th to postpone that month's payment. It's useful if you want your earnings to build up into one larger payout, but remember to remove it when you're ready.

Identity first, then the postal PIN

Google says you have 45 days from its first request to submit your identity documents, and address verification follows once that's done. The address step is a unique 6-digit PIN sent by international standard mail, with no tracking number. It usually takes 3 weeks. If it hasn't arrived, you can ask for a replacement. You have 4 months from when the PIN is generated to enter it, and three wrong tries stop your account showing ads.

Google publishes the official names of tax residency certificates for selected countries. For Bangladesh, the document is simply called 'Tax Residency Certificate'. That's the point to hand over to a local accountant. They can tell you whether your certificate, your form and your kind of income line up. If tax information is required and you don't submit it, Google says your payout may face a higher withholding deduction.

Taka, dollars and the thresholds

The Bangladeshi taka isn't a row in Google's threshold table, so there's no taka figure to quote. For a US dollar account, the payment method selection threshold is 10 and the payment threshold is 100. The identity verification threshold is 0 and the address verification threshold is 10. Google also says you can't change your payment currency, so check which currency your account uses before you plan around it.

A wire goes to the bank you choose, in US dollars or Euros depending on your account currency. Google tells you to ask your bank for its instructions for receiving a wire from abroad. A cheque is the slower, more physical route, and Google says it must reach an address in the same country as your payment settings. If a check isn't deposited within 12 months, the earnings go back to your account and payments are put on hold, and you can reissue one after 60 days if it never turns up.
